Chapter 2 - The Birth of Translation AI

Exhausted but victorious, Sam finally completed writing and integrating his encryption code in Python. As he leaned back in his chair, he released a long-held sigh.

"Gosh, that was arduous! If only I had an AI to tackle all this manual work!" he thought aloud. But he was well aware that the AI he'd just developed was narrowly focused on Translation; creating a generalized AI would not only demand ample time but also require colossal computing power to mature.

That being said, his Translation AI was now a fully realized entity, its Code seamless and as flawless as humanly possible.

The moment of truth had arrived.

With bated breath, he uttered aloud, "System -r."

Yet, to his slight annoyance, nothing happened.

"Damn it. Seems I still have to manually input the command," Sam grumbled.

[Running Code...]

The seconds felt like an eternity before a small window popped up on his screen, displaying simple words:

[Code Compiled successfully.]

Sam let out a laugh, loud and joyous. He had done it. The first significant step towards his dream was complete.

"Now that the Translation AI is compiled, it's time to feed it data - preferably language-related stuff. We'll start with dictionaries, followed by thesauruses, grammatical constructs, and so on," Sam decided aloud.

Pulling up his browser, Sam found the Oxford Dictionary - the 'Free' version, of course.

His current bank balance was still in 'fresher' territory after all.

He 'fed' the dictionary to the Translation AI program via the Command Line Interface (CLI, for the uninitiated).

[Learning...]

Knowing that the AI was still in its infancy and would take some time to learn, Sam decided to retire for the night, dreaming about the possibilities of tomorrow.

And so slept Sam.

Upon awakening at a leisurely hour the next day, he refreshed himself and eagerly checked his laptop for progress.

[Learned! The Oxford Dictionary Digested.]

"Whoa! The first step was accomplished. Now, ONWARDS!" Sam exclaimed, a proud twinkle in his eyes.

He configured several settings and parameters, enabling the Translation AI to autonomously download dictionaries, thesauruses, and relevant language files from the Internet.

[Process starting...]

[Process started.]

[Accessing Internet...]

[Downloading Files...]

And so it went on.

Now Sam just needed to sit back and enjoy the show.

But will he want to watch the show? Heck no! He was confident of the outcome, so monitoring the entire process was unnecessary.

Hence he started planning on how to form the company. He used his phone and did passive recon on his target, Eva Pearson.

Discovering that she conveniently resided in the same city as him, brought a smirk to his face.

And then? Nothing. How did he know her? Well, she had been his superior in his past life. And he knew her well enough to predict where he could find her - at ShtarBucks, sipping her favorite coffee.

Scouting nearby coffee shops, he pinpointed the one she visited daily.

"I am not a creep. I am doing this for the company," he reminded himself, trying to justify his detective-like behavior.

Once he finished his goal for the day, he had to wait for the Translation AI to finish its magic.

And not-so-surprisingly, after four days, the Translation AI had devoured and internalized various languages, honing its capacity to translate between languages with near-human accuracy.

It was capable of learning from different contexts and improving its translations over time.

Basically, the Translation AI had learned 'em all.

While the AI started its job, Sam knew he needed to step up his game too.

Realizing that it was time to escalate his own efforts, Sam planned to approach Eva. With her professional demeanor in mind, he diligently prepared a proposal to showcase his AI's potential.

After a week of intense preparation and continuous testing of his Translation AI, the day arrived for him to meet Eva.

His heart pounded with a mixture of anxiety and anticipation as he stepped into the familiar ShtarBucks cafe in the heart of the city.

This was a critical moment to bag one of the geniuses into his company.

Spotting Eva entering the cafe in her usual professional attire, he found himself awestruck by her determined demeanor. In his previous life, she was a rapidly rising star in the corporate world, a fact he admired immensely.

"Eva," he greeted her warmly.

"Who might you be?" Eva asked, not recognizing Sam.

"I am Sam Orion. I will cut it short as I know you take your time seriously." Sam sped up.

Despite being slightly taken aback, Eva listened attentively. "Please, go on," she urged.

"I have a technology and a proposal. If you like it, I want you to join my company.", Sam proposed.

Eva, somewhat shocked, said, "Join your company? What are you doing? You seem like a fresher like me."

He nodded, excitement bubbling within him. "I've got something that I think you'll find interesting."

He then began describing his technology, the Translation AI, and its capabilities.

He showed her a live demo of the AI working, translating complex documents between several different languages.

He explained how the AI was designed to learn continuously and enhance its performance.

Eva's eyes widened in disbelief and admiration as she watched the AI in action. "This is... remarkable, Sam," she confessed, visibly awestruck. "Your company developed this?"

Sam nodded, his heart pounding in his chest.

Obviously, it was not for Eva.

Well, it was for Eva, but differently. You know, as a Genius.

"Yes. And this is just the start. I want to change the world, Eva. And I want you to be a part of it. I can't do this alone."

Eva remained silent for a while, clearly thinking. Sam held his breath, waiting for her response. Then, she finally nodded.

"Alright, Sam. I'm in."

Relief washed over Sam, his face breaking into a triumphant grin.

His first victory - recruiting Eva Pearson into his still-forming company, Orion Enterprises.

He had won her over.

"Welcome Aboard, Eva!"

As they shook hands, Eva inquired, "By the way, how many people work for you, Sam?"

"Umm, you will be the first one..." he admitted, scratching his head.

"What?" Eva's disbelief was palpable.

"How about we talk about the details over the phone later? I have some work to finish. Bye!" With that, Sam hastily scribbled his contact details on a piece of paper and dashed off, leaving a bewildered Eva behind.

"Wait! Is this a scam?" Eva was left in a state of baffled confusion.
