With the help of the dark creatures, the process of cutting down trees to build wooden rafts under Han Shuo's command took only half a day to complete.
Five wooden rafts and ten wooden oars were floated into the water by the efforts of the skeleton warriors. Everyone boarded the rafts after all thirteen sacks had been securely placed on them and began rowing down the Nirolan River with oars in hand.
Han Shuo, Fanny and Lisa were all on one raft, and Fanny had summoned a zombie warrior to row with her. The three of them lounged comfortably on the sturdy wooden platform, gazing contentedly at the view of the Nirolan River.
It was dusk, and the glow of the sunset was painting the sky. The deep blue waters of the Nirolan River were calm, and a few bold fish jumped out, drawing silver lines on the surface. The towering trees in the distance were covered with leafy branches, and a few unfamiliar insects chirped happily, putting everyone in a calm and serene frame of mind.
While Fanny and Lisa chattered and laughed softly, admiring the view on all sides, Han Shuo sat cross-legged on the wooden raft with his eyes closed, silently training his magic yuan, not giving up a single second that could be used to strengthen and forge his body, continuously opening the passages in his body.
Fanny and Lisa had originally had a belly full of questions for Han Shuo, but they did not disturb him when they realised he had closed his eyes and was not speaking. In fact, they were touched by how studious Han Shuo was and thought it was no wonder he had improved so much in such a short time. Their beautiful eyes occasionally landed on Han Shuo's body as they discussed something in low voices. It seemed that their topic of discussion must have been something to do with Han Shuo.
After a long period of silence, Han Shuo suddenly opened his eyes and looked around as he felt the wooden raft shake. He discovered that the raft had made it across the Nirolan River and had arrived in a lush area thick with bushes and trees.
Fanny and Lisa hurriedly instructed the dark creatures to move the spoils of battle from the raft to the shore. When Gene and company were all present and accounted for, everyone cheered and used their mental powers to command the dark creatures to charge towards Balthazar City once the direction had been set.
After two days of walking, the crew finally arrived in Balthazar City. They first found a large hotel and immediately began to shower and change, feasting on delicacies to their heart's content before happily retiring for the night.
Han Shuo's treatment was much different now than it had been when they'd first gone into the Dark Forest. Of course, he enjoyed the most noble treatment, sharing his room with no one. Everyone had even taken it upon themselves to move the resources into the hotel's special vault. No one dared to let Han Shuo do it.
The next day, early morning.
Dondondon. Fanny lived next door to Han Shuo and he knocked on her door as soon as he got up.
"Who is it?" Fanny's lazy voice sounded from the room.
"It's me." Han Shuo replied.
"Oh, wait a minute. I'll open the door for you after I've done the dishes."
Fanny opened the door after a while, wearing a thin white silk robe. The long, soft robe accentuated her slender, well-endowed body. Her hair was messy and she lazily glanced at Han Shuo before stepping aside to let him in. She asked, "What are you doing here so early in the morning?"
Staring greedily at Fanny, Han Shuo automatically sat down at the round table after closing the door. He smiled and said, "Master Fanny, I was thinking last night that the loot we have is still too conspicuous in our hands. I wanted to come and discuss with you how to dispose of it."
"Mm. It would also be a good thing if we disposed of these resources sooner. We're not merchants, so we can't take them back to the school, but they came from the town of Drol. If we're discovered by others, not only will we not get any gold coins, but we might also get into trouble. What should we do?" Fanny's beautiful eyebrows were slightly furrowed as she spoke after thinking for a while.
"If we had a space ring, we'd be able to solve this problem. Master Fanny, although space rings are precious, there's still a price to be paid for them. How much would a normal, smaller space ring cost?"
"Normally, only space archmages have the ability to refine a space ring. The materials needed to refine a space ring are also quite precious, so the prices of space rings are all quite high. Even a space ring of slightly inferior quality will cost at least one or two thousand gold coins. It's not something that just anyone can afford, so it's best if you don't think such random thoughts."
"Master Fanny, as an adept mage, most of your necromancy students are from noble families, so how come you don't even have a space ring?"
"Heh heh, even though I'm an adept mage, I rarely leave the academy under normal circumstances. My annual income is only a few hundred gold coins, so where would I find the change to buy a space ring? Necromancy is the weakest major. If these students were all from great noble families, they wouldn't be taking Necromancy. Besides, they haven't graduated yet, so why should their families buy a space ring for them?"
Han Shuo nodded, basically understanding the gist of things after Fanny's explanation. It looked like the necromancy students and teachers were all paupers. No wonder they were all so excited when they saw this batch of resources.
"So that's it, a space ring costs one or two thousand gold coins. Heh heh, looks like I should get a space ring first." Han Shuo thought about the two thousand gold coins stored in his crystal card, rubbed his chin for a while as he pondered, then spoke as if deep in thought.
Rolling her eyes at Han Shuo, Fanny was out of sorts. "What gold coins would you have as an errand slave? If you had that much money, would you have been sold and become an errand slave for the Necromancy Major for six years?"
Chuckling, Han Shuo said, "Times have changed, who says I'll be poor forever? Don't worry, I have my ways to get a space ring."
When he finished saying these words, Han Shuo stealthily looked left and right under Fanny's astonished eyes and pulled out an agate necklace studded with a ruby. The necklace sparkled with a faint red hue, and the ruby was glittering and translucent, an obviously valuable gem.
"Master Fanny, this is for you!" Han Shuo saw that Fanny was staring at the necklace in his hands, entranced. He laughed softly and handed the necklace to Fanny.
At first, she was suddenly happy and then blushed hotly. When she had recovered, she shrank back hastily and said, "I, I can't accept it. Where did you get it?"
"From the pockets of the orc wolf rider, of course. I have sharp eyes and nimble fingers, and I saw that one of the bags was glowing with red light, and so I discovered this necklace of agate and ruby. I thought that since Master Fanny is such a beautiful person, if you were wearing this necklace, it would surely make you appear even more charming and seductive. So I put it away to give it to you." Han Shou's expression was quite normal as he spoke lightly.
"This item is too precious, I can't have it, you keep it for yourself!" Fanny's beautiful face turned red as her beautiful eyes stared at the necklace, but her mouth stammered out words of refusal. It seems that although she liked it very much, she hadn't completely lost her mind.
"Take it, I have no use for it as a man. Besides, you've taken care of me all these years and I've been very grateful. I finally have the chance to repay you, I'd be very sad if you refused it." Han Shuo was quite serious as his normal silly, honest look had disappeared. He spoke quite firmly.
"I really can't, you already saved me last time and helped me a lot. How could I accept your things? Oh, although last time in the pool, you..." Fanny rambled on a bit as she seemed to remember Han Shuo's mischief at the pool. Her face blushed a delicate and charming scarlet as she gave Han Shuo a wink.
Her beautiful figure almost lured Han Shuo's soul away. His mind racing, Han Shuo stood up hastily with a strong sense of righteousness. He smiled, "You must accept this or I will always feel ashamed and uncomfortable. I have other matters to attend to, good day."
Han Shuo didn't wait for Fanny to rebuff him after he had finished speaking and immediately pulled open the door to leave. His footsteps gradually faded into the distance.
Fanny panicked in her heart as her eyes landed on the agate and ruby necklace. Her expression was indescribably strange. Her eyes would be determined one second and tender the next. Then her face would flush with anger as another complex emotion played itself out on her face.
