Chapter 6 - Mutated Rift?! Dangerous situation!

####

Airi and Ailine were now inside of a time-rift. Inside was an eerie forest with heavy fog and many tall dead trees. Ghostly beasts and undead creatures at every corner and in every clearing.

Graahhhhhh hisses rustle

Undead orcs, large 5-meter-long snakes, and horned agile rabbits surrounded them in the clearing

Ailine's PoV

"Airi watch out!" A few horned rabbits that were hiding away in the brush and fog suddenly dashed towards Airi with their horns leading the charge in an attempt to impale her. It looked like they were going to succeed as Airi was in the middle of blocking the greatsword of an undead orc captain.

I've got to hurry! "Blood control." The rabbits stopped in their tracks and fell to the ground. They weren't dead, just immobilized. But that's all Airi needed. She bashed the orc with her shield, dazing him before slicing horizontally with her sword of light to cut through the line of immobilized horned rabbits. Whew. Thank God. I can't use other spells while locking them down but she was able to follow up.

GROOAAAR

I felt a powerful gust of wind pass over me right as Airi tackled me.

"Ailine pay attention!"

GROAR

I was on the ground while Airi was crouched in front of me holding off a large undead bear with a skull for a head with red eyes with her shield.

"I-I'm sorry" maybe it wasn't a good idea to come here. This rift mutated into a stronger rift. It's almost on par with a greater rift. Ayy! Don't worry about that for now. Get up, Ailine, Airi, needs help.

With my [Strengthen Blood] and [Accelerate Blood] Airi was able to deflect the undead bear's sweeping paw and stab it in the heart. Or so I thought, but her sword did no damage. Her low-level sword of light couldn't damage the strong undead beast. Fuck! Is this it?

"Ailine! Distract it for a minute. I'm going to change forms." She shouted for me to distract this beast?! I'm a bloodmancer, you know! Oh god. Fine! Have it your way. I strengthened my body with multiple blood skills so I could dodge and hopefully not die in one hit. The orc captain was recovering from his daze, and a snake alongside him.

Creating a bloodblade, I dashed past Airi and slashed the bear's leg to gain aggro and slow its movements. "Get to changing, Airi! I won't be able to handle them for long.

I'm no trained swordsman nor am I physically strong like Airi, but I can severely increase my speed through blood arts.

Hisses

Suddenly the snake lunged towards me from behind, but I'm not getting caught off guard again. Parrying its fangs as the captain's greatsword swings from the side to catch me while I'm immobile. Unfortunately for him, I can phase my body just for a second with blood-shift, causing his greatsword to swing through and past me into the snake as its momentum from pushing against my parry caused the snake's body to be cleaved clean in half.

Hah. Ha… ha.

My body is still untrained and requires multiple skills to parry a measly snake. This is draining my strength incredibly quickly. Please hurry, Airi.

GROOAAAR

The bear barreled through a couple of trees that were between him and me, completely knocking them down. Woahwoah, bear dude, chill! How the fuck did Airi block an attack from that? I've already got Mr greatsword in a blood rage, and now I have a 2-ton bear charging through trees to get a bite of me?!

Nah fuck that, I'm running. Dash over that vault over this slide under my hopes and dreams of living. Oh, I meant the fallen tree. Airiririri help me!!!

Blood splattered across the ground as the orc captain's head was sent flying past me, who was running with all my strength for dear life, mind you. The head flew so fast that it made me think I was running in slow motion. The fuck happened? Did the bear kill his monster buddy? With a pivot of my foot, I turned around to see what happened.

Is that… Airi? Damn, she's hot. Well I mean if she wasn't covered in purple-rotted undead orc blood from completely obliterating the poor dude.

I thought she was a paladin or something. What happened? The girl, who I assume is Airi, has lost her shield and sword of light and gained bright red swirly tattoos all over her naked body. Her illusion magic faded, and everything was in full view.

The tattoos would start on either her neck or shoulder or her hips. Going down each leg, arm, and body. There was a bat tattoo on her back and a tattoo of a mouth with sharp fangs around her mouth. Giving her a kind-of pseudo mouth. Her eyes turned to the color of blood, and her hair whitened instead of its normal silver.

Her movements were crazily fast causing dirt, rocks, and loose grass to get kicked up with each step. With each step, she would nearly disappear and reappear behind the absurdly large bear of at least 10 meters without standing on two legs. One two three five. Each time she appeared in a blind spot she quickly hit the bear with a flurry of punches and stabs with her hands. At each strike, the backlash would send visible ripples through her arms. I would assume her bones were cracking and would break under the repeated strain. The bear swung its large meaty claws attempting to predict where she would appear. It would roar in an attempt to stun her. Blood came out of Airi's ears at his piercing roar. She dared not stop stopping meant certain death.

The bear wasn't giving up though. I could tell. Even though this form was strong, it reduced her defensive stats. Her strength was enough to draw blood from her. If the fight continued much longer she would surely be the loser.

I've got to do something! Gathering the blood of the fallen enemies that were scattered across the battlefield it formed into a giant spear of blood. Airi, as experienced as she is, noticed my attack and stopped dashing around too much so I could safely pierce the bear's heart from behind. It groaned as the last of its strength faltered and collapsed.

Hah… jeez how did we come out victorious? I'm exhausted. That wasn't even the main boss man… Airi? She doesn't look too good. "Airi, are you okay?!" Here I'll heal– I'm out of mana.

"Out of mana, are you?" She figured me out quickly.

"It's fine. I just need to drink some of your blood. This is my vampire form. I can regain my strength through drinking blood."

Vampire form? She had that? Yet she's also got the Holy attribute? How does that make sense? It doesn't matter for now.

"Go ahead. If you die, I die, so drink as much as you need! Haha. Or maybe not. I'm quite exhausted, and we have battles ahead of us. But, like, drink enough."

The moment I permitted her, her erotic body, or at least would have been erotic. Well, if she wasn't covered in orc and bear blood anyways. Her body pressed against mine as she sank her fangs into my neck. Slowly sucking my blood. It felt weird and tingly. I could feel my mind and body becoming more tired as my blood was being drained from my body.

Her soft lips continued to press against my neck even after her fangs retracted from my body. She was gently licking and kissing where there were now two small holes.

If I wasn't so tired, I'd feel turned on, but I think she was only doing this to stop the blood flow and clean up the excess blood on my neck.

"Mm~ I'll approve of your blood, wife. Thanks for the meal." Even though her lips spouted somewhat erotic words and her seductive body was on full display, she was bashfully looking away and trying to hide her features until her berserker form disappeared before her normal features appeared again with her illusion magic.

"I've leveled up to 5, and the excess experience seems to be collected in the form of experience crystals I can use after evolving. That's nice." Airi stated

"Yeah, but we should find a safe spot for you to evolve before continuing the time-rift. We'll need you to become stronger if we're going to beat the boss and escape." She nodded, and we searched for a resting spot. Luckily we didn't run into much, just the occasional horned rabbits.

Here we go! Found the rest spot. There's usually one in all mutated rifts to help out with the sudden increase in strength of the rift. It was a large lake in a lowered area where fog heavily accumulated.

After resting and chatting for a bit. She even complimented me on my tactic causing the orc to kill the snake. She started her evolution.
