I was not tied up and I did not have any wounds or bruises.
I also don't feel any physical pain that I wonder about.
The first thing that came to my mind was that I was kidnapped.
But isn't it too weird for the kidnapper to leave me alone in a car without any rope that'll keep me in place or a handcuff to at least make it hard for me to escape?
Another thing is, why the heck am I in the middle of a dark and empty road?
It's also not familiar to me.
I can't remember if I've been here before.
I tried to open the door, and I was not mistaken, it was not locked.
And just when I was about to push the door open, a hissing sound made my eyes grow wider. I searched for the source then, and my eyes widened even more when I saw the snake coiled around the steering wheel of the car.
It's now looking at me.
And it's not the time for me to let my eyes grow bigger; I have to leave.
I had to get out to avoid that snake.
Because of panicking, I even kissed the dirty road when I finally pushed the door open. I grunted with the impact.
I looked inside the car.
I turn only to see that the snake is approaching quickly in my direction. Left with no other choice, I kicked the door with all the courage I had left.
I was shocked when the blood of the snake stuck in the door spat out on my face. Its body was torn in half, leaving its head on the ground. I withdrew my foot when its head almost reached where I was helplessly crawling.
Oh my gosh!" I uttered.
Despite my trembling knees, I forced myself to stand up.
I quickly ran away from the car.
From a distance, I saw the shadow of a man. It was standing in the middle of the road and seemed not to move.
I smiled and was about to get his attention when my eyes caught what he was carrying.
An ax.
Oh gosh.
My smile faded when the silhouette moved. I gathered all my remaining strength to run in the opposite direction.
I gasped as I ran away from whoever that person was. In the end, it's better to be safe than sorry.I even stepped on the snake's head when I passed the car where I woke up earlier.
Blood splattered on my foot.
But I couldn't care less. My heart is racing inside my chest. Sweat is dripping all over my face. My hands are already cold, and my knees are almost shaking.
I ignored my shaking knees and continued running.
When I reached the darker part, I suddenly fell down. My knees are bleeding.
My chest throbbed twice as I saw his hands raised, holding the ax and ready to thrust into my body.
I clasped my arms as if I could protect myself with that.
I screamed at the top of my lungs.
Then suddenly, I felt a hand on my face, gently slapping my jaw.
Chasing my breath, I turned away from lying down. Camilla and Lily's worried faces flashed at me.
"Miss Aya, you're having a nightmare. It's a good thing we thought of buying a midnight snack and coming here." Lily stated.
I rubbed my forehead. "It was just a dream."
