"You had your secretary spread on the couch of your office, while you made out with her? Where is your dignity!?" The voice of the woman poured out strong, eyes holding onto the calm ones of Kristoffer.
"That wasn't my secretary, mother. That's the company's marketer"
"Oh, even worse" She flung her arms in the air, figure moving to have a seat by the desk.
"Why are you here, mother? And I thought I informed Adalynn not to let anyone in" He called.
"Who is that girl, Kris?" The voice of Mrs Holden was low, eyes awaiting the ones of her son.
"I told you, already. She is the company's marketer"
"Is she the same one your father said had stopped by the house the other day"
When no response followed, a weak sigh only poured her lips, eyes staring intently at the form of Kristoffer.
"Oh, dear. What are you getting yourself into?"
"I wasn't so well. She came by to check on me"
"That's what a worker would do in care of their colleague"
"Yet, no other lady did the same. Only that one thought it wise to come pay you a visit?" She followed.
"Also, you're not her colleague" Her tone was firm, fingers tapping at the desk continuously.
"She works for you"
"Now don't go mistaking mere pleasure for endearment, there is a strong line between the two"
"And the next time you have your play-thing home, try to caution her on the way she screams"
"The workers could hear you" She followed flatly.
The eyes of Kristoffer lingered on that form, gaze watching as she got to her feet, moving around the space of the office.
"The company's at good speed, I must say" A smile grew on her lips.
"All thanks to you" She followed, drawing closer to his form.
"I'm inviting Maddison over for dinner tonight to celebrate" She called, with much glee filling her gaze.
"Is that the reason you came around?"
"To set me up with her"
"No one's setting you up"
"I only want you to move on with your life"
"Oh, please I do not need you setting me up with anyone" He followed.
"I believe I can find a lady for myself"
"Yet all the ones you happened to have found didn't last long enough to even be introduced to me"
"Where's Sarah, now?" She followed. "I can remember she was the last one I heard you were in a relationship with"
"We called things off half a year ago"
"Exactly!"
"Every single girl you've found happen to be of ill-character, or have one problem or the other to sort"
"Maddison is Ideal" She let out.
"I'm not in search of ideal" He called firmly.
"But you've always had a crush on her since your were little"
"I was only a growing kid....Who was bound to fall for the first girl that he came to know" The voice of the young man followed.
"If you really want to throw a dinner for the success of the company, then it should be for the person who has made it come to this in the past few weeks"
"And that's the lady who was just in here"
"I'm not gonna invite her into my home, Kris"
"Well, too bad, cause she already has been in your home countless times. Also, she's the reason the company is at much speed"
He had soon pulled away from her figure going to have a seat behind the desk.
"What would you like to have, I could have someone fetch it for you" His voice followed.
"Save it for another day" Mrs Holden called.
"You've ruined my afternoon" She added, moving to the door.
"Also" She paused in her steps, eyes turning to his figure.
"Do stop by at the house"
"A party will be thrown whether you like it or not"
And with that, her figure was making way out the room.
