The paleness of their skin, the glowing red eyes, the long, pure white hair, and not to mention the long black dress she was wearing—Alex knew exactly what she was.

"A Demon?!"

"Yes, it is nice to meet you, Alex." the demon girl said, bowing with a sadistic smile.

"Alex, meet Ophelia Bloodmoon; yes, she is a demon, but she is also one of us." Adelia was trying to explain to Alex what was going on.

"One of us?" Alex asked.

"Yes, Alex, I am the current holder of the origin of shadows; it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance." Ophelia said getting closer to Alex.

"I thought the demons were on their own continent?" Alex asked.

Ophelia smiled and said "I like traveling."

"That's...it?" Alex asked in surprise.

"That's all I will be telling you for now, handsome. Any way shall we move onto the main topic at hand?" Ophelia said, looking at Adelia.

"Yes, the reason we gathered here is to discuss an enemy target." Adelia said getting Alex and Ophelia's attention.

"Our enemy target?" Alex asked.

"You mean we finally located one of them?" Ophelia asked.

"Yes, and to answer your question, Alex, we found a member of the group that has been targeting us." Adelia explained.

"You mean...the guys who killed Ghost?" Alex asked in surprise.

"Yes, and by luck, we found one of the ones suspected of being involved in his death." Adelia said.

Adelia placed a small amulet, and an image of a man appeared.

"Asher Bennett is a bastard child of a noble family and has elven blood. He has been involved in many crimes around the Empire, and some even in other countries. Word is, he befriended some people in the town of Ironfall; that is where we will be attacking. Alex, you will have to leave your friends for now; you may get in trouble for it. Are you in?" Adelia explained and asked Alex.

"Without question, this is for Ghost; any punishment is worth it." Alex said with a determined face.

Ophelia smiled at Alex and said "I like you."

"Thank you?" Alex said.

"It's not often you see the amount of bloodlust in someone like you, especially a noble-born man." Ophelia said.

"Ophelia, will you please stop?" Adelia said, sighing.

"What is he, you're boytoy or something? That's not an issue I'm willing to share." Ophelia teased Adelia.

"Ophelia!" Adelia yelled out.

"Oops, I may've gone a teeny bit too far." Ophelia said with a laugh.

She didn't regret any of the teasing.

"Well, anyone, we need to plan our attack very carefully; he is extremely dangerous, so we cannot afford to botch this mission. It could cost us our lives." Adelia said.

"So what's the plan?" Alex asked.

"First we send someone into the town to get his attention by any means necessary, then we lead him into the forest, which will give Ophelia the advantage with the shadows; after that, we adjust to what happens." Adelia explained.

"No plan survives first contact with the enemy." Alex said.

"What's that from?" Adelia asked.

"A book I read once." Alex couldn't tell them that it was a quote from his old world.

"Oh, handsome and intelligent, don't let this one get away from you, Adelia; I may have to snatch him up." Ophelia said once again, teasing Adelia.

"Ophelia, please stop and get serious." Adelia pleaded.

"Fine...fine" Ophelia said, knowing full well she would do what she wanted to do.

"So...who goes into the village?" Adelia asked.

"I will." Alex volunteered.

"Are you sure?" Adelia asked.

"He killed Ghost, meaning he knows he passed down the lightning origin, and he may also realize it's a trap. I will attack him, but not use my full power, dodging his attacks. I will feign that he overwhelms me since I'm, according to his knowledge, a newbie at using an origin. I will fake a retreat to the woods, acting like I'm running, and lead right into our trap." Alex suggested.

"It may work; he is smart enough to realize that we may be trying to trap him." Adelia said.

"Which is why I will act like a revenge-driven teenager, making me seem like an easy target." Alex said.

"Not a bad plan, Alex." Ophelia said.

"It is extremely risky, however." Adelia said.

She didn't want to put Alex in that situation; she had grown close to Alex during his stay at her and Percival's home and didn't want to see him lose his life this young.

"This whole mission is risky; however, if we don't take risks, this mission may fail immediately. Adelia, I want to do this." Alex pleaded with Adelia.

Adelia sighed "Fine, just be careful, Alex..."

"I will; I refuse to die for this man." Alex said, looking at the image of Asher Bennett.

"That rage in your eyes, it's so fantastic." Ophelia said, admiring Alex's focused purple eyes.

"Alright, quickly go to your camp and gather what you need and meet us back here; this battle will start tonight." Adelia said.

"Alright, I'll be back soon." Alex said before he left.

"He has potential" Ophelia said, looking at Alex.

"I know, I just wish this wasn't how he wouldn't have to use it." Adelia said.

"Adelia, he has real anger in his eyes, and I can sense the pain that dwells inside of him. The best thing you can do is keep him from falling too far into the darkness." Ophelia said.

"Why do you sound so serious now?" Adelia asked.

"I don't know; he reminds me of someone, I guess." Ophelia said.

*At the camp*

Alex snuck into his tent and saw the sleeping Freya on the ground.

"I'll be back soon, Freya. Sorry in advance for the trouble I'll cause."

Alex snuck back out and started to head back home; however, he was stopped by a familiar voice.

"Alex! What are you doing?" Raven called out to him.

Alex sighed. Raven was the last person he wanted to see him leave.

"Why are you sneaking out again? Is it because of that Adelia girl?" Raven asked.

"How do you know Adelia was here?" Alex asked.

"I saw you and her earlier...are you leaving with her again?" Raven asked.

"Just a small trip; I'll be back hopefully by the morning." Alex said.

"Why...did you say hopefully?" Raven asked with sadness in her voice.

"Raven, I will be honest. I'm fighting a very dangerous opponent. I don't know if I will be able to come back." Alex said honestly.

"Then don't fight; just stay here with us for the night; leave this to that girl, Adelia." Raven tried to plead.

Alex hugged Raven tightly "I can't do that, not against this person."

Raven held him tightly "Then take me with you; we can fight him together."

"No, Raven, this type of fight...is too much for any of you right now. In the future, I may need your help, but right now I can't have you there. The fight...may be chaotic and very destructive, and I may have to show a side of me that I don't want you to see...if you saw me at my worst...I couldn't look at you without feeling ashamed." Alex said truthfully from his heart that the last thing he wanted her to see was him unleashing his full power like he did the town of Haven, the destructive and uncontrollable fires, and the death that he caused.

"Alex..." Raven said before taking a deep breath.

Raven looked up at Alex and forced his head down to hers as she kissed him, unleashing all the love she had felt for him for years.

Alex was taken aback at first, but quickly responded to her kiss.

The two shared a special moment together, and as they separated, a saliva trail formed between them.

Raven smiled at Alex "I will never be ashamed of you."

"Raven...I..." Alex tried to say something, but Raven interrupted him.

"Don't say anything, just yet...just please understand something. I love you, not as family and not as my brother, but I genuinely love you, and I understand that there are things you feel you must do alone, but please understand you are never alone and never have to be ashamed of anything as long as I'm here." Raven said.

All Alex could do was smile and say "Thank you, Raven."

Alex then turned around and headed back into the woods.

"Please...stay safe Alex."
