Noble Consort- Emperor's favourite wife and first love. Mother of the third prince.
Noble Lady- the lowest ranked legitimate wife of the Emperor. Mother of the fourth prince. A princess of another country that was conquered by Aushasal and very sickly.
Prince Hagian- First Prince, 24 yrs.
Prince Hakian- Second Prince, 22 yrs.
Prince Anakin- First Male Lead. Third Prince. Emperor's favourite son. Initially the right general of the Northland Army, later becomes the Commander of the Northland Army. 22 yrs.

Princess Ayslin- The only child the Emperor shows affection for except for the third prince, 18 yrs.
Grand Prince- He is older than the Emperor but was disqualified from inheriting the throne because he developed a limp from a childhood injury caused by the current Emperor.
Princess Eretria: She is the daughter of the grand prince (the Emperor's older brother). Has lower status than Princess Ayslin who is born to the Emperor.
Prince Kohan- Son of the Grand Prince, has lower status to the princes born to the Emperor.
