Chapter 27 - Lauren's Result

"Wow! A yellow Magic Gem!"

"Not only that, that gem also has a different shape! Look, it seems like a pentagon!"

Voices boomed in the galleries of the Awakening Temple as the first young people on the awakening platform saw their gems take shape.

Most of the people on the platform had formed ordinary Magic Gems, typically triangular, square, or circular in shape and often red in color.

However, some had formed slightly different gems, and one lucky young man even obtained a yellow gem!

The color of the gem was related to the quality of one's talent, so by having a Yellow Magic Gem, that blond-haired young man now immediately stood out among the crowd of people who had gone through an awakening.

People with yellow Magic Gems had exceptional potential compared to the majority of the people in this world. If they were lucky and worked hard enough, it wouldn't be impossible for them to become a Mage!

As for the pentagonal shape, this was a gem variant that was not as common as the other three shapes. As such, when that young man received it, it immediately became a topic of conversation.

Although the shape of the gem was not related to talent, it could still help in enhancing one's magical powers.

By possessing a Magic Gem of a rarer shape, this boy would be granted more unique abilities that would naturally be better than those with the most common three shapes of gems.

Through its help, he will have it a bit easier to reach the 3rd stage!

"Incredible! That youngster over there is not bad at all," someone who was watching through the exclusive room on the top floor of this building commented while watching the Awakening ceremony of this group.

"Indeed, we can consider recruiting him later," a red-haired man standing behind the person sitting in an armchair added.

The Awakening Ceremony wasn't just a time for young people to level up and gain mastery over their mana. It was also an opportunity for regional forces to identify and recruit promising talent!

In general, people with Magic Gems in the three most common formats and the colors Red, Orange, and Yellow didn't garner much attention because their potential would probably be limited at the 5th Acolyte Triangle.

However, youngsters with Magic Gems in other formats and of Yellow color or higher had the potential to surpass this limit.

With the potential to become a Mage, that young man was a valuable prospect to draw into local forces!

For these forces, people with lower potential were not enough to attract their attention, so they wouldn't recruit such people. However, Mages could be considered experts in this society.

Thus, there would always be observers in temples like this one and carry out the work of recruiting those people whom they were interested in recruiting after the Awakening Ceremony was over!

Vicente momentarily observed that young man who was already grinning from ear to ear, noticing how this person's Magic Gem had formed something relatively unusual.

However, he didn't think much of that person and turned his attention back to his sister, Lauren.

"Why is it taking so long for her?" Vicente muttered to himself.

The woman beside him overheard this and explained, "The Awakening typically lasts less than a minute, but the duration can vary greatly from person to person.

Some will awaken after only a few seconds. Others will take the whole minute.

Usually, this is associated with two things. One, the talent and magical form. Those with promising talents and more refined magical forms usually require more time to finish their Awakening.

The other case..." She hesitated for a moment and looked at Lauren with uncertainty, "The other case is associated with the inability to finish the process of Awakening.

Simply attracting a Magic Gem is not enough to finish or say the Awakening had been successful. One has to display the shape and color of his gem if it needs to be considered awakened.

So there is a possibility that someone who has drawn a gem might fail and cannot awaken their abilities."

As she finished saying this, Vicente's fists subconsciously clenched, and he took a deeper breath, fearing the possibility that this might be the case for his sister.

Considering all that had happened and his family's history of endless bad luck, he didn't think that possibility was behind the delay in the formation of Lauren's Magic Gem as well.

"Lauren..."

Meanwhile, Lauren felt her entire body grow warm, noticing the mana within her becoming agitated as if it were water bubbling up.

Except for her eyes, every part of her body seemed to be burning to the point where she was almost screaming in pain. However, her pain was not excruciating to the point where she had to show the world her weakness.

No, for someone who had been through everything she had experienced in the past few months, it would take much more to make her open her mouth and force her to scream.

So, to everyone in the surrounding area, her pain went unnoticed while she strangely kept her inexpressive expression.

Her eyes remained closed, her body still, her hands clasped without showing any signs of force.

Simultaneously, her mind was spinning while waves of desire to vomit came and went, trying to bring her down somehow.

'What is happening? Why am I feeling so strange?' She wondered, holding herself together with determination so as not to miss the opportunity to awaken her abilities.

Lauren didn't have any higher expectations from her Awakening, but she believed that she had enough potential to get a fully formed Magic Gem. Failing to get it would be a surprise to her.

However, she couldn't help but wonder since the sensations she was feeling in her body at the moment were not described in any of the books she had come into contact with at the Academy of Stars.

Nonetheless, the situation in her body drew the attention of a man who had been watching the platform.

A person who was fully dressed in black, with his face covered. He was all alone on the top level of that place, in one of the VIP rooms of the temple.

'This girl...' His eyes narrowed as he could see the mana flow in Lauren's body, and he stood up and went closer to the glass wall in front of him.

'Hmm, let's see what you will manifest.'

He watched as Lauren's mana concentrated on her forehead and continued watching, observing the glowing thing on her forehead which was gradually losing its radiating glow.

The Magic Gem had successfully merged with Lauren at that moment, with only 5 seconds left before the end of the Awakening Ceremony.

When it successfully connected to her, its glow diminished until the first people noticed Lauren's magical form!

"What?"

"That..."

"That's the Scythe!"

All the spectators on the top level of the Awakening Temple rose up from their seats to gaze at this very rare form of Magic Gem.

As their voices echoed, the gem on Lauren's forehead stopped glowing, revealing the shape of a fingernail-sized Scythe in an extremely vivid Green.

"Green! It's a Green talent!"

"Incredible! I never thought I would see something so unique and beautiful!"

"This girl has a victorious future ahead of her! With this Magic Gem, she will become a Mage in a few decades!"

Immediately comments boomed throughout all the levels of the temple, transforming the previously silent atmosphere into a cacophony of excitement.

Vicente was elated by this and almost cried with happiness for his sister, feeling the tension from moments ago go away as joy flooded his heart.

"Green! Plus, the shape is unusual!" he exclaimed as the woman beside him continued to look at Lauren with seriousness.

"Miss, my sister is a genius!"

However, that woman didn't look so happy for Vice and Lauren, "Hmm, I just don't know if this is a good thing for her or not, kid..."

Just when she had finished saying that, three individuals suddenly appeared around Lauren, immediately following the end of the day's Awakening Ceremony.
