James had no idea how long he had been unconscious. He barely remembered a woman in a white coat shining a flashlight in his eyes. The sounds around him were loud. He heard metal clanging and instruments dripping.
"Don't eat me!"James screamed and sat up. He looked left and right, and the scene before him was unfamiliar. Surrounded by clean white walls, a plate of fruit lay on the table beside him. It took James a long time to catch his breath; he seemed to be in a hospital now. He lifted the blanket, himself covered in bandages. His left hand was also hanging from an IV bottle.
"Yo, you're awake young man." A man entered through the door. He was wearing a black cloak that covered his head to his back. Inside the cloak he wore a black and white striped vest. His voice was deep and magnetic.
"Yes..."At a loss for words, James looked at the stranger before him.
"Feeling better? It's okay, now you are in our S.A's medical office. Drink some water." The stranger pulled a glass bottle of water out of thin air from under his cloak, almost like a magic trick.
James rubbed his eyes and looked at the man's operation in disbelief and confusion: " So many weird things today ..."
"You've gotten really lucky today. When I came you were already unconscious, and the monster almost had to eat you. Thanks to my instant, I punched the bastard's pig face. Boom!"
" What happened to my Uncle?"James asked.
" Well ... It's a bit complicated. By the way, I haven't introduced myself yet. My name is Sevilen Kane.I am an S.A. agent." Sevilen said. He removed his cloak to reveal a handsome face. He had aquamarine eyes. He had brown fluffy hair and a high hairline. The contours of his cheeks were clearly visible with a sexy brown beard. " I'm James Phoenix. You could call me James."
"Nice to meet you, James. You were in the military, weren't you?" Sevilen asked.
" I was a border soldier.I had retired." James said.
" I see, no wonder you are so strong and powerful. You were able to hit a demon-possessed man hard with your bare hands and still suffer no injury. The doctor said when I brought you here that the wound would have healed later. Ahahahaha, I was joking about that last sentence."
"Demon-p...what?"
" Oh, I'm so sorry. Your uncle has passed away. Here's the situation. We have deduced that Daniel was secretly conducting some kind of experiment. He had the misfortune to come in contact with a demon during the experiment. The demon killed him and took over his body."
Suddenly there were footsteps outside the door. Sevilen stopped talking immediately and looked nervously at the door.
"Knock, knock, knock."
"Oh shit. Sorry James, just me few minutes." Seliven swallowed his saliva and straightened his cloak slightly. Taking a breath, he opened the door and stepped out.
" What the hell you doing, Mr.Kane? Why would such a simple damn task result in innocent people getting hurt?"A black old man stood aggressively outside the door, questioning Seliven.
" I'm really sorry, sir. This man fought the target before I arrived, and I saved him."Sevilen explained.
" I don't give a fuck on that. The people got hurt, how do I explain this to my boss. Knomsaying? I hate putting in a good word for those ass people who won't even part with more dame funds for our exorcism department."
" Calm down, Red. Nothing need to worry about. I've fixed it. That guy has been recovered. Guess what? He's a talent. His name is James Phoenix. James is a former soldier. He has strong fighting skills. Do you dare to believe that he seriously injured that target all by himself?" Sevilen said.
"So what? I should give him an ass award?" The old man asked.
" I mean, we could hire him. James is a bum, and he really needs a job right now. It just so happens that we're understaffed at the moment. His skills can certainly help us." Sevilen said.
" It sounds great. I'd like to see who the hell he is."The old man pushed through the door after he finished speaking and walked right up to James
Even though James did not know the old man, he was terrified. His heart was like jumping in his throat as he felt like the guy in front of him was going to eat him.
"Good afternoon, Mr. Phoenix. My name is Red Doerksen. I am the head of the exorcism department. I am affiliated with the Supernatural Authority. "Red said. He had a thick lip and speaks like a fish with a blistering mouth. His eyes were big and round, and when he was angry they looked like they were going to squeeze out. Red wore a black suit and blue tie, a leadership style.
"Good...afternoon."James said.
Red's stroked his chin, his eyes quickly scanning James, and after a few seconds of silence, he said:"How do you feel? I hope you weren't hurt too badly."
" I'm fine. I am able to move my whole body freely. "James answered.
" Then why is your ass still in bed? Get up quickly! I ain't your mama. It's a free country but not everything. I don't have damn money to pay for your treatment." Red's face suddenly changed from worried to angry.
"Hey,you can't do that to me! It's cruel."
"Or, you can have a job." Red instantly calmed his anger again. He nonchalantly took a chair, sat down, and calmly looked at James.
"Pardon?"
" I heard your story from Sevilen. It was very surprising. I'm willing to give you a chance. Come to the headquarters of the River City Paranormal Authority tomorrow morning at 6am. I hope you pass the interview. Come work for me. We have insurance and bonuses once you turn. The salary is monthly, with additional bonuses if you make outstanding contributions. We also have housing, dormitory, $500 a month, Water and electricity included."Red spoke endlessly, his hands following his gestures, his eyes shining as if he were presenting a work of art.
Also excited is James. He heard Red's eyes round when he got to the latter part of the sentence and instantly perked up. He jerked off the covers and jumped out of bed in front of Red. James took his hands in his and said:"I'm all yours from now on, sir. I will be able to do this job and definitely live up to you."
Red covered his stomach and laughed after hearing this and said:"Heh heh heh heh. You're a funny guy, James. I want that kind of enthusiasm. Good luck tomorrow."
Seliven looked at the strange duo and couldn't help but smile. He thought to himself that this James was definitely not as simple as he seemed on the surface.
The next day, according to the address given by Red, James came to the headquarters of the Supernatural Authority located in downtown River City. S.A.'s building is the largest single office building in River City in terms of floor area. It has a total floor area of 6.5 million square feet. It has 7 floors above ground and 2 floors below. James is like a mole in front of it.
James walked into the building and was shocked by the sight before him. The walls were made of white granite, and the floor was as smooth as a mirror. A huge electronic screen hung in the middle, on which dense information was recorded. Further ahead was a 4-meter-tall statue, wearing armor, holding a sword in his right hand and a shield with a cross in his left hand.

" Hi there. My name is James Phoniex. I am here for an interview."

After the Third World War, mankind became aware of the problem of supernatural beings. The government established the Supernatural Authority to take charge of managing supernatural beings. The Exorcism Department is one of the departments of the Supernatural Authority. It is responsible for solving and managing supernatural crimes. His room was not very big, probably only 100 square meters. Two beds, but James was the only one living there. To the left of the door is the bathroom. Johnny is 5'8" tall. He has a well-muscled body. His biceps are prominent and his pecs are protruding. James can even see his body shirt under the forehead of his hidden six-pack abs. He was wearing a yellow baseball shirt, a white body shirt and blue jeans.
"Oh hell, hello James. I'm Johnny Johnston. You can call me Jangjang. I'm the best looking, strongest, best performing man in Group B. They all call me Exorcist One." Johnny said and raised his arms to show his muscles and make a pose to play handsome. His smile is confident, bragging when showing white teeth shining.
"Bullshit. Don't listen to his nonsense ..... Sevilen is the Exorcist One."A slow voice interrupted Johnny. Jenny Orlando came out of a corner with a stack of information in her arms.
" Screw you, nerd." Johnny said.
" I just ... Just telling the truth ...Sevilen is the best in terms of ability and character. Unlike some limbless, simple-minded guy." Jenny always spoke and walked slowly. As if she was born half a beat slower than people. But her brain was not.
James was pleased that someone was finally able to strike down Johnny.

"No fun, I'm trying to help James get acquainted with the environment. "Johnny rolled his eyes and went back to his work.
" You group B is really a collection of talents. I can see why Red invited me with such enthusiasm."James said.
"Hahhhh.Yeah, I'm sure you can fix it." Sevilen said.
Then came the familiar thud of footsteps, like a piece of rock music. Everyone's attention was immediately focused and they hurried back to their work.
" Come here, you bunch of losers!" Red shouted.
" Good moring,sir."The crowd returned in unison.
"Good moring,sir."James also then responded.
"I pay you to work. I don't pay you to chat, go to the bathroom or otherwise slack off. Now put your pig ears up and listen up, you have a job to do! Do I make myself clear?"
" Yes,sir!"
