Chapter 6 - Chapter Six: Major pieces

"Do you believe it's true? How could they do that!" the staff said.

"Then we must lock it. None more is supposed to know," Mamen said.

"Why did they spend so much time just for a campign? It suddenly turned to Sitri."

"It's not your business. We just need to do whatever they ask,"Mamen said.

"How about the people? What are we going to say?"the staff asked.

"Tell them that the results of Presbyterian Assembly will be known after a few days."

"Okay."

Mamen was very clear in his heart, he was very clear about their true purpose. But he wouldn't believe it, or he couldn't believe it. Mamen had been a news liaison officer for 100 years, and he had seen through the government's ideas. He could not speak.

It was not as simple as campaigning. The elders seemed to have released a large, bottomless net.

Mamen returned to the office to prepare for tomorrow's press conference. The office window was not closed. He felt strange that he had locked it before leaving. Mamen approached the window in confusion and leaned out her head. There was nothing outside except the eaves and the whirring wind.

"Don't move!" unknown where the sound suddenly came out.

"What?" Mamen was going to look around.

"I said don't move.Just listen to me."

"Fine.Who are you?"Mamen wouldn't move anymore.

"I am Billet."

"Holy crap,it's you! What are you doing here?"

"Your guard didn't allow me to enter. So I had to choose some abnormal way." Billet said.

"No....I mean why do you come to see me?"

"What's the result? And why did Eligor enter here?

"Firstly,I don't know the result either.Secondly,Eligor is allowed to enter the Pandemonium."

"He works in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Why did he run far away to Counsel?"

"No idea. They sometimes work together, discuss events."

"Come on,Mamen. You owe me a favor, forget it? When I was in the army, I saved your life. "Billet said.

Mamen remained silent for a moment, saying nothing. He quietly looked at the scenery outside the window, constantly rubbing his fingers.

"I am sorry,"Mamen said.

"Why?"

"Your brother failed.Sitri will replace him.It was Eligor's order.

"I thought you…... .doesn't matter.Replace?How?"

"I don't know.It could be a deal. Sitri will serve them something if he becomes pro guard. And Eligor was a spy.He hid for such a long time to utilize him."

"I knew it! I know he is not as good as he looks. I had a bad feeling about this. Kassifa might be in danger. And where is Eligor?" Billet asked.

"Eligor has gone to the Shadow Kingdom. He is going to meet Sitri," Mamen said.

"I will catch up with him," After Billet finished speaking, Mamen heard footsteps and tiles falling from the roof above. Mamen leaned out his entire head, only to see Billet's running figure at the end of the eaves.

The Shadow Kingdom was located at the most west of Hell. It was full of darkness and shadow creatures. It was the only area that was not exposed to sunlight. It was dark all year round, and residents obtained energy by absorbing the power of shadows.

The sunlight on the road gradually disappeared as Eligor drove the carriage. The surrounding brightness and visibility decreased, and the temperature became colder. The driver's mouth occasionally emitted cold air. The air seemed to be a bit frozen.

Eligor sat in the carriage, playing with a coin, gazing thoughtfully at the scenery. The coin rolled from the index finger to the pinkie, and then returned from the pinkie. He clenched the coin tightly. "The last piece just needs a move." Eligor said.

The carriage stopped, and the driver then opened the door. Eligor has arrived at the government building of the Shadow Kingdom, the Shadow Palace. The palace was in a cave. It was hidden underground. Dingshan was a dark mountain range. It was planted with black pine trees. There were crows and venomous snakes. There were two statues of door gods on the left and right sides of the cave entrance. The winding spiral stone staircase spiraled down to a depth that was not bottomed out.

Eligor bid farewell to the coachman and picked up his cane. He went to the meeting alone. Eligor walked down the steps with an expressionless expression and firm gaze. The entire staircase echoed with the impact of his cane."Ding Ding Ding."

The cold wind blew from below, and his suit and jacket danced in the wind. Eligor didn't seem to care about anything on the road at all. He looked straight at the destination, the room filled with the smell of death.

Sitri's room was very spacious and dark, with very low visibility, and only the torches on both sides of the walls brought some light. Eligor could barely see the seat in the center. The seat was two meters above the ground. There were 5 clearly visible scratches on the back of the chair. The chair was surrounded by purple water. Strange shaped gasses emanated from the water, making a sizzling sound.

"Hello there,Eligor. Do you miss me?" It was the dark, shivering sound that came from somewhere again.

"Good afternoon, Prince Sitri," Eligor said. Sitri's profile appeared on the wall with light behind the torch. It almost occupied the entire wall. Sitri's shadow extended his sharp claws and pointed a finger at Eligor. Whether it was due to light or something else, it extended its claws along the wall to the ground, directly in front of Eligor. Like a sickle shape and a crescent moon.

Eligor glanced disdainfully at the shadow, ignored it and directly stepped over to Sitri's seat. Eligor touched the seat with a cane and touched it with his hand.

"Nice chair is it? It was made by the best sculptor in all hell. You have been living a good day," Eligor said.

"You aren't here to talk about my seat, are you?"

"Would you be interested in being a pro guard?" asked Eligor.

"What did you say!" Sitri said. The silhouette on the wall suddenly moved quickly to the left, gradually becoming clear and large. The strong wind swept in with Sitri's questioning, mercilessly tapping Eligor's clothes and even blowing out the torch behind him.

Eligor waved his cane and instantly released an invisible energy that broke the wind and made it quiet. Eligor arranged his clothes as if nothing had happened, then raised them and slammed them on the ground, shouting loudly, "Vassago and his son Kassifa have threatened our interest. The Counsel have made a decision to choose you to fight against them as a pro guard."

"Then why should I listen to you?" Sitri asked.

"What are you worried about?"

"You guys turn your backs on Vassago, how can I make sure you won't betray me?"

"Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha——" Eligor laughed loudly and eerily.

Sitri was surprised by this move, or rather he became interested in Eligor. The silhouette turned into a frontal shadow of Sitri. His bloodshot eyes were fixed on Eligor.

"Betray? No,it's worthless. I abandon them. Loyalty is worthless, only benefits are eternal. They are indeed loyal to the country. But they also lost their value. Our interest relationship is already afraid of breaking down. They suffer for themselves. So before you lose your value, listen to our orders at your best!" Eligor said.

"You dare to threaten me!" said Sitiri.

A fiercer gust of wind roared, causing the entire room to roar. The shadows on the wall spread almost imperceptibly and broke through the wall. The torch exploded, and smoke immediately filled the air, causing the rubble to fly indiscriminately. The ground shook and shadows gathered together, gradually forming a person.

The shadows grew larger and larger, and the edges of Sitri were clearly visible, as if it had life, creating every part of his body. Hands, feet, head. Finally, the shadow burst like a deflated balloon, and red eyes appeared.

Sitri was two meters tall, one head taller than Eligor. He was wearing Samurai armor, with a breastplate, helmet, and armguard. He wore a triangular mask, with only his eyes and mouth visible on his face. He was wearing a dark purple cloak, installed on his left and right shoulders, which can wrap around his entire body. The cloak fluttered in the wind. His weapon was sharp metal claws on his hands.

"Your heart is also very eager for the position of the Pro Guard, isn't it? This is a rare opportunity for you. Help me, let's work together to reach the pinnacle. In a few years, those elders will be lonely, and then it will be my world. I really appreciate your abilities. Accept my terms and kill Vassago," Eligor said.

Sitri folded up his cloak, covered his whole body, and circled Eligor to look at him. The air was quiet, only the sound of two people breathing. Sitri, like a ghostly figure, unconsciously detours behind Eligor. He placed his paw on Eligor's right shoulder, and the sharp blade could almost penetrate Eligor's clothes. With a gentle movement, Sitri could cut a wound on Eligor's neck.

"I feel very confused about... about you. You are such a freak, Eligor."

"You have to.This is not a request, I am not asking for your opinion. Being trampled underfoot or stepping on someone else to ascend, "Eligor turned around and said.

"I could kill you right now."Sitri said.

"You won't.'cause that we will not have such a good deal again."

The two of them just looked at each other like this, saying nothing and doing nothing. Their eyes never left for a moment. Sitri's eyes were like a hungry and thirsty beast, ready to move. Eligor's eyes were like a scheming chess player who had already seen through the big picture, watching your every move step into his plan."humph——"

Sitri burst into a powerful force in an instant. He took out a cross shaped dart from his waist and threw it with great force.

The dart brushed past Eligor's head like a meteor, almost enough to blow it out. Eligor remained calm and effortless, indifferent to the flying darts. He didn't hide, not even blinking his eyes.

The dart flew through the room, straight into the clouds, and exploded at the top of the cave. The generals received orders and appeared in front of them from the shadow, kneed on one knee and asked:

"Your Highness, what can I do for you?"

"Prepare the army, prepare weapons. We're going to attack the Flame Hall."

"As your wish,your highness."

"Welcome to the endgame, Sitri," Eligor said.

A carriage full of imported goods came from the outer city of the kingdom. Inside was a merchant with excessive shadows. He specialized in import trade. Today he imported a batch of imported liquor. A few bottles of wine were bought from Flame City.

The merchant felt very puzzled, and the seller of Flame City seemed to be an outsider. He didn't know how to bargain. They were bought at a very cheap price. He may be in urgent need of money.

The carriage arrived at the customs, and the inspectors checked the documents and asked them to go with them. Before they leave, customs personnel remind:

"Starting from tomorrow, no one is allowed to leave the city without a government permit."

"How?I am a businessman. How can I make money without going out of town to purchase goods."

"I'm sorry, we're just following orders. Please cooperate with our work."

"Damn it! You might as well kill me." The merchant reluctantly cursed and left.

After the carriage left customs, a black liquid fell from under the carriage. After it fell to the ground, it quickly swam to a corner on the street. It was not so much a liquid as a seemingly ethereal mass like water the size of a wine barrel.

It gradually became afraid of expansion, becoming the size of an adult, and Billet broke out like a chick born from an egg. All the unidentified objects returned to Billet's hilt and became the blades of the Soul Blade. He concealed himself under the carriage through the Soul Blade to avoid inspection.

The handle of the Ten Thousand Soul Blade was forged from Obsidian, and was equipped with a blood gem that can absorb souls. The blade was composed of thousands of evil spirits and souls. Every time Billet defeated an enemy, the Soul Blade would absorb some of the opponent's soul and took it as its own. Because it was composed of souls, the blade overcame hardness with softness, changed multiple measurements, was as flexible as water, and was as sharp as a laser.

"Prohibit leaving the city? Such a coincidence. I'd like to see what kind of chess Sitri is playing,"Billet said.

At this moment, the patrolling guard approached, and Billet stretched the blade and hooked it onto the eaves of the building. He stepped on the wall and pulled the Soul Blade to climb the roof to avoid reconnaissance.

Along the way, Billet saw the streets filled with soldiers. The forces of the Shadow Kingdom were greater than usual. They seemed to be preparing for a war. The more Billet thought, the more uneasy he felt. He climbed to the tallest building, the Bell Tower, hoping to see more information.

The clock tower was located about 20 meters in front of the cave, and Billet could easily monitor Sitri's every move here. He was in a cold sweat, thinking about Eligor's rebellion and the sudden increase in the number of troops, and he may have stayed true until now. An evil political conspiracy. He dared not imagine. He really hoped to see Eligor just passing by here. He needed to confirm his guess.

Sure enough, the truth came to light. Billet lay on the clock tower in shock and dared not say a word. Eligor and Sitri walked out of the cave, chatting and laughing, and they shook hands. That was right, Eligor made Sitri a pro guard of eliminating Vassago and Kassifa

Sitri sniffed the air and looked around inexplicably. He rubbed his paws as if he had discovered something that excited him.

"I feel something, someting familiar. It belongs to the enemy!"Sitri immediately turned around and turned towards the clock tower, glaring at Billet's position with his terrifying eyes.

"Catch you!Attention everyone, at twelve o'clock, the enemy appears!"

"Pretty fast.Kill Billet, make sure he won't trouble our plan.Your army and I immediately make the portal to Flame City."Eligor said.

Sitri threw a dart and pierced the clock tower, instantly gathering dust and falling stone bricks everywhere. Billet made a back flip to dodge the darts, and then used weapons in the air to resist the other darts.

He turned the blade into countless small fragments and fired them. Sharp pieces from the sky would be like a meteor shower, and the army would not be able to respond to heavy damage. After completing a round of attacks, the fragments acted like a boomerang and returned to attack the enemy on their way again.

Billet's attack temporarily delayed the enemy's actions, buying him more time.

The gray layer dispersed, and there were limbs, arms, and damaged implements everywhere, except for a pair of red eyes. Sitri put away the cloak covering her head and patted the ashes of her armor. He was unscathed.

"Blood——what wonderful artwork.I will bleed you, dear Billet!"
