Huge drops of rain poured all over the city as lightning illuminated the dark night for a second. Gathered at a round table was a man of 48, Andres with his wife breastfeeding their four-month-old baby. A thunderous clap roared in the skies but it didn't bother the cozy sleep of their 5-year-old girl.
'Andres,' his wife called her. But the old man was deep in his thoughts that he was deafened. It took his wife to call his name a couple of times more before finally getting his attention.
He fix his eyes on her and asked her of her circumstance. She was curious about why they fled; she knew not a single thing about it. However, the man didn't know where to start. It was a really long story. The woman looked at him with puzzled eyes and he was left with no choice but to profess. It started 22 years ago when he was able to work with the World Government on a project. Because of the strange events and consecutive disasters happening on Earth, they opt to find a different habitat for humanity. He was one of the lead scientists for the project and they conducted several experiments and initial investigations. However, the leader of the organization was assassinated, and as soon as the leader was changed, so is the organization's goal for its projects. At first, he just went with the flow but then he overheard the 'new goal' of the organization and was left with no choice but to flee, for it was the gravest thing he could imagine.
Their conversation went on until an aircraft's noise was heard. Amidst the heavy blows of the wind and the perilous weather in the area, a group of men has come in search of a 'traitor'. Inside, Andres knew of what was coming and get the sleeping infant in his wife's arm into his chest. He urged her to hurry and flee with their other child. But as soon as they were several steps away, the door sprang open and three persons in white coats pointed their guns at them and demanded them to surrender obediently. The old man spread his arms to defend his family and told them that he will surrender in the course that they spare his wife and children. He pleaded but it was no use, they didn't listen. As they were about to approach, he grabbed a kitchen knife and attacked the men to buy some time for his wife to escape. However, the men were skilled enough to evade it. The two men grabbed his arms and the other hit his head with a gun. His wife shouted at the sight and tried to escape. Just then, a gunshot was heard and the poor baby woke up as her lifeless mother held her no more. The other girl shook her mother's hands, trying to wake her up as fresh red liquid tainted her chest and unto the floor.
' Grab the children,' said one of the men, and the girl's vision turned black.
