Seeing how she floated in midair and her transparent figure, she could be a ghost, or maybe a hallucination.

Whichever it was, Sebastian didn't care.

He walked past her toward the exit of the labyrinth, but when they passed, he could see her lips move to form a phrase. He didn't care to stop to see what she said because he couldn't hear her voice anyways.

He just walked past her.

He didn't know why, but he knew she turned her head toward him when he passed. He knew she stared at his back when he left. But she stayed in place with that disgusting smile on her face.

Her disgustingly soft, warm smile...

"Tch."

This was why he hated coming here.

The nausea of the still, vast, and bottomless lake... and the nothingness it held. It almost felt like drowning, with his ankle trapped by the thorn of the black rose garden.
