Gatsby felt like his legs were working like he was forty. He's just fifty but he felt so youthful around her daughter and Lesley. For him, Lesley was his oldest daughter.
He heard that Zoe doesn't own a lot of luxury items. It was Lesley who bought it with Donovan's money. It wasn't even luxury, just top-grade things that she chose. But this one was different. They went to the most luxurious store and bought anything for the girls.
Zoe only wanted a few gifts for her friends. Gatsby didn't care how much she spent. It's only one percent of their wealth that she's spending. He's so kind that he even gave Maria money to build the house where those people who mistreated Zoe were currently living.
"How about a house? We can find a bigger house than the current one that you are living in."
"Papa, no. I want a house somewhere else,"
"Where?"
"I will always want to live with Lesley."
Gatsby smiled and patted Lesley's back.
