Chereads / Ruin's Embrace: The Darkened Legacy / Chapter 11 - The Unforeseen Battle

Chapter 11 - The Unforeseen Battle

Mazino sat in a downtown bar, contemplating the current situation

He was unaware of the dangers that lay beyond the walls of the city called "The Flame." However, he was certain that it was something dangerously significant, with a very low survival rate.

Yet, he was not the type to fear danger. Throughout his life, he had been the very embodiment of danger. Now, the first floor presented an opportunity to build his physique.

"I like this idea. My body has always been a priority in my previous life on Earth. It's a good chance to improve this body. Damn, this system aligns perfectly with my requirements."

The decision was made. He would gamble his life on this training, but he wouldn't stray too far from the city for emergency situations. If things got out of control, he could quickly return here.

"We'll see what's outside first."

Damn it! Above the giant city walls, a young man appeared, his eyes filled with determination, strong will, and many hopes. However, his gaze turned into astonishment.

"Damn it, this is completely unexpected."

Outside the city limits, the land was cracked, dry, and intensely hot. It was like a living barbecue.

But what was even stranger was the war that was raging in the entire area. Countless species of creatures were within sight.

However, Mazino distinguished two: the orcs and the gillans.

A war of physical strength.

Damn it, these things seem intelligent, and there are so many, so, so, so many.

I didn't even consider counting the number of creatures because it's simply impossible. I don't know the limits of what my body can do against these creatures. But damn it, this is unfair. They have weapons, but I am empty-handed.

Oh well, I don't care for that cursed justice anyway. Who cares about justice if you can't survive? The beginning will be extremely difficult. I sense it. These things excel in close combat...

I watched the battle for a while, but damn it, as expected, these creatures are incredibly strong. They look like an army from hell. What would happen if they used energy?

I thought about it because they seem incapable of using energy, just like me. Hahaha...

Suddenly, a massive golden hammer appeared out of nowhere, about 100 meters in length. It crashed onto a large portion of the army.

Everything was flattened to the ground in seconds. A widespread earthquake occurred in the area. Damn it, damn it, damn it, you must be joking with me...

Wait, what's on the ground? The hammer exploded, and another person emerged from the ground.

It seemed like he was the target of the attack. Blood spewed from his mouth, and he raised his head with anger, then suddenly vanished. There were numerous clashes between him and the first person who attacked with the hammer, but they disappeared completely, and both sides fled the area immediately.

Damn it, I'm almost losing hope completely. I'm a hundred percent sure of it.

Those two can use energy.

But since their appearance, no others have shown up even after observing for some time. From this, I inferred that this place has some exceptional individuals.

They are incredibly powerful and can use energy. They overwhelmingly surpass everyone else. Hahaha, damn it, this is becoming truly enjoyable. How will fights to the death occur in this world? I haven't reached the point of life and death here yet.

Immediately after, Mazino jumped to the ground. The walls were extremely high, but his physical strength was still somewhat unknown. The Shinsoo energy flowing in his blood was not something to be underestimated.

Without utilizing energy, he possesses relative strength. However, the challenge lies in the fact that he is not engaged in one-on-one combat. Even if he is powerful, the danger remains significant.

Curses! I am against the entire first level. I have received information from the system that Mazino is considered an enemy outside the walls. The different species involved in the war may set aside their conflicts and unite against Mazino. That's how things work on the first level. Therefore, establishing a clan is necessary. It is simply impossible to win alone.

But Mazino doesn't even acknowledge such nonsense. He proceeds towards the center of the battle without hesitation. Without thinking, he delivers a punch to the abdomen of one of the giant orcs in his path. The orc retreats about 20 steps, with a hole in its stomach, and falls dead immediately. However, it doesn't matter because at that moment, dozens and hundreds of punches and kicks are directed towards Mazino from various directions.

Boom!

The ground beneath Mazino's feet explodes from the pressure, and he vomits blood due to the severity of his injuries. However, his eyes suddenly glow. Although the situation is not very clear, he notices it. When he killed that orc, some red energy threads emanated from its body, enhancing Mazino's muscles and bones. The effect was very weak, barely perceptible, but it is true. And that means one thing: this battle is immensely beneficial for his body. So, this is the purpose of the first level after all.

But there is no time to dwell on it, as these monsters haven't given him any chance to breathe. They pounce on him like an easy prey, like ants. However, what they didn't anticipate was the devilish smile that spreads across his face from ear to ear. Mazino sees them as a means to develop his body, while they see him as a common prey.

Boom!

Crack!

The sounds of collisions are heard everywhere. Despite Mazino being in an unfavorable position since the beginning, he can feel it. With each monster he kills, his strength increases. The enthusiasm within his heart rises, and a bloody battle begins.

He endures savage blows that leave him barely recognizable with his swollen face. However, he continues to smile. With each strike he takes, he gains strength. He has been stronger than many of them, but they outnumber him.
