-Wellston High School-
[Adrion's P.O.V]
"Elia? looks like you found some new friends," the guy laughed.
When conflict is unavoidable, you have to either fight, or submit to your opponent as soon as possible. I had taken the habit of submitting when my friends weren't there. Usually this was to people who I knew I had no chance against, otherwise I would fight to gauge my opponent, and maybe test my luck.
This was a fact; something that was ingrained within my memory through the numerous and painful beatings that accompagnied my seemingly never-ending bullying over the course of the decade that I, and anyone my age, had gained their ability.
But when Claire and John were with me, before his meteoric rise to power obviously, I mustered up the courage to fight. Because I didn't want to let them down, nor did I desire to see them being hurt. And worst of all, I definitely didn't want them to see this cowardly, and according to some, rational, depending on the perspective of the observer, side of me. Even if they wouldn't care.
And now, well... my friends are here
This asshole, he needed to go. And he wasn't alone, he had a pink haired friend along with him with a rather punchable face. Too bad John wasn't here. But that's not a problem. I'm not a defenseless baby who needs my friend to feed me with a silver spoon.
"Elia, do you know these guys?" I asked.
She attended Wellston High from her very first year, without induldging in any transfer shenanigans, so she had to be at least a little knowledgeable about who those trouble makers are.
She talked. "It's just Mardin, He has a big mouth but isn't much of a threat. He just likes to leech of some troublesome people."
"Elia, shut up." He uttered irritably, however she ignored him.
"The other is Julien. They're all bark but no bite. We can take them easi-" She was interrupted by the two rushing over with their abilities active.
"BITCH, I SAID SHUT UP!!" Mardin yelled while running towards our group, pulling his fist back for a punch.
"Hey, leave us alone," I called out to him, before activating my ability and parrying his strike like William taught me. I then followed up with a strong punch, breaking his nose.
Power Up. That was my abilty. It was standard physical enhancement ability all things considered, better than being a cripple... yeah that was kinda of foul.
Anyway, my power was pretty weak before John's dramatic climb through the ranks and, unfortunately, it still kind of is. But John gave me some pointers on how to... improve here and there as his power allowed him to be an ability specialist of sorts.
My ability didn't have elite tier potential, but it worked by multiplying my physical strength. The greater my natural physical strength, the more power my ability provided me. That coupled with his father introducing me to his whole martial arts routine and fighting techniques allowed for an unexpected but steady rise in strength, growing from a pitiful 2.1 to a respectable 2.5 using those very bases (A/N: I'm pulling that number out of my ass. But if Uru ever reveals Adrion's actual level, I will change it.)
"ACK!" The mid-tier before me yelped in pain from the force of my punch. Looking at Elia, I noticed that she too, was done with this Julien fellow.
"It seems you can still get up, so if you know what's best for you then get out of the way," Elia threatened.
"Yeah... sorry we can't do that. If YOU know what's best for you then you better leave, 'cause Zekes is gonna be here any second." Julien announced with a pained chuckle.

Oh oh...
Zeke is here?
He's the guy that beat me up when I first entered the dormitory. I managed to get a nice hit in on his face last time, but that was only because I had surprised him with my rather decent aptitude of martial arts. He mopped the floor with me afterwards though.
On a more humorous note, it's pretty funny that a small fry like me managed to make an Elite-tier bleed.
"Shit..." we all said at the same time. Ordinarily we might have laughed at the jinx, but considering the gravity of the situation we immediately ran in the opposite direction.
"What do we have here?" A voice came from in front of us.
Fuck... we left too late, he's here.
We're screwed I guess, well it's nothing new anyway, I chuckled inwardly at our current situation.
"You two seem pretty decent at fighting~" A tall, blue-haired dude with a conceited smirk appeared seemingly out of nowhere.
"Wait a sec... I remember you~ Adrion was it? You pack a nasty punch when I'm not in defense form." He chuckled.
"You passed out too quickly last time. I'll enjoy beating you and your friends for attacking my boys and I'll add the surplus of the beating that I mean't for you last time." He continued in that snarky tone.
Seeing him charge towards me I raised my forearms to block and closed my eyes in anticipation of the punch...
That never came??

(A few minutes earlier)
[John's P.O.V]
After leaving Seraphina alone, I had left to go to my classes, classes that were conveniantly isolating me from my friends (Which is a bad thing, but I'd only talk to them if they were there so maybe it's good thing that things are the way they are?)
They were also classes that I couldn't afford to skip unlike a certain magenta haired girl. She was right about one thing though, my grades weren't very good. Mainly because I was relying on my past life's knowledge as professional procrastinator, which somehow was still so useful after all this time. I had better grades than the original though which could be considered a first step in the right direction.
The only issue that I now struggled with was my smoking addiction. Earlier, I thought I could simply stop whenever I wanted.
But now... I'm in too deep I guess.
Stupid past life addictions coming over to my new life as well. At least I didn't drink alcohol, which was a positive change.
Now exiting my last class a little late, considering I had asked the professor for tips on how to better make the essays he had given us to do as homework, I made a beeline towards the exit of the school to go meet with the others. We were supposed to go get some boba after all. But they weren't... there?
I liked Elia, but I didn't know her for very long and neither did she, so it would be more understandable (It's still a dick move) if she couldn't be bothered to wait for me.
But Adrion and Claire?
Nah... they, they were my homies. They would stand under the rain without an umbrella while waiting for me, despite me telling them multiple times not to do so. Especially Adrion.
So where could they be?
Taking out my phone, I made a call to each and everyone in their little trio.
