JUNE'S POV
"aarghh" I groaned and switched off my alarm. I sat up from the bed feeling very sleepy. I was only able to sleep at the early hours of the morning because I kept on picturing a particular face I didn't want to.
"get yourself together June" I told myself then got up to go get ready for work.
I did my morning business, brushed my teeth, had my bath.
It was time to pick a dress and I found myself looking through my clothes for something "wow". I love fashion and looking good but today was a little different because I found myself looking for an outfit that will make me stand out or "maybe call the call Matthew's attention" a voice said at the back of my mind and I just had to ignore it. I settled for nude corporate trousers, a really white chiffon shirt and some red pumps. I put my phone and necessary stuffs in my red bag. I put on some studs and a simple silver necklace. I decided to pull my hair into a high ponytail and I applied some mascara and lipgloss. I looked at my reflection and I looked super cute.
Breakfast was the next thing on my mind, I popped some bread in the toaster and went to prepare my coffee. I decided I needed some protein so I fried two eggs. My toast was ready and so was my coffee. I ate quickly and washed my dishes. I picked up my bag and left my apartment, locked the door and headed for the flight of stairs and feeling grateful that I didn't run into Henry. We have been neighbors for a while and he seems pretty nice but then he asked me out once and I was turned him down with the excuse that I was not ready for a relationship. He has been extremely nice to me since then and it just has been weird, well maybe for me but he seems to not want to give up.
I got to the ground floor and boarded a taxi to work. I was glad that I made it on time to work.
*************
I was buried deep in work when I heard tap my table, "yes, how can I help you?" I asked without looking up.
"Miss June, am here for my internship and I was told I will be under you, hope you remember?". I heard that smooth baritone voice that made my knees buck under me.
"Oh yes, of course I remember. Matthew right?" I asked with the composure I had left.
"Yes,hope you are having a good morning Miss June"
"Yes I am and June will be just fine"
"Okay, June"
"So have you been assigned a working space?" I asked trying to remain professional
"Yes, it's right by your cubicle" he said pointing to the next cubicle
"Oh okay" I said starting to worry about how will work with him in such a proximity.
"So... I will leave you to get back to work" He said before stuffing his hands in his pocket and turning around to leave.
"Yeah, sure" I said in barely a whisper.
Today is surely going to be difficult. I could smell his cologne that was lingering in the air and it was pure masculinity. I tried to concentrate on the work I had on my table and not think of him.
