Chapter 6 - Missing Peace

She's always felt the unnerving chill that lingers in the air, even when the warm summer wind blows. Though she can't explain why, there's something off about the place; a sense of wrongness that never quite fades away.

The woods that border her small town are cursed, they say; ancient and malignant spirits whisper from deep within its shadows. They tell her to stay away, but she can't help feeling drawn in.

One night, after a dare from her friends, she finds herself trekking into the forest's depths. She hears screams echoing around her as the trees close in and what used to be home is now a living nightmare. Her heart is pounding and she feels cold sweat running down her back as she pushes on.

Finally, after what feels like hours, she reaches a clearing and finds an ancient shrine in the center of it all. She steps forward, curious yet fearful. But when she approaches the altar, something unexpected happens - peace washes over her, and calmness descends upon her. At that moment, she understands why she had been so drawn to this place.

So if you ever venture into the woods, know that peace and horror can coexist within its depths. You just have to be brave enough to seek it out.
