Chapter 32 - 31

THIRD PERSON POINT OF VIEW...

"Jane!" The voice of Diego followed after the departing figure, form hurrying after hers.

The young man felt a mess, as eyes from every corner followed after his form, watching as he dashed after the young lady.

"Jane" She was only a few steps out the door, when his hands had managed to put her to a halt, his eyes soon taking a hold of her profile.

"I'm sorry. I tend to misunderstand ladies" The young man rushed his words.

"I should have known it's not a good place to make such move"

"It's not just about that, Diego" The words of Jane poured out, eyes finally meeting his.

"You're a nice guy. There is no denying that, but— She let out a sigh, eyes soon turned away.

"I would only be doing you wrong by lying to you and leading you on" She let out.

There came a long pause, a sigh pouring out her lips, and in a low voice, she began.

"I've got feelings for someone else"

Her utterance had his eyes peering on at her profile, gaze searching through hers, while he listened to her words tumble out—Those words that were a prick at him.

"And I'm left uncertain.....but I know how much these feelings I bear for the person are"

By the doorway, soon came a figure stepping out. With gaze directed at the forms of Diego and Jane, Kristoffer was left watching in silence.

"I can't lie to myself, Diego" The words of the young lady were low, eyes staring on at the form before her.

"And I swear you're a nice person. You really are" She sighed, turning away from him.

"But there's someone else"

Those words were low, but Kristoffer managed to catch onto it so well, with eyes holding onto the figure of the lady away, he peered on, watching the sadness that had crossed those eyes, and right then did that gaze snap up, finally meeting his.

For a long minute, their gazes held, peering on at each other, neither looking away.

There came a lot with that gaze Jane beheld. A lot she wished to linger back and understand just well.

She wished to reel in those eyes, listen to him speak once more. Utter a word, any word. Instead, she found herself turning around, taking the path that led out the yard of the restaurant.

"Jane!" The voice of Diego broke out. "At least let me drop you off" He called after her, but her figure was already proceeding away, not stopping for a moment.

A weak sigh poured out his lips, eyes watching as she went further out of sight.

A form had soon pulled up right next to Kristoffer, the eyes of Maddison at once beholding Jane's departing profile.

"Is everything alright?" Her hands snaked around his arms, figure inching closer to his.

"I should take you home, Maddison" Followed the voice of Kristoffer.

"But we only got here" She let out at once, while his hands tugged at hers, as he led her to the car.

"Kris!"

"I need to attend to something, Maddison"

"We should get you home" He called in a low voice.

He paused after realizing she was no longer tagging along, and when he turned around, he found her peering on with questioning eyes.

"Is there something you should tell me, Kristoffer?"

"What do you mean?"

"You know what I mean" She had called at once, arms folded across her chest.

"You and Jane"

Her eyes gaped on at him, realization soon crossing her eyes.

"There is something going on, isn't there?"

"Maddison"

"I should have known at the party" The voice of the girl followed, eyes holding onto his.

"The way you looked at her" Her words were low, with gaze directed his way.

"And now, I find you leaving our table, only to come out here, for what reason, Kristoffer?"

When no response came from him, she let out a low scoff, eyes rushed with disbelief, questionings and a hint of amusement, and in a low voice, the lady followed—

"Please take me home"
