After leaving the cave, Elwin and Cassidy began their journey to the town of Amber. Passing through meadows and dense forests, they yearned to see the town again. As they emerged from the forest, the outline of the town was faintly visible on the distant horizon. The sunlight spilled down from the sky, encasing the silhouette of the town in a golden glow, as if that was their destination.
However, just as they enthusiastically quickened their pace, a large, turbulent swamp blocked their path. This swamp was vast and deep, like a scar on the earth, separating them from the distant town. The muddy swamp water sparkled with a sickly sheen in the sunlight and emitted a rotten smell. Bubbles of mud popped up from the water from time to time, as if the breath of a beast lurking beneath the swamp.
"It seems we need to find a way to cross this swamp," Elwin said, frowning. His gaze was firm, as if no matter how difficult the path ahead was, he was confident he could overcome it.
