Chapter 54 - A Lady Leya

Two days have passed since the funeral. Most of the guests have returned to their homes, but some remain in the capital.

The dining room is heavy with silence once again. On the table, the Noble Consort's specialties including lotus cakes and other dishes are spread out. For the past two days, she's made these same dishes, hoping Anakin would finally visit. Yet, there is still no sign of him.

Attendant Nan gently breaks the silence, saying, "Your Highness, perhaps you should retire to your bedchamber now." She glances out the window, her expression tinged with sympathy. "I don't think His Highness will come today."

The Noble Consort sighs. "Has he been to see His Majesty?" she asks.

Attendant Nan shakes her head. "I heard he hasn't been to the palace since the funeral."
