I had a restful night's sleep and woke up to the sound of heavy knocks on my door. It seemed I had slept longer than I intended. Nonetheless, the tranquility I experienced was worth it.
I quickly straightened my hair and smoothed out my clothes to uphold the appearance of the powerful cultivator that I was. As I made my way to the door, I realized that it was none other than Zhang Ning and Zhang Li Mei.
"We thought you'd turned into a hermit in your office. Do you know it's almost noon?" Zhang Ning jested.
I blinked a couple of times, slightly taken aback. "Really? Finally, a peaceful sleep without any disturbances," I replied with a grin.
There was a brief silence, and then Zhang Ning continued, "Anyway, we just wanted to make sure you were still alive. We also brought some lunch for you. It's downstairs in the kitchen."
Their thoughtfulness touched my heart, and I couldn't decline such a kind gesture. "I'll head down in a bit," I assured them.
