Cassidy nodded gently, her grip tightened around the hilt of her sword, and her eyes sparkled with resolute determination. She knew that no matter what happened next, they had to stand their ground here, to confirm whether the curse was truly lifted.
They crept along the path towards the village, using the moonlight and shadows to conceal their presence. They held their breaths, attentively observing every movement within the village. Suddenly, a grotesque pig-headed creature stumbled out of a stone house. It carried a wooden barrel and staggered towards the clear well.
"Look, Elwin," Cassidy whispered, "they're starting to draw water. It seems they haven't noticed the changes in the water source."
Elwin stared intensely at the pig-headed creature, watching it lower the barrel into the well, then raise it again. When the pig-headed creature brought the bucket back to its mouth and began to drink heavily, Elwin and Cassidy held their breaths.
