Chapter 3 - Chapter Two: Reunion of Strangers

Susan Hopkins stepped off the private jet and onto the tarmac at Heathrow Airport. Her heels clicked against the pavement as she adjusted her sunglasses and surveyed the city skyline. It had been years since she set foot in London, yet the memories came flooding back in an instant.

The laughter she and Sanchez used to share as children echoed in her mind. The stolen glances, the whispered promises, and then… his betrayal. Or so she believed.

Susan wasn't the same naïve girl anymore. She was a successful entrepreneur, having carved a path for herself in the global tech industry. Her father, still a prominent business partner to the Oliver Twist family, had urged her to make peace with Sanchez. But peace was the last thing on her mind.

As her car pulled up to the towering Cruz Oil headquarters, Susan felt a knot tighten in her stomach. She wasn't here for business. She was here to confront the boy who had left her broken-hearted all those years ago.

Inside the building, Sanchez stood by the window, watching the city buzz below. When his assistant announced Susan's arrival, he took a deep breath. The door opened, and there she was.

Susan walked in, her head held high, her presence commanding the room. Sanchez felt his heart skip a beat. She was more beautiful than he remembered, but her eyes held a coldness that hadn't been there before.

"Susan," he said, his voice betraying a mix of surprise and nervousness.

"Sanchez," she replied, her tone sharp. "It's been a long time."

He nodded, unsure of what to say. The silence between them stretched, heavy with unspoken words. Finally, she broke it.

"You owe me an explanation," Susan said, her eyes blazing. "Why did you leave without a word? Why did you let me think you abandoned me?"

Sanchez opened his mouth to respond, but the weight of his past and the truth he had hidden for so long threatened to choke him. How could he tell her about the loss, the pain, and the decisions he had made to protect her from the chaos that had consumed his life?.
