Chereads / Moon and Back / Chapter 23 - Chapter 22

Chapter 23 - Chapter 22

Thaddeus sat in the middle of it all—not in court, not at the dining table before his parents, not even before he had his play station—but right before a tied up Lisa. Not this again.

Could this be the end of the whole "moon and back" fantasy? Was this all that could possibly be of the two, once, or still?

Lisa lay there. Unconscious, kidnapped, and in love. At least that's what she thought about Thaddeus, the perfect lover. The one who did anything to protect her, even trying to kill her.

All that was in Thaddeus' head was,

"Does it really have to end here?" I still love this girl, but if the jury believes her story, all my scholarships will be cancelled, and all my perfect scores will mean nothing, because yes, I'll be in prison for God knows how many years."

You might be wondering, "How did all this start?"

"Thaddeus Calwell, age 18, is capable of killing three, of which the court only knows of two."

"Hey Andreas, glad you've been keeping track of your little half brother's whereabouts."

"Yeah always,"

"Did you know we are brothers?" Thaddeus asked about letting go of the hug.

"Even before we became friends,"

"Why didn't you tell me before?"

"Didn't want to destroy the facade your dad put on?"

"Facade ?"

"Trust me, there's more you don't know,"

"More ?"

"No, sir," Andreas grabbed Thaddeus' head, putting it in an arm lock while he patted his hair roughly.

Thaddeus giggled while he tried to escape his brother's lock. Yes, Thaddeus has a brother figure. Finally.

"I mean, he has more to hide, but slowly he will reveal," Andreas let Thaddeus loose.

Andreas lived alone with no sustainable job to suffice for this exquisite house, but he surely had enough.

"Where do you get all this money?"

"What do you mean by all this money?"

"I mean the house, the overpacked refrigerator." "It's like you live in a mansion alone."

"Oh, all this is from dad." He paid a slot just to keep it a secret. He bought me a house. "Perhaps it's just for sustainability."

"But when I asked him for a PS5, he said no."

"It's different,"

"You think," Thaddeus went on examining the house.

"How's Lisa,"    And that's where the whole brotherly love came to its flaws.

"It's been rough lately,"

"Oh, with the court thing,"

"Yeah, and tomorrow I'll have to lie to keep both my scholarships and liberty in check."

"Oh yeah, France isn't it?"

"Yeah, medicine,"

"And you've been keeping a perfect record,"

"Do you stalk me?"

"No dad is always bragging about his perfect son."

"Dad?"

"Thaddeus,"

"Sounds better, not like he isn't your dad just haven't got used"

"So how do you plan on getting Lisa back?" Andreas headed for the kitchen to make some snacks.

"I don't know; she hasn't been picking up my calls, nor has she read any of my texts."

"Oh...bummer,"

"Wait, what's the big secret you don't want her to know?" "Is it Candace?"

Just as Andreas anticipated, the expression on Thaddeus' face changed. It became a solemn brick frown.

Candace was Thaddeus's first girlfriend. Of course she was perfect—grades, hair, body, laugh—but one thing just said no.

His obsession.

Thaddeus would get on Candace's window every day, careful not to let her know anything. He would check if she was with another guy or girl and what they were doing.

When things were done, Thaddeus had this deep hatred. Not like she was cheating—just because she got tired of the angry stalker.

Classic   Thaddeus couldn't let her go just like that; he had to do something. something he regrets today. Something that made him and Andreas the best of friends was:

He killed Candace.

No funeral, no last whereabouts, nothing; it's like she disappeared into thin air. Did she?

Thaddeus Carnwell killed Candace with no mercy, no warning, and only one witness: Andreas Carnwell.

Thaddeus seems like a caring, handsome senior student, but what the public doesn't know is that the disappearance of Candace wasn't disappearing; it was disintegration.

in thin acid. where only Andreas knows. no one else. That's where molten Candace lies.

"No, don't talk about her," Thaddeus woke from the reminiscence.

"Sure, but what's the big secret?"

"I love Lisa, but I can't let her go." "I can't kill her like I did to Candace; she's the first girl I've ever loved."

Andreas came from the kitchen with cookies and milk to the living room, where Thaddeus stood in front of the mirror looking at a killer of three. Christopher,Candace and.....

"You know love is a powerful thing. Once you truly have it, you can't let go of it. "Once you let go of it, you can't have it like you once did."

"So now you're Shakespeare," Thaddeus snapped, sipping on the milk.

"No, I'm being serious." "If you truly love Lisa, you'll do anything to keep her with you."

"Does that include kidnapping?"

"I didn't say that I said anything,"

Both indulged in the cookies, and the thought went with their food. For Andreas, it did. For Thaddeus, it remained vivid in his head: Lisa had been kidnapped.

What was Thaddeus? His titles got a bit confusing. First, they were bipolar. Was he a killer or kidnapper?

Thaddeus stuck to one.

The third person Thaddeus killed remained a secret, or did he really die? No, he didn't? He was handicapped, but he still roams the streets.

Or she keeps roaming the street away from Thaddeus.

"You have to testify in court tomorrow, don't you?"

"Yes, I do."

"Okay, you can do it: save both your scholarship programs and your possible wife."

"Thanks,"

"Remember, I'll always be there for you, waiting for you with open arms."

"Thanks, bro."  It was the first time Thaddeus actually uttered these words meaningfully, like Andreas was his real brother.

"Oh and how is...."

Thaddeus was interrupted, and it seems Thaddeus wasn't the only one who had secrets.

"She's okay; I don't like talking about her."

"Cool,"

"Anyway, I need a free mind." Wanna play back-opps?"

"Cool, but beware; I'm a pro," Thaddeus boasted.

Lisa, on the other hand, was waiting in a long line just to get a soda and some other snacks. The soda was important because, for her cocktail recipe, it was the banger. Natasha was waiting for her in the car.

"What took you so long?"

"The queue is obvious,"

"Oryt," Natasha said it like it was a real word. so delicate, and with her lips tightened.

Soon it was evening, and Natasha had a hangover. Lisa drove herself home and walked home herself because she hadn't had any beer.

Suddenly, she felt a hard hit behind her. It hit her head so hard that she could barely feel the pain.

Damn.

What was happening now was that she hadn't had enough of this attempt to kill her.

And just as expected, Thaddeus was behind it; his new brother drove him after he lost the game. just as expected.

She lay there in Andreas' basement. Almost bleeding to death

"Are you sure you want to do this to her?" "Kidnapping her?" Andreas asked.

"No, I have no idea what I'm doing." Thaddeus hit the wall so hard that his fingers broke.

"Get her some ointment!" He shouted over the anguish.

"Lisa, are you alright?"

"Sorry I wasn't there when this happened,"

"What do you mean?" ... My head hurts."

The pain finally gave in.

"Someone tried to attack you, or did I find you on the road unconscious?"

Another lie.  This time, this lie was going to wash away all of the other lies and transgressions of Thaddeus Carnwell from Lisa's memory.

He now became the Thaddeus Lisa I once met. The guy she first met

Andreas came with a first-aid kit and some bandages.

"Who's this?"  Lisa asked, still feeling the excruciating pain on her head.

"This is Andreas; I'll explain later."

The throbbing pain got to her head and carried her consciousness with it.

"Lisa!"

"Lisa!"Thaddeus thought she had died.

"Don't worry, she'll be alright," Andreas continued cleaning her wounds.

"Just be calm." "What was I freaking thinking?!"

"Go have a drink," Andreas wrapped a bandage on her head after the blood was finally cleaned off.

Her phone kept vibrating. Her mother, Natasha, they all called.

Thaddeus didn't want to answer, raising suspicion. Correct your suspicions honestly.

The phone rang almost a hundred times. The more the texts.

Lisa laid on Andreas' king-sized bed. She was asleep.
