Chapter 6 - The Path to Star Warrior

As the system had told him, this world wasn't a Wuxia realm filled with immortal cultivators and world-shaking abilities.

Here, cultivators were known as Star Warriors.

The cultivation system in this world was both simple and profound. Star Warriors were divided into nine ranks, each representing a different level of power:

1-Star Warrior

2-Star Warrior

3-Star Warrior

4-Star Warrior

5-Star Warrior

6-Star Warrior

7-Star Warrior

8-Star Warrior

9-Star Warrior

Each rank had four substages: Early, Middle, Late, and Peak. Progressing through the ranks involved increasing one's physical strength, speed, and mastery over cosmic energy.

If he wanted to enter the 1-Star Warrior stage, Luke would need to meet the following requirements:

**Strength:** 100 kg

**Speed:** 10 m/s

**Cosmic Energy:** 100 units

"In terms of physical strength, I'm not far from reaching the 1-Star Warrior stage," Luke mused. "But my speed and mastery over cosmic energy still need work."

He sat down, brow furrowed as he contemplated how best to allocate his efforts. "I need to improve both my speed and cosmic energy," he muttered, determination creeping into his voice.

"I can only use the cultivation function to boost my strength, but I need a way to earn points."

Currently, Luke had 0 God Points, making it impossible for him to level up.

He called out inwardly, "System, what's the conversion rate for God Points?"

Moments later, the familiar voice of the system responded, **[100 God Points can either increase physical strength by 10 units, speed by 1, or cosmic energy by 50 units.]**

So every time he spent 100 God Points, Luke could increase either his physical strength by 10 units, his speed by 1, or his cosmic energy by 50 units. With this information in mind, Luke knew he would have to strategize carefully to level up efficiently.

He rubbed his chin thoughtfully. After calculating the amount he needed to advance to the 1-Star Warrior rank, he realized he required around **750 God Points.**

"Where am I going to get that many God Points?" Luke pondered, his mind racing to find a solution.

*Ding!*

Suddenly, his thoughts were interrupted by a notification that flashed in his mind.

**[New Task Available]**

Luke's eyes lit up with excitement. This could be the opportunity he needed! He quickly opened the system interface, eager to discover the task.

The task details appeared before him.

**[Task: Path to Growth]**

**[Objective: Improve your physical strength and speed by engaging in rigorous physical training for a week.]**

**Details:**

- Bench Press: (0/10 sets)

- Squats: (0/10 sets)

- Sprint Intervals: (0/100 meters)

- Leg Press: (0/10 sets)

- Leg Curls: (0/10 sets)

**[Don't miss leg days!!] :)**

**[Reward: 1,000 God Points]**

"Fuck!" Luke cursed under his breath, staring at the task details. "One thousand God Points? That's a tempting reward, but ten sets of each exercise? Are you trying to kill me?"

He took a deep breath, feeling a mix of frustration and determination. "I'm not a bodybuilder! I'm just trying to become a Star Warrior here!"

The numbers on the task interface loomed over him like a mountain he was expected to climb. "Bench press, squats, sprints—why the hell do they have to make it so intense?" He envisioned himself struggling through the last few sets, his muscles screaming in protest.

"Can I quit?" he muttered. "Is there any way to opt out of this madness?"

"Ugh! Why do they have to be so many?" Luke groaned, rubbing his temples in exasperation. "Ten sets for each exercise? Who even has that kind of stamina? I might die halfway through!"

The system chimed in cheerfully, **[Remember, no pain, no gain!]**

"Yeah, easy for you to say!" Luke shot back, feeling the pressure mount. He closed his eyes, envisioning the physical exertion awaiting him.

"What am I even thinking? It's not like I have another option! I can't just sit around and hope for a miracle. If I want to become a 1-Star Warrior, I have to push through this."

*Sigh…*

Luke took a deep breath, trying to calm the whirlwind of thoughts racing through his mind. "I'll start tomorrow," he decided, recognizing the need to mentally prepare for the rigorous training ahead. "For now, I'll wait for Mom."

In this world, Luke had only his mother and one sister to rely on. His father had died when he was just a child, a tragic victim of a wild beast while hunting in the wilderness.

He still recalled the hushed whispers that followed the news of his father's death, the solemn faces of their neighbors, and how his mother had held him and his sister tightly that night, as if afraid the darkness might swallow them whole. His father had been a 2-Star Warrior, respected in their small community, but his untimely death had left an unfillable void.

The wilderness was a treacherous expanse, filled with dangers both known and unknown.

His mother, an ordinary woman in her thirties, had worked tirelessly ever since. Juggling two jobs, she had poured herself into providing for the family, sacrificing her own desires for the sake of her children.

Despite the weight of the world resting on her shoulders, she always managed to greet them with a smile, her love shining through the exhaustion.

Luke often worried about her well-being. "Mom should be back in a couple of hours," he thought, glancing at the clock. He could already imagine her coming through the door, tired but cheerful, ready to cook dinner and listen to whatever trivial events of the day he felt like sharing.

His sister, on the other hand, was a shining example of talent and intelligence. Unlike Luke, who felt average in every aspect, she excelled academically and had earned a scholarship to one of the best colleges in the city.

Her grades consistently topped the charts, and she was even preparing to move into her college dorm soon. At the same age as Luke, she had always been the family's shining star.

"She won't be here today; she'll stay in her dorm tonight. I guess it's just me and Mom," he muttered, glancing at the task details still floating in his mind.

"If I want to become a Star Warrior, I have to push through this." Luke's resolve solidified as he thought of his family.

Not just for the family from his past life, but this family too; he was Luke from that Earth and this new Earth. His feelings solidified even more after regaining all his memories.

This woman was his mother, his real mother, and so was his sister.

His goals now weren't just about getting back; they also included improving his mother and sister's lives.
