The roar made my body shiver, and I was scared of the beast that might come to get me. But because of my quick thinking and overall speed, I managed to return to the ground without getting attacked, which was awesome.
Ma Chen heard the roar as well, so he quickly asked, "Are you alright? What was that roar?"
"Probably a spiritual beast, but it did not find me. Ma Chen," I said with a smile, "I saw the direction we must go. It is that one!" I pointed toward a direction that I assumed was north because of the sun's position. Ma Chen looked at me, his eyes filled with concern. "Are you sure?" he asked, his voice tinged with doubt. I nodded confidently, my heart pounding with a mix of excitement and fear.
"Trust me," I reassured him, "I've never been more certain of anything in my life. I saw the way out at the horizon far from here."
