Chapter 30 - Golden years - Part 4

"If your dad doesn't care about you, then who will?"

"I'm an adult now, I have the right to enjoy my own body," Haibaihe made a face. "But you, well, you should just date honestly, that wouldn't be bad either."

Muge pouted, "Then why are you teasing me? By the way, what happened to that guy named Zhuang... Zhuang something, the fresh meat?"

"Uh, he seems to have messaged me on WeChat yesterday, let me check." Haibaihe pulled up their chat history and finally saw that Zhuang Yijian had messaged her past ten o'clock.

"Heard you're here, didn't see you, wanted to thank you in person, let's have a meal another day."

After a moment of pondering, she finally remembered that she had been a free chauffeur for Zhuang Yijian's band about two months ago. It was a long time ago, and she had almost forgotten.

Muge smirked, "He wants to treat you to a meal, there's something going on."

To her surprise, Haibaihe replied, "No need, it was just a small favor."

She didn't mention the meal at all.

Of course, she wanted to pursue Liang Xiao, and it's no fun if things aren't clear.

Muge expressed Zhuang Xiaoge's heartfelt sorrow, "You change your mind so quickly. You used to call him 'sweetie' and now you've fallen for someone else."

"What are you thinking? Zhuang Xiaoge has always treated me as a fan," Haibaihe smiled insincerely. "He's always maintained a friendly distance with me."

Muge rolled her eyes, "Look at you, now that you've succeeded, you're showing your true colors! So you didn't win him over."

"Well, I'm not planning to play around with yesterday's matters anymore. It seems like he's a pretty serious guy. I can just say that I'm his fan! A pure music fan!" Haibaihe justified confidently.

Muge coldly exposed her true intentions, "Since when did you like rock music? I had no idea."

"Hey, I brought you so much delicious food, don't expose me," Haibaihe stretched lazily. "Look at you, so comfortable at home every day, while it's hot outside."

Muge threw a pillow at her, "Forget it, I haven't seen you staying at home either. By the way, did Senior call you?"

"Senior? Who?"

"Zhang Qihang, the one we interned with. He said he couldn't find your WeChat and couldn't reach you by phone. He asked me to tell you that the school is discussing compensation, and there will be results soon."

Compensation? Haibaihe suddenly realized that while she may have escaped major injuries, others might have been more seriously affected. It's only natural for parents to demand compensation from the school.

The school was definitely responsible, but it would certainly take some time to resolve. Haibaihe's attention was fully focused on the strange encounter in Huyang Township, and she had forgotten about this matter.

"So, how are the others doing?"

"It seems like they've been transferred to a hospital over here. Thankfully, no one died, otherwise..." Muge sighed, "I think the internship will probably be canceled in the future. But let me ask you, don't you need to be on-site for archaeology? Can you just study theory in the classroom?"

Although she had been in a car accident, she had no visible scars. Car accidents don't only happen while traveling, they can happen

anywhere in the city. Besides, this accident was purely unfortunate, not the driver's fault.

The absent-minded girl forgot about the pain as soon as it subsided and started worrying about whether she would be able to go on-site in the future.

Haibaihe paused, "That's not bad." It's better than encountering zombies.

Muge, puzzled, widened her eyes. "That doesn't sound like something you would say. Aren't you the one who loves extreme games the most?"

Haibaihe spoke slowly, "Can you compare yourself to me?"

Muge replied, "..." She was an athlete with barely passing grades, she didn't want to be compared to this kind of weirdo.

"You reminded me. I have some free time recently, I'll go sign up to learn a new skill," Haibaihe blew a kiss at Muge. "Darling, I'm off."

"Hey hey hey! You're just going to leave after telling me that?" Muge couldn't believe she would just walk out like that.

Haibaihe really did leave, and she went straight to the fitness club after leaving Muge's place. She had learned several skills here before, and now she had only a few options left: bodybuilding, belly dance, Latin dance, and rock climbing.

She decisively chose the last one, paid for a semester-long course with her card. She was a VIP, so she even got a 20% discount.

She bought all the necessary equipment at the club and started her first lesson that day.

As soon as she entered the training room, her attention was drawn to a person, not the coach, but a beautiful woman who was rock climbing with one hand.

Rock climbing may look easy, but it actually requires a high level of expertise. However, this long-haired beauty was climbing with one hand, capturing the attention of not only Haibaihe but also others in the training room.

Of course, the focus was different when admiring a beautiful woman.

This beauty seemed to have an Eastern heritage, it was hard to determine if she was Chinese, Japanese, or Korean. Haibaihe thought she resembled Hong Kong actress Zhang Min, with a bold and fierce beauty.

Not only did she have a beautiful face, but her figure was also well-proportioned. The muscles in her body showcased dynamic beauty as she climbed, displaying a sense of motion.

When she reached the top, applause erupted from below.

As she landed, a foreign handsome guy approached her to strike up a conversation and ask about her rock climbing experience. Surprisingly, the seemingly cold beauty had a pleasant personality. Although her English was not fluent, she earnestly answered the questions. Soon, several people joined in the professional discussion of rock climbing.

Haibaihe found her own coach, warmed up, and couldn't wait to give it a try. Initially, she could keep up with the physical demands, but as she climbed higher, she felt more and more exhausted.

"You made your move too early, don't be so impatient," a female voice came from beside her. Haibaihe turned her head and was surprised to see the beautiful woman.

She decisively gave up on this climb, descended to the ground, and carefully observed the movements of the beautiful woman. Her coach came over to give her some tips and praised her, saying, "Miss Di is just an amateur, but her skill is not far from that of professionals."

"It's just a hobby," Miss Di said humbly as she finished another climb, hearing the coach's words. She was polite. "By the way, do you know any good takeout places nearby?"

Haibaihe responded sympathetically, "I understand. I'll come to

support you once I've settled her at home."

Miss Di gave them each a business card.

Di Ya, the prime of youth.

Below was the address of a bar.

Haibaihe pondered for a moment, thinking that this might be the bar where the bartender mentioned they were looking for a resident female singer, so it could be this Miss Di.

It was a bit strange, though. Liang Xiao couldn't have retired and opened a bar in just one month. There must be a mission behind his actions, and his current identity might be fake.

However, if it was just for cover, there was no need to go through the trouble of buying a bar. There must be another purpose for Hua Yang Nian Hua. Maybe she was his former girlfriend?

That would be awkward.

But she didn't know anything. She didn't know about Liang Xiao's ex-girlfriend or their possible ulterior motives.

So she happily said, "Oh, what a coincidence! I really like that bar. When do you perform, Miss Di? I'll definitely come to watch."

Di Ya said, "I'm there every day, you're welcome anytime."

Haibaihe accepted her friend's kind offer and put the business card into her wallet in front of Muge, who was now on the phone. Unfortunately, it didn't seem to have any effect.

She once again encountered something strange.
