Su Jiyai pressed on, keeping the knife firm against her chest.
Her fangs pressed harder against her lips, the hunger gnawing at her insides, but she didn't waver.
"If you kill me, or if I kill myself, we all lose. I have nothing left to lose now… but you do."
"You're bluffing," one voice finally hissed, but it sounded unsure.
Su Jiyai's gaze turned cold as she hissed,
"Try me. I have nothing to gain by living under all of you as your slave. But if I die, you lose everything—the chance to escape this dimension, to conquer new worlds. You lose it all."
A deep, long silence followed. Su Jiyai's heart pounded in her chest, but she didn't let the panic show on her face.
She was betting everything on their greed.
Then, finally, the authoritative voice that had been leading the group spoke again, but this time its tone was cold, calculating.
"You risk your life on this, vampire. Fine. Tell us your condition."
