Chapter 2 - Issei's Older Brother [V2]

Kamiya's POV

Years have passed, and I am now six years old.

When I first arrived in this world, I was a little shocked. Who would have thought that I would become Issei's older brother, a character who shouldn't exist in the world of DxD?

Thinking about it, I mutter at my study table, "It seems my presence has changed the course of this story, hasn't it? Kamiki..."

Issei looks at me, noticing that I'm lost in thought. He asks, "Nii-chan, what are you thinking about?"

I snap back to reality, feeling a bit melancholic. I turn around to face Issei and reply, "Oh, it's nothing. Just reminiscing about a memory I'd like to revisit."

Issei nods and returns to his reading. But then, curiosity gets the better of me and I inquire, "By the way, what are you reading?"

Issei's body suddenly tenses, and he looks at me with a strange smile on his face. He says, "Actually, I'm reading a novel that imagines our adventures in the DxD world. It's written by a fan who wonders what it would be like if you were a part of our story."

Surprised, I raise an eyebrow and ask, "A novel? That sounds intriguing. What does this fan imagine about our adventures?"

Issei chuckles and responds, "According to this novel, you become a powerful and enigmatic character who joins the Occult Research Club with us. You possess unique abilities and have a tragic past that intertwines with ours."

The curiosity bubbles up inside me, and I eagerly say, "Tell me more!"

Issei continues, "In this story, you play a crucial role in the battle against supernatural beings, just like us. You uncover dark secrets, form new bonds with fellow club members, and confront your own inner demons. It's a thrilling and emotionally charged journey for all of us."

A soft smile forms on my lips as I say, "That sounds incredible. It's fascinating how someone can envision different paths for our lives."

Issei nods in agreement. "Indeed. It speaks to the impact our story has had on people. Although we may only be fictional characters, we have touched the hearts of many fans."

I lean back in my chair, a sea of thoughts swirling in my mind. "I wonder how different our lives would truly be if I existed in the DxD world..."

Issei looks at me with a reassuring smile. "Regardless of the world we inhabit, you will always be my cherished brother. Our bond transcends any fictional narrative."

Feeling a sense of warmth in my heart, I nod gratefully. "Thank you, Issei. That means a lot to me."

As we sit together in companionable silence, the world of DxD continues to captivate the imaginations of fans, reminding us all that even in the realm of fiction, the power of bonds and emotions is incredibly real.

Issei's POV

Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months since Kamiya discovered the novel written by a fan that imagined his existence in the DxD world. We continued our daily lives, battling supernatural beings, protecting our friends, and striving to become stronger.

But Kamiya was no longer the same as before. He began to question his own existence and the reality of the world we lived in. I noticed a subtle change in his demeanor, as if a sense of longing had taken hold of him.

One evening, as we sat under the twilight sky, I decided to bring up the topic that had been weighing on both our minds. "Kamiya, I've noticed how you've been lost in thought lately. Is everything alright?"

Kamiya looked at me, his gaze filled with a mix of emotions. There was a hint of sadness but also determination in his eyes. "Issei, I've been thinking a lot about the novel that imagined my presence in this world. It's made me question the boundaries between reality and fiction."

I nodded, understanding the internal struggle he must be facing. "It's natural to feel that way, considering the circumstances. But Kamiya, no matter what, you are and will always be my brother. Our bond and connection are real, regardless of the world we find ourselves in."

Kamiya smiled softly, appreciating my words of reassurance. "Thank you, Issei. Your support means a lot to me. But I can't shake this feeling of curiosity. What if there is more to my existence than what meets the eye?"

Do not know until when, he can go back to how he used to be.
