"You might be wondering why I'm telling you all of this," Jake said, his gaze never leaving Su Jiyai's feline eyes.
"At first, I had every intention of killing you. It would've been easier to eliminate, I thought you were just another stray cat irritating and stupid. But then I learned something about you. Something that changed my mind."
Su Jiyai narrowed her eyes but remained silent, waiting for him to continue.
She wasn't entirely convinced Jake had abandoned the idea of killing her, but his sudden change of tone piqued her interest.
"I realized," Jake continued, his expression becoming thoughtful, "that you're not just any ordinary person—or, should I say, any ordinary cat.
You have a unique ability, one I've never encountered before. You can open portals. And not just any portals, but portals to different worlds, especially… a vampire world."
Jake observed her reaction closely before speaking again.
