The light from his house shined lightly as a click from the gate surrounding his house was heard.
He sighed while grabbing his head as he unlocked the door.
"I'm home." He called. He sat on the floor slowly untieing his shoes. The longer he spent here the longer he could avoid his mother. He took off his rain-drenched hoodie and walked up the stairs that led to his room. His somber room completely contradicted his personality at school, He seemed like a snarky and egoistical handsome young man but in reality, he was just a small weary someone who didn't want to deal with anything.
There was a knock at his door as he sat up from his slumped state.
"It's open." He answered.
His mother walked in and sat down next to him.
"The counselor called me." She said looking at Haruto who was bracing himself for the loud remark that was about to come out of her mouth.
"She said that you were called into her office for your 'indecent thoughts'" She continued.
"And, I know you're at that age, where you're becoming more curious." She mindlessly spoke as Haruto looked at her like she had grown a horn.
"What exactly are you trying to say here?" He questioned.
"Well.. You've been having problems at school and.." She paused.
"Your father has gotten a new job, a fresh start for him, so we thought it would be a good idea if you.. Well, transferred." She finished.
"Problems at school?! What problems?!" Haruto shot out as he quickly rose from his spot beside his mother.
"Haruto--"
"I've been a good student since day one!" He continued cutting his mother off.
"Har--"
"I'm always turning in work on time, or even before the deadline! So how am I, one of the most popular guys at sc--"
"HARUTO." His exclaimed his mother, making him fall back into his quiet and weak state.
"YOU DON'T HAVE ANY FRIENDS, THAT'S THE PROBLEM." She continued, her voice still raised. His hand began to shake as his mother didn't change her tone.
The older woman sighed. "Your transferring. That's that." She said as she stood up and slammed the door behind her. Haruto sat down on his bed, his hand not ceasing to shake.
How was he going to create the idea that he's a mentally strong student at the new school?
