Chapter 4: A New Challenge
"I want you to accompany me on my mission to Niravia," she said.
Breno scoffed. "Again? I told you, I don't like traveling. I don't like going anywhere for any length of time."
"This time will be different," she said. "This time you will have a purpose. This time you will be doing something more than sitting around and drinking."
"I don't need to sit around and drink," he said. "I do it for fun."
"This won't be fun. It will be work. It will be hard. It will be dangerous. But I think you will enjoy it."
Breno sighed. He liked Enecloiv. She was interesting, beautiful, and mysterious. He wondered if she was a changeling, or a spirit of some sort. He wondered if she was even real. "I'll think about it," he said.
"Very well," she said. She tilted her head, and her hair cascaded over her shoulder. "In the meantime, I will leave you with this." She took a book off the tray. "I found this on the table when I arrived. I thought you might like to read while you're on your journey."
Breno's eyes lit up. He took the book from her and opened it to a random page. It was titled, "How to be a Hero."
"If you succeed in your journey." she said, and left his study.
Breno laughed, and closed the door behind her.
The next morning, Breno rode into the streets of Tuncesh on a white horse.
