Some time later after Kerren killed the mosquitoe, who was the gatekeeper, somehow, a lot of people gathered around to see what the explosion was.
It wasn't hard for them do so, since there was a large dust cloud around the place.
Also, lots of dirts just flew in different direction, making everything around the initial explosion dirty!
Even some goblins were victims to such inhumane cruelty and had to wash themselves!
Kerren himself, however, didn't stay there for long.
After he got the key he wanted to check if some crystals survived the explosion... To his disappointent - none did. It was almost a fatal blow to his finances!
Alas, he brought it on himself. It was he who decided to use them as bait!
It was, however, due to him not knowing how else he could to it, since making a mana lump with his own mana would've consumed even more mana.
After crying for a bit of time Kerren went straight for the door. Of course, his mana wasn't full right now, but he was sure that it's enough to slay the boss.
He was somewhat afraid at first, but then he realised that even if the boss is strong... so what? He can make it bleed if he wanted!
On his way there Kerren met many people who recognized him, they asked what the explosion was since they could see he was coming from the direction it took place at...
As such, he told them that he doesn't know and he went to investigate aswell, but since he couldn't find anything of use or even a person who did it - he left.
It was a plausible excuse, since many people would later tell others the same thing.
After all, if Kerren, who was the culprit, couldn't find the reason behind the explosion - how could they?
He himself wanted to know why on earth he decided to blow up his own crystals. It's not like he regreted it, but why didn't he think for a little bit more?
Maybe he could've saved some of them? After all, he only needed to kill the main mosquitoe, which was somewhat far from the crystal pile...
He had some think about it while he was walking towards the door, he needed to wait until his mana regenerated, so he wasn't in a rush.
When he was right before the door he finally concluded: he's an idiot. Why else would he do that? He could lie to others, but lying to himself wasn't a thing he liked doing.
By lying to yourself you can't get anything significant. Yes, there's a positive lie that's called hope, but so what? Was hope really a good thing?
A thing that makes you suffer for no reason whatsoever, instead of ending it once and for all?
Kerren knew perfectly well what hope is, as he was its faithful follower for a long time! Alas, it didn't help him at all!
Only when he started taking risks, only when he gambled his life away he understood the truth!
If you're not going to help yourself - nobody will. Ever.
Ah, right...
Kerren placed the key on the door. It didn't have a keyhole or anything like that, thus he did that.
As expected, it opened. A long and dark corridor was before him. Another door could be seen in the end.
Kerren couldn't understand why he couldn't see the corridor but could see the door, but he didn't care that much about it.
As he entered it... The door behind him closed. What surprised him is that they key that he used to open it didn't disappear! Usually key items were one-time use!
For some reason, this one wasn't! It could mean that it had some other use that Kerren didn't know about.
Whatever it was - he could already imagine what it was...
However, as he got closer to the second door thorught the unnecessarrily long corridor... It didn't open.
Kerren placed his key on it, maybe it'll work? It sure did. But... they key disappear along with Kerren plans for it... Damn it...
[You now have unlimited access to the boss room of [Floor 1]]
System window appear with a message.
Kerren stood there for a solid minute, trying to understand what it meant.
Will he need to enter it later on or something? He knew that this dungeon wasn't normal since it didn't disappear and floor could even be inhabited later on, but...
He knew too little and decided not to think too much about it.
As he continued forward a giant open space was right before him.
It looked like an underground coliseum of old, where gladiators would fight for fame and riches!
Kerren, however, couldn't see any gladiators. More than that, he couldn't see anything that resembled life, even thought it was the boss arena.
Usually, a boss would just stand right in the middle of it, so where was it? Was it invisible or...
Was it too small?
Kerren got scared for a second, what if he needed to fight another mosquitoe? He could barely kill one with some strange method, now he needs to defeat it fair and square!? No way!
Thus, he used his spell to try locating it!..
He couldn't. There really was nothing on this arena!
Kerren didn't bother too much since that meant the boss hasn't spawned yet, but why?
Was there a reson behind it?..
As he got closer to the center...
[Would you like to start the fight with [Gluttony]?]
[Y/N]
Kerren stopped in place when he saw it.
What gluttony? Was he supposed to fight an embodiment of sin or something? Or was it just a fancy name for some backwater demonic noble?
If it's the former... well, he's f*kked.
The latter, however? He still had a chance.
Whatever it was he wasn't going to back down just like like that.
He was this close to being above the rest of the world, even if he had to risk one of his lives - he will fight it to the end!
In the worst case scenario he could just respawn, get several dozen kilograms of crystals and try again!
- Start the fight
He said without a second thought!
