"So, Mr. Tendou. Is it true that you killed your own father?" A detective interrogated the 18-year- old boy whose eyes were only looking at the table blankly.
Both of Tendou's hands were on the table in handcuffs. However, he found this amusing because even if his hands were uncuffed, he wasn't sure he would do something like escape. The crime he had committed in his lifetime and the last time was probably because he had violently killed his father. Even so, it was not without reason, although it could not be used as an alibi to win the trial that he would get.
He then chuckled leaving the police confused. They thought that Tendou was laughing because he had killed his father. That was wrong, he regretted his actions even though he knew it was unforgivable.
A total of 3 stabs in the neck, 2 in the eyes and a dozen on the body were evidence of the brutal murder. Even some policemen couldn't bear to look at Urame's corpse.
"Why did you laugh? Are you a psychopath? Did you hurt your mother too?"
As the detective's question was being asked, the sound of a table being shifted with its legs dragging in the room was heard loudly, startling the detective and the police outside the room rushed inside.
It was Tendou who pushed the table with his whole body leaning towards the detective. His eyes glaring at the detective, he did not smile anymore and just remained silent in front of the detective's face.
"Yes, I'm the one who hurt my own mother."
The police then suppressed Tendou's body which was deemed to be dangerous. And in the end he was dragged back to his cell by the annoyed policemen. The police thought Tendou was just a freak who liked to commit crimes and do violence.
However, only the police were upset, not the detective. Since he knew what happened, he just wanted to know what Tendou would say if Tendou was cornered like that.
So the detective met Tendou quietly sitting in his cell later in the day. "Why did you lie?"
He did not answer. For days, the detective returned to the cell to ask Tendou the same question but couldn't find an answer. In the end, the detective offered him one: "I'll give you something. No, anything. I will grant your request."
With this offer, the detective had hopes of finding out the motive behind Tendou's lie.
Tendou, who was originally lying in his sleep, got up and walked towards the detective. They were separated by the cell, so the detective was not frightened if Tendou did anything to him.
Even if he stood in front of him, the detective didn't get an answer from Tendou because he was just standing in front of the detective silently looking at the detective's face.
Knowing that he wouldn't get the answer, the detective was about to leave him and decided that he would come back tomorrow with the same offer.
However, before he left he heard Tendou's words.
"Will I be sentenced to death?"
The detective did not answer. He paused for a moment after turning his body and wondered if he should tell Tendou the truth. He was curious to know what expression a murderer would make when they knew they were going to be put to death.
And of course the detective knew about Tendou's fate, because when someone kills another person brutally and cruelly like a serial killer, the judge wouldn't let it slide.
And that meant, the death penalty.
"That... depends on your answer." He lied.
"I heard that my mom lost a lot of blood and lost her eyes."
"Huh? You're right. But what..." The detective turned his head back slowly only to find an expression he did not expect.
Tendou smiled, the detective knew it was a genuine smile as if Tendou was a different person from the one who brutally murdered his father.
"I have one last request... please donate all my blood tomorrow and my eyes to her after I am sentenced to death."
By the look in his eyes, Tendou meant it very seriously, making the detective speechless and unable to take it seriously. It left the detective speechless and unable to respond to Tendou's words.
"What about the answer? Why did you lie about the crime to your mother? You didn't do anything, did you? I know that much, I have seen the video. It was your father's fault."
And once again he did not answer, but Tendou was not afraid because deep down he knew that the detective was not one of those people who thought he was superior to others. He still had a heart and had a sense of humanity towards others. He would definitely do it.
"I know, you will still grant my request even if you don't know the answer." Tendou smiled again and the detective was annoyed by that. The detective was upset because he felt as if his feelings had been taken advantage of by Tendou.
The detective was trying to convince the policemen and also the judge that the video was proof that it was self-defense for the little boy, but…
"Are you going to let that murderer wander around the city? People knew that he was the one who killed his own father and they would be scared of his existence"
"That is not the reason you shall sentence him to death, he is just a little boy and that video...."
"You are so naive, detective. What do you think about society? People won't let that slide, he will be exiled by the people and maybe get bullied."
"He still has a long way… "
"Detective. This world is rotten, one mistake and people won't ever forget that though you did a lot of good deeds before, my decision is absolute."
"Then what about the law? It was a self-defense"
The judge let out a big sigh, "The law… has been bought by society"
At that point, the detective realized that maybe it would be better if Tendou left this world as soon as possible. Because not even him could change the fact that society was the root of every problem in humanity.
And until Tendou's last day, even the detective did not know the motive behind Tendou's lies. Even so, he helped Tendou to donate blood and signed the form for Tendou's eye organ donation.
His last day was a day of mixed feelings for Tendou.
Tendou walked with handcuffs in his hands towards the place of his beheading. In front of him was the place where he lay and above him was a huge beheading device. He knew that his head would be cut off with it, but his body remained unshaken.
Several people were already jeering at him as a murderer except for the detective. Seeing this, Tendou had accepted his fate and lay down facing the beheading device.
Taking a deep breath he remembered his brother and his mother who had always loved him. He always prayed, had his brother not protected him back then maybe his family would have been fine even though he was the victim who had passed away. And his mother, she had already borne too much burden because of him. Therefore, Tendou always thought that it was better from the beginning...
He should be the one to die.
Tendou closed his eyes and moments later, the guillotine was dropped on him.
Tendou surrendered himself as he knew that he had lived enough and it was time to leave that life of hell behind...
But... Suddenly his body seemed to be oppressed by a very strong atmosphere and aura. He thought at first that it was the afterlife. At first he was afraid to open his eyes because he was surrounded by a cool breeze and kept enveloping himself with it. Was he afraid of what if there were demons in front of his eyes because of the sins he had committed? But... Wasn't the devil's place in hell, and wasn't hell extremely hot?
Slowly, he opened his eyes to find out what had happened to him. As he opened his eyes, he was shocked by people he had never met before surrounding him. Not only the people, the environment, the building and the vibes were very different.
He tried to get up from his bed because he saw a building that he had never seen in his previous life through the window. The room where he got summoned itself was very luxurious, the floor seemed to be made of glass, which was actually a stone that was only created in that world and the wall was made of diamonds. He immediately wanted to approach the place to get a closer look at it. However, he was suddenly startled by a shout from beside him.
"U-UWAAAGH!" The man beside Tendou then opened his eyes with sweat pouring out and a groan. "W-Where am I? I... am I not dead?"
Tendou tried to comprehend what had happened to the person beside him, was he also summoned to this world that Tendou had never seen before? A world that seemed more beautiful than the one he had previously lived in?
But indifferently, Tendou was only impressed by that world and he thought the presence of the person beside him had nothing to do with him at all.
"HEY! Answer me, where is this?" The man beside Tendou propped himself up with his hands which were still trembling slightly. In fact, not only his hands, but also his legs were shaking trying to stand up on their own.
The presence of that person alone made the royal guards anxious. How could it not be, the two people actually damaged and destroyed the body of Heda, one of the royal guards because of the amount of energy Heda needed to summon the two people. Especially if one of these people acts impolitely and has no manners in interacting.
And that was why the moment the person beside Tendou stood up and tried to approach the king, all the royal guards, who were still conscious, charged towards him with spears pointing at him.
"INSOLENT! HOW DARE YOU TO STAND IN FRONT OF THE KING!?" They raised their voices to the man who didn't seem fazed.
But instead of being frightened, a vein popped out in the person's angry face. "You don't need to point this toy weapon at me, punk."
However, the king was not deterred. He put his hands on some of the bodyguard's weapons and lowered them while walking towards the person.
"That information is unnecessary for you. All you two need to know is that henceforth, you are my slaves."
