"Kira! Take off my boots this instant!" I yell at my sister and she scoffs and rolls her eyes like the evil princess she is.
"Oh please, it's not like I actually want to wear your boots, it just matches my outfit this morning." she tosses back a lock of her hair. And I notice the earrings she has on.
"Kira, are those my earrings? Those are the only pair of earrings I have. Take them off!"
"No! I'm your little sister, can't you be nicer to me. First your boots, now your earrings?"
"I don't care if you're my mother! Take off my earrings right this instant!"
"So you're going to be stingy over these little earrings? You want me to bring mom into this?"
"You wouldn't dare!" but she will.
"Mom! Kiva won't share!" she yells for my mom, knowing fully well that my mom will tell me to let her have it because she's the younger one.
"Kiva! She's your sister, be nice." Mom's voice echoes from the kitchen to the living room.
"But mom, she's wearing the only earrings I have!" I retort.
"Kira! You know those are the only pair of earrings your sister has, take them off." Mom orders, and a winning smirk curls up my lips.
Once again, Kira looks me up and down with those evil princess eyes as she annoyingly takes off the earrings and dumps them on the table.
"That's one score for you." her brows furrow, her eyes squint as she whispers, "vengeance will be mine!"
"Mom, one extra portion of eggs and bacon, Skye is coming over." I inform my mom as I read a message I receive from Skye, stating that she is almost at my house.
"Alright then." Mom cheerfully says.
"At least someone more fun is coming around," Kira hisses and walks over to the dining table.
"Kyle, go get your brother."
"He's so immersed in some stupid book that he won't even hear a thing I say." Kyle shrugs.
"Go! Tell him to come down for breakfast." Mom orders! And Kyle grumbles and places the remote on the couch as he stands up.
He runs up the stairs and in the next minute he comes running down again.
"I told you mom, he's immersed in the book!" Kyle grumpily states as he walks over to the dining table and takes a seat next to Kira.
Mom looks at me with pleading eyes and I know exactly what those eyes mean. "Alright, I'll go drag him down. I can never enjoy my break in peace in this house." I say as I turn toward the stairs.
"He won't listen to you," Kyle shrugs.
Just then the door opens gently and Skye walks in.
"Hey family! The fifth child is here!" she announces.
"Hiya doin' buddy!" I wave at her.
"Skye darling, love that dress." Mom calls.
"I know right! She looks so chic in it. Did you make it?" Kira adds.
"Hi, Karl's number one obsession." Kyle too waves. "Hey mom, that's someone who can get Karl down here, send her." He adds, "You know what, no need. He'll be down in, 3, 2, 1, and…"
"Skye!! I heard Skye's voice. Is she here??"
"So predictable!" Kyle shakes his head as Karl comes running down the stairs, shouting and calling for Skye like the place is on fire.
Oh he is so lovestruck! But pity, Skye isn't into younger guys. He's just sixteen! Skye thinks he'll grow out of it, we all think so. But Kyle thinks that's never going to happen. Kira thinks Skye is too good for him, and mom just wants all of us to leave her lovestruck baby boy alone.
"Hey Skye, looking sexy today." He combs back his hair with his fingers, deepens his voice and puts on his flirting face as he walks toward her.
"Not happening." Skye simply states as she walks past him and over to me. We both walk to the dining table together.
"Sooner or later Skye. No, sooner than later. You'll be mine." He assures her.
"I can't wait." Skye says sarcastically.
"I promise you," he continues as he moves to take a seat directly in front of Skye, "You'll be my woman." He smirks.
And an outburst of laughter fills the room. With everyone telling Karl that his love is never going to happen. And Skye will never be his woman, as he put it.
Oh, I so love being around these people. My people. It's fun, it's—
"My lady!!!"
I jump as the voice echoes all around me, shaking the entire dining room, and I suddenly realize my eyes are closed, so I flip them open.
And I'm no longer in the dining room with my family. I look around and I realize I'm inside a long rich black limo. And that's when I realize, "It was only a dream."
"My lady!" The voice that had disrupted my dream calls me again and I suddenly realize that the door at my side is open.
The car has stopped moving, that means We've arrived.
"We've arrived." The voice states, like a reassurance. It's the driver talking, I guess. I can't see him, but I'm guessing he's the one talking.
We've arrived.
I've arrived. At the demon's palace.
