Chapter 19 - (18)

I was already at the end of the agenda list when it was clearly focused on the company's expansion.

"Camilla." I call my secretary, who is now standing behind me.

She quickly approached me.

"Yes?" My curious question: "Is the company expanding its branches or are we building another one as a sister company?"

"Didn't you read the folder I sent you yesterday?"

She asked back, confused. "Huh?"

Shoot.

I just realized now that I had forgotten at home the box containing some other unreadable documents.

I think I have scolded myself a few times. How can I forget about the box I brought home? Maybe if I just left it in the gallery, Lily might send it to me. "I forgot." I smiled and rubbed my own forehead.

"Is everything alright?" My brother asked, approaching one vacant seat. "Why do you look indebted, Aya?"

He pulled one chair right in front of where I'm sitting. I saw a glint of concern in his eyes.

I sighed in disbelief at my own deed. "No, brother. I just forgot about the box I had the other night. I didn't bring it before. I left it at home. "

"Oh, you can have it delivered here." Should I text one of our maids to have it delivered here? "

"No, it's fine. Those aren't urgent yet." I answered.

"Alright. You said so. "

We waited a few more minutes before several boards entered one by one.

My eyes remained on the folder I was reading while my older brother stood up again to answer another call.

"Good afternoon." A board member greeted me.

I shifted in my seat to greet her too. "Good afternoon." I said, trying to look welcoming and give her a slight smile.

"Good morning, ma'am." Camilla greeted.

Soon everyone arrived, including Mommy and Daddy, who were both wearing corporate suits. I smiled as I greeted the both of them, and they also responded with the same smile I had.

"Good afternoon, everyone. Let's start." Dad announced after settling into our seat at the edge of the long table. Mom was sitting on the left, just next to Dad.

I didn't mind sitting quite far from them my older brother and I just sat next to each other and didn't bother to move.

The head engineer stood up and gracefully walked to the front where the white board is located.

There was a projector ready there, and he fiddled with the laptop for a while before projecting the presentation he had prepared. I took a minute to observe her.

She's wearing a white formal dress that ends about two inches below her knees. Like mine, her dress is also topped with a coat, almost the same color as her dress. It's just a bit different, maybe cream or another shade of light color next to white. Her make-up is not too obvious, as if it's only applied at the last minute and was not given an effort though it looks good on her.

I stopped paying attention to him and just closed the folder I was holding and laid my folded hands on top.

She started presenting her piece.

I'm not an engineer myself, but I can say I'm impressed with her presentation. From the main point of the agenda down to the very small details of the expected new project,

Occasionally, someone raises their hand to ask a question.
