Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Gods, Dragons, and Devils

I woke up moments later, but surprisingly I wasn't at Kuoh Academy. No, for some reason I found myself back in Egypt.

FUCK! I hate this place with a deep passion. Don't get me wrong it was beautiful and the experience with my parents and Issei and his parents was overall enjoyable, but I hated how the sun beared down on us the entire time. Not to mention the heat caused my skin to grow a shade darker temporarily which only caused the local delinquents to get even more insulting towards me. A hop, a skip, a foot up their ass and they would shut right the fuck up.

I walked towards the pyramids instead of towards the open desert. Fuck the open desert. Once I neared the pyramid I felt a strong blast of wind from above. Looking up I saw…A FUCKING DRAGON? Surely enough the goddamn mythical creature was having a damn field day in the sky flying around like Egypt was its domain. I would have believed the same if I hadn't known this dragon wasn't from Egyptian mythology.

My father had taught me quite a bit about not only Egyptian mythology, but all the other mythologies as well. Saying 'I'd need the information one day' Shit. Never knew the man could be so right.

The dragon shot a breath of fire that destroyed the middle pyramid before landing on the remains. The dragon stopped and stared at me. His green eyes locked with my red eyes. His entire body was red. A western dragon. Not to mention, HE WAS HUGE! At least fifty meters tall and probably six times longer. And those wings…super imposing! At this moment I was scared shitless, but in the back of my head the delinquent side of me was just begging to be set free. It seems like the dragon wouldn't say anything until I spoke. His eyes bored me. Here goes nothing.

"T-That was u-unnecessary." I stuttered out. The dragon seemed to grow angered by this. I couldn't read eyes, nor could I speak dragon, but the breath of fire that was launched my way made me feel that way.

"Nope!" I shouted as I ran for my dear life, weaving between the fire breaths. The dragon went to the skies and started chasing me down like prey. Well that's kinda what I was I guess. Eventually I stopped. The dragon landed right in front of me confused. His face approached my body and stopped a few meters from me. Staring into my soul.

"[Why did you stop?]" The same voice I had heard earlier played once more from my ears. The voice definitely came from the dragon. I looked down at the ground for a few moments before looking back at the dragon with saddened eyes.

"Y-your a dragon. I-If you w-wanted me d-dead I'd be d-dead." I explained, avoiding eye contact with the giant reptile.

The dragon seemed to smile? Then as quickly as it came it disappeared.

"[And when you said 'That was unnecessary.' What did you mean?"] The red dragon asked once again.

My delinquent side broke. I couldn't contain myself any longer. I just prayed the dragon wouldn't kill me for this.

"Dude…You destroyed a p-pyramid just to land. Even though there was so much open land you could have taken up. I'm sure your excuse would be it was a power move towards me, but your literal fucking existence as a dragon is a power move don't you think?" I asked with a deadpan before remembering who the hell I was talking to.

The dragon looked genuinely surprised but then what happened next was more weird than confusing.

"[HAHAHA! Wow! To think I would finally get a good host with a nice pair of balls, and a hatchling no less!]"

The laugh scared me. It sounded like I was in a cave. The deep laughter echoed throughout Egypt.

"Host? Hatchling? Balls?" I asked though the last one was thrown in as more of a dying joke.

"[Aye. Last time I had a host with balls your size was around five hundred years ago, and on a woman no less! Though I must say I am surprised you do not know of your heritage. After all I sense a small amount of Akhekh's aura within you.]" The dragon chuckled out.

Skipping past the whole girl with balls part, my eyes widened upon hearing that name. "Akhekh. You feel his aura within me? How is that possible?" I asked. I was no fool, my father had told me all about the Dragons of Egyptian mythology. Akhekh was more of a hybrid of multiple animals. It resembled more of a griffin than any dragon, but it was a creature to be feared. Any creature that was regarded as a depiction of Set, Egyptian god of war, chaos, and storms was sure to be feared after all.

That's when it clicked.

"Akhekh is Set." I said quietly. Just barely above a whisper. The red dragon blew a puff of smoke from his nose and smiled.

"[Indeed. It seems you figured it out huh.]" The dragon was beaming happiness for some reason.

"If I have Akhekh's aura…Set's aura…I-I'm his descendant?" I asked this time, unable to believe even my own speculation.

The dragon didn't answer in words but nodded its very large head.

"Wait, does that make me a…god?" I was completely surprised.

"[Demi god yes. I awoke this morning so I got to sense your fathers energy. Omari was his name, yes? Well his aura is that of a full blooded god. It was also quite familiar. I have no doubt, your father is the son of Set and Nephthys, your father is Anubis."]

I froze. No. That's got to be a lie. I refuse to believe it. My father…Anubis. THE ANUBIS!? THE LITERAL FUCKING EGYPTIAN GOD OF THE DEAD IS MY FATHER!?

"[I can understand your confusion. However I must say, this is the truth. Your father is Anubis. I hadn't had many encounters with him in the past, but I did battle him once through one of my hosts. Your father has a carbon copy of his energy. Anubis and your old man are one in the same.]"

I looked at the ground trying to absorb everything I just heard. Anubis is my old man. Nephthys is my grandmother, and Set is my grandfather. I stood silently for what felt like hours. The dragon didn't interrupt my train of thought as I ran through all the new information I've received.

"W-what about my mother?" I asked hesitantly. I don't know if I could take any more surprises right now.

"[From what I sensed she is not a god. However she is not fully human either. Your mother has some yokai blood in her. What race of yokai? Your guess is as good as mine.]"

Now my mom is a creature of Japanese mythology. What's next? With all the shit going on, I wouldn't be surprised if Zeus was my godfather.

"I doubt that. You are the literal dragon who's lived for hundreds of-"

"[Thousands.]"

"...Thousands of years." I finished after being rudely interrupted.

"[So what will you do now? You have discovered you are a descendant of a godly dragon who happens to be the God of Chaos and his wife the Goddess of Air. Your father is The God of Death, and your mother is half human, half yokai.]

I thought for a few minutes. Surprisingly the dragon patiently waited all the while. This was seriously a pain in the ass to digest. I mean seriously gods. I'm a god. A demigod, yokai/human, but a god nonetheless.

"What's your name?" I asked the dragon. Earning a raise of his eyebrow? Dragons have eyebrows I guess. Learned a thousand new things today…that's enough for a thousand days!

"[My name is Y Ddraig Goch.]" He answered after getting over his initial surprise.

No fucking way! As in the dragon sealed within the God of the Bible's gauntlet, the [Boosted Gear]? My father told me all about God's treasures, and the thirteen strongest. The Longinus. I always thought they were a myth!

"Satoru Isamu…but why do I feel as though that's a lie as well."

Ddraig decided that simply laughing would be the best idea and settled for that.

A new thought entered my head which gave way to rage.

"If my father is Anubis. Why didn't he bring my brother back to life!? He's the literal god of death. That is completely his domain!" I asked with tears threatening to spill from my eyes. Unfortunately I couldn't hold them in as I began to weep in front of a dragon. A being of pride.

"[I have no idea why he wouldn't do such a thing, however even gods must obey rules. Breaking said rules can be catastrophic. My belief is Anubis decided against it for fear of endangering himself and by extension his family.]" Ddraig added his thoughts on the matter which I decided to accept for now.

So he couldn't do anything in order to protect mom and I? Is that the truth?

"You said I was a godly dragon earlier. What does that mean?" I asked as I wiped the tears from my eyes.

"[Godly dragons are gods who have the ability to transform into our race. Do not get these beings confused with Dragon Gods. Dragon Gods are Dragons born with pure divine aura. You are the former of the two. There are only two Dragon Gods in existence as of right now and not even I would be able to give them a good fight.]" Ddraig explained, although when he mentioned the last part he seemed a bit saddened. Pride till the end.

Beings not even he, the Red Dragon of Domination could beat? "Understood. Thanks Ddraig." I smiled at the huge red dragon which he surprisingly returned.

"[I never had a host that was anything besides human, much less a god. This will be quite interesting. Considering you're a god your life is now a part of Egyptian mythology. You will live as long as the Egyptian faith holds enough believers unless you are killed and considering that other religions pull from the Egyptian faith, I guess I can expect to spend quite a large amount of time with you.]"

I was stunned at this new bit of information: I'm basically immortal? Now that's cool-

"[You are weak.]"

Ddraig completely took me out of my thoughts with that insult.

"[As of right now you are strong for a human, but weak overall. When I look at you and think about what you could be it brings a smile to my face. However regardless of your heritage, a god can die easy.]" Ddraig explained.

Ddraig didn't say it outright, but I knew he was hinting at my brother's death. In my time as a delinquent I had many enemies, and my brother who was a year younger than me shared my dream of becoming the greatest delinquent in Japan. In the end we had a bit of a falling out and he believed I was progressing too slowly towards our goal so he formed his own gang. A week later we found out he was killed in a brawl between his group and rival gang in the next town over. Truthfully it was no one's fault. However I blamed myself. What if I grabbed his hand and told him I'd try things his way? What if I merged my own group with his? He'd still be alive. That much I know, and I have to live with that.

"[You will be strong. Strong enough to destroy the White One for many generations. Mark my words. I will make it so.]" Those were the last words I heard as I was forced out of my head.

As I came too, I realized I was in a building. From the lighting in the building it was at the very least evening. Damn it. I was out cold all day and ended up missing school.

I slowly sat up and found myself on a bed. I looked to my left and saw some weird lava lamp. Looking to my right I found…a…shower.

Why the fuck is there a shower at school? I rubbed my head and decided to put that shit off. I have a headache as is.

'[Yes avoid useless distractions, Partner.]'

I was a bit startled by Ddraig's voice but nodded nonetheless. 'So this is going to be a thing Ddraig?'

'[Indeed. I am in your sacred gear after all.]'

That confirmed my thoughts. I am the wielder of the [Boosted Gear].
