Aurora just started breakfast and put the coffee on then she went to call Kane. She needed to inform him that they had an appointment to keep later. She knocked on the door but she couldn't hear his response. She put her ear to the door to hear if he was in
"What are you doing?" she turned around and leaned on the door when she saw his glare
"Hi..." Goddess, why does he have to be so
"I asked what are you doing?" she gulped and tried to get control of her breathing
"I wan- wanted to ask you for breakfast" She could see he was getting suspicious "I just needed to... Ah, inform you about something... Over breakfast, see you in the kitchen!" She squeaked and went past him, she looked back when the door opened and she reddened when she just saw he was wearing a towel then panicked and ran to the bathroom to see he indeed used it, and embarrassment flushed through her - his room, like hers didn't have a bathroom, oh goddess why didn't she think! Why didn't she clear up? And now she has to meet him in the kitchen. She cleared her things from the bathroom before going to the kitchen but stopped when she hears him, her heart beats ridiculously, too emotionally pressed to make her presence, so she leaves the room. When she's well on her way to calming down, she enters the kitchen
"My aunt's funeral is later today" She peeked up from pouring her coffee to see him freeze and his jaw tick
"OK..." he looked up to see her watching him and he relaxed his reaction "When do we leave and how long do we have to spend?"
She blinked and looked back to what she was doing "In a few hour's time and it will be maximum, maybe two hours but I doubt it" She hears his chair scrape and knew he got up
"Well I'll drop you off and pick you up, I have some things to do anyway" Then he left.
Aurora looked at him and gave out the breath she was so afraid to breathe, afraid of a bad reaction then she returned to eat her breakfast but couldn't put feeling in it.
Let's get one thing straight. Her family all belonged to one coven that spanned generations ago. You could say her family was the founders. Now it seems to be at an end. Because of her, because she's cursed. Well, not actually but... It seems like it. The coven never tolerated her when she was one of them and now, even with the funeral of HER aunt, they treat her like she's trespassing. At times like these, she just wishes to leave and forget about everything. They tried to push her away and she never even got to speak at her funeral! Plus, as her only family, it was Aurora's right to get her ashes but someone beat her to it. She cannot think past the anger that's flowering through her blood, like lava. She sat down but held her head when the headache started and she knew she'd have to calm down or she might hurt someone. She thought she was calming until she looked up to see no one in the vicinity and the loneliness made her anger boil until she screamed and let go... then collapsed.
She awoke to someone shaking her and sat up in a panic. It was Kane. She looked around and saw the deviation she caused and just felt hollow. Aurora stood up with Kane's help, who was his usual quiet self and that helped her now. She followed him in a daze but continued to look around her. Everything looked the way it does when there was a helicopter landing or taking off but frozen that way with all the trees and benches and tables broken and blown away. From past experiences, she knew it would be a circle meters apart and nothing would be able to be done until a cleansing was done by a whole coven. They made her feel like she was filth but she always wondered if a cleansing was needed after her disasters, then maybe they were right. If it could not be performed by two witches, which was the norm but the whole coven, then maybe she's definitely filth. She shouldn't worry about this, her coven, her old coven would take care of it, they would know what and who caused this and how to deal with it. Probably for the last time and Aurora is sure they would relish in it.
"you have no control of your powers. Nor do you know the extent yet but this will be taught to you soon. Have a rest, we leave early tomorrow"
She felt sick to her stomach knowing that in her limited time, she did not find her family's murderer and she will never be able to in the future.
Aurora was too tired to be feeling anything nor did she want to have company so she nodded and moved to her room. She sighed in dismay when she looked at her bed in longing but knew that she needed to wash this day away.
