It was a sunny day outside despite the cold wind from the winter, carrying the roars of beasts from outside the tribe. The hunters were readying their weapons; the gatherers were preparing their baskets; the merchants were ready for their journey to the nearest Tribe. Professors and the students of Totem Warrior Academy were preparing for their classes.
Deshante was the city of dreams and survivors, that was what they had heard growing up. They lived on the large piece of land, which more than 100 Tribes inhabited along with the Beasts of different kind. The existence of Beasts made it dangerous for the Tribes to live in Deshante. The fog covered the borders of their land, for many of them the fog was the end of the world, anyone that ever tried going out was torn apart in front of their eyes. This group of Tribes formed the Deshante City. They fought and hunted the monsters from outside the fog for the safety of their family and food.
Some believed that Beasts were the punishment of the God for their sin. While others thought that since the blood of the beast makes herbs grow on the soil, their meat is what gives them strength, their leather is what they used to cover their bodies in the winter, their bones are used to make weapons. And their spirit blood is what allows Totem Warriors to gain strength. While the beasts were deadly to the human, their bodies were treasures that kept them alive on this land.
That is why humans use the blood of the beasts to draw totem on their body, the blood that carries vengeful spirits, and gain their powers. To teach others how to master the power of Totem, was what the New Academy was for, and the people who taught there were extraordinary people among the 108 Tribes of Deshante.
Even now, one of their youngest professors, the prodigy of Deshante, had started her class.
Deshante Academy, Aspiring Totem Warrior Course, Year 1, Classroom E,
There were over twenty students, listening—watching their professor as she taught them important details about the Beast and Totem Warriors.
"I heard she is said to be the most beautiful woman in all of Deshante," a few students started whispering in the back, staring at their professor with wide eyes, staring at her body with unbridled lust.
The woman had a tall figure, wearing a sky-blue fur that tightly hugged her body, reaching her long, toned thighs that many of them were salivating on. With her deep ruby eyes, and long, straight and silky golden hair that reached her face, along with a symmetrical face that couldn't be any more perfect, even the girls in the class were mesmerised by her appearance.
They were staring at her heart-shaped lips that moved every time she spoke, moving their hearts along with her lips. There was an innocence on her face, yet when they looked into her eyes, there was the temptation of devil inside.
Eve Seraphim, she was from the Seraphim Clan, said to have Totem made from the mythical creatures, Angels. Though Seraphim Clan always clarified that these were just rumours. Nevertheless, no one could deny they were one of the strongest Tribes in Deshante.
"Totem warriors are those who hunt the beasts and use the blood and spirit of the beast they have hunted to carve it on their body and soul, in turn, harnessing the power of the beast. It might sound simple, but there are different Grades of Totem Warriors. There are those who use the power of their family or tribe to help them hunt the Beast, unless they are the ones leading the Tribe, they are rarely acknowledged by the spirit of the beast.
Even if they succeed, they are only Bronze Grade, able to bring out 20% of the Beasts Power. Above them are Silver Grade, who can bring out 50%. Higher than them are Gold, Platinum, and Diamond Grade, bringing out 100, 200 and 500% of their Power, respectively. There are different conditions to achieving each grade. I will teach you and make sure you are ready for your First Hunt, which is in Two Months.
"Wow, even her voice is angelic. I am sure those aren't rumours; she truly has the Spirit of Angels!"
"I hope she shows us!"
"Maybe if we ask for a demonstration?"
"Will she grow wings out of her back? That would be so cool!"
'Angelic Spirit,' while Eve was teaching the students, and the boys were busy discussing their spirit, there was drifted out of his sleep while hearing such words. He was stunned by the sharp rays of sunlight, forcing him to cover his face as he felt the dizzying headache, like a hangover.
Though the moment his palm touched his face, a shock ran through his body, the memories crashed inside his head, nearly knocking him out. If it weren't for his resilient demonic mind and soul then he was sure he would have become amnesiac or lost his sanity, 'this body's brain isn't developed enough and my soul isn't used to the body. I need time to recuperate.'
He sat up on the back bench, rubbing his aching head, when his eyes darted around the classroom. It was a classroom…yet; the people were wearing fur on their body like they were from the stone age. There weren't any paper or books, and when he looked at his body, he was naked, only wearing a white furred pelt around his waist.
He furrowed his brows when his eyes met with the ruby eyed girl, who looked like she had barely reached adulthood, and his eyes widened, 'Eve…Seraphim. She's from my memories…but why is she…why is she carrying that thing inside of her? That should have been destroyed…this was supposed to be a pure land? As a Demon…there is no way that I wouldn't recognise that thing.'
The reason why he was so confused was because he was someone from 10,000 years ago. At that time, the humans and demons waged war against each other, the war engulfed everything in sight. Despite the hate between the humans and demons, because of the demon natures who enslaved the humans to make a sex slave, the new hybrid races started to appear. He was one of them, the hybrids who had no place in the world since they were purely a product of lust. For humans, they were a disgrace, for demons, they weren't children. They were…something to be discarded, like the humans they were born from. He thought he would be different since his mother was Demon Nobility, his father was a Human Sage. He assumed that he was born out of love, but none of the two ever accepted him.
Though, as their child, he was born with unimaginable power. The power to read memories of living or non-living beings he touched with his bare hand, and the power to move across space-time to the places and time in those memories. If anyone else had that power, then they would be thinking of ways to rule the world, end the war and whatnot.
For him, it was simpler. He had seen the power that one of the Seven Sages in the world wielded. It wasn't a power that one could reach with training alone. It required fate, destiny, luck, inborn talent, and so many more variables to be just right. He tried to tell his mother that he had this power, hoping for her love when she started talking about things like using his power to erase human sages from ever be born. Once the plan started, she trapped him in a cage which was meant to stop him from using his powers.
He gave up on them after that, the moment he got his chance he escaped into the past. Rather than becoming the tool of the war across time for humans and demons, he escaped his reality. He was travelling across different time when he heard a rumour of objects of absolute power.
The rumour reminded him of the Seven Sages, to him, it didn't make sense that they were so much stronger than the other humans. That was when a thought crossed his mind, 'what if…they wield one such object?'
He followed the rumours across time, reading the memories of the land, letting them be his guide until he finally found one. Yet, it wasn't the one that he was searching for. Among the Seven Sages, there was one who was famous for their command over Time. He continued his search for that one, and when he got his hand on it. He was finally able to travel to the future, to the end of the war. He knew the last of humans had decided to make Deshante their home, and he even left behind the seed for his revival, which had finally borne fruit today. Yet, this wasn't the paradise that he had dreamed of. The weapon that the Demons had made to defeat the Seven Sages once and for all. There didn't exist a Demon who wouldn't recognise it, 'the Whore of Babylon.'
'There is no doubt, she…has it inside of her. And if she has it…that means Deshante has already fallen…' He was struggling with the thought when he heard a familiar-sounding name. The Whore of Babylon was a dangerous weapon that brought forth the Apocalypse, a weapon made to destroy humans from their roots.
"Now, today's class is basically an introduction, from tomorrow onwards we'll dive into the main course. Sir Aurum, would you like to say anything to them?"
'Aurum…that's my bloodline for sure. To think the name survived 1000 years. Good thing that the time in Deshante runs differently than it runs outside,' he scanned the faces of students, who were staring at him with adoring eyes, 'right. I was rather successful. Eve was the Prodigy of Deshante, but she is only an assistant professor.'
"Not really," some were disappointed by his uninterested comment. Though a few girls seemed to be delighted by his cold, uncaring attitude. He inadvertently let out a sigh, hearing the squeal while Eve walked up to him, whispering by his ear.
"They are still new, and they are in E Section. Could you please say something nice to them?" Her breath hit his earlobe, sending a shiver down his spine. He could feel his whole body react to her and the spirit inside of her. He raised his calm eyes, snow-kissed eyes to look at her. She tensed up from the sharp gaze, feeling a drop of sweat drip down her cheek. Yet, she didn't give up staring back at him, hoping to convince him. His eyes glanced towards her cleavage, 'the way she is bending forward…in that dress, some of them might be able to see her…'
'Let's just get this over with…something to say…those words did leave behind an impression,' He stood up, walking past Eve, making his way towards the blackboard, "do you know why you are in E Section?"
The students were taken aback, the cheery atmosphere of the class came crashing down the moment he let out those words, "It means that the Academy wants to expel you but they can't."
Aurum stood in front of the student, his snow-white hair swayed with every step, framing his face with strong jawline, and prominent cheekbones that gave him a chiselled appearance, along with his regal, straight nose. His most striking feature was his crystal blue shimmering eyes, appearing to be like the bluest of the sky, reflection the snow-covered land. He watched their uncomfortable expression, and a smile appeared on his lips, "Fuck that."
"It doesn't matter if the world has given up on you. It doesn't matter that you are disappointed at which point you are in your life. Or that the school wants to expel you. This is not over. It's not over until you decide to give up," his enigmatic voice rang out in their ears, his confident smile encouraged them as he spoke, "You did well, not giving up, coming here today. Now, you can leave it to me. I will make sure that you become Totem Warriors that you so desire."
"Sir, yes, sir!"

He saw the happy look on their face and he turned gaze towards Eve, who clapped with them, smiling softly as she watched him, and she mouthed a few words that caused another set of memories came crashing inside his head.
'Good job, big brother.'
Those words struck him like a truck ramming into him, causing memories to flash in his mind, 'Oh fuck no. Fucking Fate! I hate you!'
