Jack Russel POV
"What is it that you wanted to say?" Max's voice demanded, his eyes narrowing in suspicion.
I took a deep breath, choosing my words carefully. "I need your help," I said, trying to sound as sincere as possible. "The daughter of Mr. Smith, Lana, has been missing for months now. We have exhausted all our resources in trying to locate her, but she has seemingly vanished without a trace. That's where you come in. I'm hoping you can use your connections and skills to aid in her recovery. But here's the catch - Mr. Smith is completely unaware of our meeting. So, I implore you to keep this a secret."
Max's eyebrow arched as he pondered my request. "What will I get in return?" he finally spoke, a hint of skepticism in his tone.
"Anything," I replied without hesitation. I was willing to offer him whatever he desired if it meant finding Lana and helping Mr. Smith. This was a matter of personal gain, as well. If I succeeded, Mr. Smith would undoubtedly reward me handsomely, further elevating my position and power. The plan was only just beginning, and I was determined to take the win. "Name your price," I said confidently.
A sly smile played on Max's lips as he contemplated his next move. "Give me an example," he challenged.
I paused for a moment, considering the gravity of his request. Max was not one to be trifled with, and his demands would undoubtedly carry weight. "If you agree," I began cautiously, "I will hand over the coded safe deposit box that holds incriminating evidence against one of our mutual enemies. You can use it to your advantage, to leverage power and ensure their downfall. The choice is yours."
Max's eyes gleamed with satisfaction as he weighed the offer in his mind. It was a dangerous gamble, but I knew that the potential reward was worth the risk. I held my breath, awaiting his response.
Checking the time on his wrist, Max finally spoke, "I'll think about it. My assistant, Liam, will get back to you by 12 pm tomorrow."
I didn't want to pressure him, fearing that might lead to denial of my request. However, I needed to inform Max about the deadline given to me by my boss.
"I have 50 days to bring Lana back to Mr. Smith. It's crucial that we avoid any delays. I don't want him to become suspicious. Once our deal is done, I'll fulfil my promise and give you the coded safe deposit box.
"He looked at me before making his way out.
Max POV
"Yes, boss. Consider it noted," replied Liam.
Twenty minutes later, we arrived at the company, RNT Technology Industry.
"Liam, any updates on the QuantumX Project?" I asked.
"So far, none, sir. However, the investors are becoming agitated because you haven't submitted the project overview despite their investments. Mr. Josh threatened to withdraw his investment due to the lack of information," Liam responded.
"Okay, what about the preparations for the party? Are they complete?" I inquired.
"Yes, the arrangements are all set for tomorrow night, and I've already sent out invitations to the investors," Liam reported. "You'll be announcing the project overview at the party, right?"
"Mmmh," I nodded. "You may leave," I dismissed him.
I continued preparing the project overview for tomorrow night when Liam walked into the office.
"We found the leader of the Red Blood Mafia group," he informed me.
"Let's end this, Liam," I said, putting on my coat, ready to leave.
After a few minutes, we arrived at GaseveRNT Mafia where my men had kept the leader of the Red Blood group.
"Boss, the leader of the Red Blood Mafia is Mr. Richard Merlo. He orchestrated all the schemes to disrupt us and interfere with our operations," one of the men revealed.
As I stood in the dimly lit room under the GaseveRNT mafia headquarters, staring at the tied-up leader of the Red Blood Mafia, Mr. Richard Merlo, a sinister smile formed on my lips. It was time to extract the information we needed, and I was prepared to go to extreme lengths to make Merlo talk.
"Liam, gather the necessary tools," I commanded, my voice cold and filled with determination. "We have some questions for Mr. Merlo."
Liam nodded and quickly retrieved a table laden with various instruments of pain and interrogation. Chains, pliers, and a set of knives gleamed under the flickering lightbulb overhead, casting eerie shadows on the grim scene.
Turning my attention to Merlo, who squirmed in his restraints, I adopted a calm yet intimidating demeanour. "Mr. Merlo, I believe you have some valuable information that I require. Your cooperation will determine how much pain you experience."
A malicious grin spread across Merlo's face. "You can try all you want, Max Raynot. I won't tell you anything, despite me being able to dig out everything related to GaseveRNT I still wasn't able to figure out who the leader was, I must admit I am quite surprised as to whom the leader turned out to be. he sneered defiantly.
Chuckling darkly, I slowly approached him, the sound of my footsteps echoing in the cavernous room. "That's where you're mistaken," I whispered, my voice dripping with menace. "You will talk, one way or another and about the surprise, take that as a gift."
I picked up a pair of pliers and held it in front of his face, allowing him to see the menacing tool. "Let's start simple, shall we?" I suggested, my voice deceptively calm. "Tell me the location of the secret meeting place for your organisation."
Merlo scoffed and remained silent, defiance still etched on his face. I quickly moved behind him and grabbed his hand, twisting it with enough force to elicit a cry of pain. "Don't make this more difficult than it needs to be, Merlo," I warned, tightening my grip on the pliers.
With a chilling determination, I slowly applied pressure to one of his fingers, causing excruciating pain to shoot through his body. He let out a scream, his resistance finally starting to crumble.
"Okay, okay!" Merlo finally relented, beads of sweat forming on his forehead. "I'll tell you!"
I released his hand, wiping my hands on a clean cloth nearby. "Good choice," I remarked, a dangerous glint in my eyes. "Now, tell me everything about the upcoming drug shipment. The date, the location, and anyone involved."
Merlo hesitated for a moment, weighing his options. The fear in his eyes was now mingled with desperation. "I don't know what you are talking about," he stammered, his voice trembling. "I swear, I'm not involved in whatever that is!"
Smirking, I leaned in closer, my voice low and menacing. "Allow me to refresh your memory," I whispered. With that, I took out a sharp knife and made a shallow cut on his arm, eliciting a pained gasp from Merlo.
"Now, tell me again," I demanded, the blade glistening in the dim light. "Who is responsible for the drug shipment, and where can I find them?" With a calm yet commanding presence, I couldn't help but revel in the thrilling power I held over him. "You know, Merlo," I said with an audacious grin, "I have ways of verifying the truth. So, why don't you save yourself the agony and provide me with the details?"
Merlo's eyes widened, a mix of fear and panic flashing across his face. Beads of sweat formed on his forehead as he desperately searched for an escape from his tightening predicament. "Alright, alright!" he finally exclaimed, his voice quivering. "I'll tell you what I know, but please, don't hurt me anymore."
Smirking, I leaned back in my chair, my dangerous glint fading to a calculating gaze. "Smart choice," I replied, my voice dripping with taunting satisfaction. "Now, tell me about the upcoming drug shipment. I want to know everything. The location, the date, and most importantly, who's behind it."
Merlo swallowed hard, his shaky hands betraying the trembling turmoil within. "It's... it's happening in three days," he revealed, his voice barely above a whisper. "The location is an abandoned warehouse by the docks. As for the mastermind... it's Giovanni Moretti. He's the one pulling the strings."
My heart raced with anticipation as the puzzle fell into place. Giovanni Moretti was a notorious figure in the criminal underworld, and this drug shipment was just the tip of the iceberg. With newfound determination, I pressed Merlo for more information, relishing each detail he reluctantly spilled.
As our conversation continued, the ethereal glow from the dim light danced and wove tantalizing shadows across the room, intensifying my conviction that the last missing pieces of the intricate puzzle were finally falling into place. With this crucial intelligence in hand, I harbored a resolute determination to face Giovanni Moretti head-on and dismantle his vast empire, sending it crashing down in ruins.
"Finish him," I declared with a measured tone, swiftly turning on my heel to make my departure.
"So, Giovanni Moretti and his cohorts are the ones bolstering the Red Blood Mafia. It's an astute move on his part, entrusting such authority to one who may recklessly divulge information under a few stabs of a knife," I remarked, musing aloud on the cunning yet potentially risky decision.
"Could this be another layer in their intricate web of plans?" Liam pondered, his voice tinged with cautious curiosity.
"We shall soon find out, for Giovanni Moretti, I am coming for you," I vowed, my voice resolute and unwavering, laced with a fierce determination. "Unlike you, however, I will leave no trace behind as I plunge your empire into the depths of oblivion."
