Mr. Steve survived only because she put the potion and chanted the healing spell but he was stubborn and wanted to get up and wanted to know how she did the things she did and so did the rest. They kept quiet, watching as she approached with Mr. Steve, then among everyone's questions, she got her potion and started the healing and shocked everyone who witnessed his skin knitting and healing before their eyes. Now she sat uncomfortably after explaining that she's a witch
"If you can heal so well, why didn't you heal David and the rest?" she knew that question would be asked
"Unfortunately, I only have a little healing potion so it can only be used for life or death moments, like for Mr. Steve who would not have survived the half hour or so wait for the ambulance, David and the rest can"
"Did you kill those wolves? How did they fly away like that? What did you do? We just saw you throw your hand out and then they went flying away"
The one question she dreaded, never came, which was who and what was the other creature, and did you know him? You seemed to know him, but it seemed none of them saw him and it couldn't have been a cloaking spell because he was in the open
"Ah, it was telekinesis, moving things with the mind, you know" It was the best she could do, best not to complicate things or make it sound like it was a big deal or the truth, that she didn't know what she did or that she didn't even know she could do that.
"So now that we know what you are, I've been thinking, is Xavier really a vampire?" Robert pushed through the group to ask and Aurora sighed, again with another question she dreaded
"Look, we cannot feel whether another is supernatural or not, they can hide from us just as easily... But you can ask him if you think he's lying?" he shook his head and backed away, more from the disapproval looks pointed his way
"Why have you kept being a witch a secret? And why have so few witches announced themselves publicly?"
Well shit, this is probably one reason but she signed and answered "Because we like our space, and if we outed ourselves, we would be bombarded by everyone for questions, threats, help, blamed and hunted, etc"
"Help? Do you not want to help if you can?"
"There are things we cannot do but of course, we help when we can, like I did with Mr. Steve but it's my choice, I won't be guilted into doing it or not doing something and being hated for not doing it or asking for something in return for services or hated because I cannot be manipulated" they all stated in shock
"I guess I never thought of it like that"
When the others were asleep, Aurora tossed and turned, she was tired, her eyes even burned but she could not shut her mind off! Agh! Why did he come only to save her? He didn't seem at all interested in saving her teacher until she put herself in danger to save him. She saw him again when everyone was busy with the ambulance but when she went into the forest, a teacher spotted her and called her away, and gave her a stern warning. Her curiosity has to end because, in a few hours, she would be back home. It was only then that she thought that even though she told her aunt about the werewolves, she didn't mention Kane, she probably thought the reason she was needed here was because of the wolves but maybe not... Maybe it was to meet Kane.
"Are you there?" she blinked and looked at her aunt and then at the two gigantic orcs who were there to kidnap her.
"Physically yes, mentally, is debatable" One of the huge mountains grinned at her smart answer.
"Aurora..." sighed her aunt.
"Not to be a bearer of bad realities, but don't you realize that this is insane?" she looked at the mountains when she said that but the one that grinned before only raised an eyebrow, the other just, well stood there expressionless like a mountain. "Witches and wizards that are meant to participate in this event must belong to a coven, which, no choice of mine, I do not" She looked at her aunt for help.
"What she is saying is true, she has been kicked out and no coven would accept her so she cannot be called upon for this event, you must send my apologies to the high council"
They didn't want to leave but they know the rules and although she flinched when her aunt so gracefully explained why she could not go with them, she actually became grateful that she couldn't be chosen.
"Madam, I need to address this to the council and get back to you" he then left, indicating that he will be on the phone.
Aurora has no idea why they even came, it cannot be a matter of misunderstanding because she's been kicked out years ago and when she tried to get into another coven, non of them ever asked if she was transferring because she had to write the truth on the forms and say she was kicked out and they would still have to do their own research but non came to them, saying that she still falls under the Redington coven
"I just spoke to Mrs. Margaret and she informed me that it's no mistake, that you called them to help her get into a coven and this will help, at the end of this, she will be placed in a coven"
Her heart leaped hearing him saying that and she fell into her aunt's arms in happiness, she will finally be in a coven! All she has to do is the impossible though, Aurora is not a people person, she prefers to be on her own and she is not so good at making friends or keeping up a conversation so that would be a challenge but if it will get her noticed by the covens who might accept her, it'll be worth the headache.
