Fistpump, cock, punch, and burst—these are the fundamental steps in crafting an absolutely powerful punch with my mechanical arm. Each time I execute these precise moves, three to five Arcadians are sent reeling to their destination, tossed as if struck by a devastating shotgun blast. The impact is so concentrated that my punch alone could dismantle this entire airship deck.
"Chaos Claws," I murmured, channeling the dark flames that engulfed my left hand, shaping them into a gigantic talon of formidable power. Unfortunately, my metallic arm couldn't harness Chaos Claws, so I swiftly switched my sword to it, determined to make the most of my arsenal.
As I unleashed my might, loud war cries erupted from the red-eyed terrorists witnessing my prowess. Fearless in the face of a Pentagram Knight, they exhibited unyielding bravery. Despite their unwavering courage, I resisted the urge to obliterate them entirely, reminding myself to stay focused on my objective and minimize casualties. These soldiers weren't the true enemy.
No, the man with rainbow-colored eyes aboard the opposing airship—Amphere called him Nox—that was our adversary. He possessed a myriad of eerie and dreadful magic techniques that demanded our attention and caution.
Amidst the chaos, I punched and scratched my way through the horde of Arcadians, their assault rifles blazing with gunfire aimed at me. My Chaos Claws served as an impenetrable shield, dissolving the bullets upon contact. With my robot arm, I methodically knocked down the gunners, a new perk that Amphere couldn't help but be a tad jealous of!
I gazed skyward and beheld the majestic sight of the white Pulsar Dragon enveloped in a radiant golden light. Amphere raised his photon saber, and from the heavens above, a navy blue light beam descended, prompting him to bellow with all his might!
"DRACARYX!!! Activate Requiem Aeternam!"
The blue beam was absorbed by the photon sword, causing it to thicken and transform into a resplendent gold hue. The ensuing explosion produced a deafening sound and a devastating shockwave that rocked the stratosphere, unsettling the very wind itself. The airship veered sideways, some parts going topsy-turvy as they valiantly endured the invisible hurricane unleashed.
As the brilliance of the light beam faded, the photon sword now hummed with an infinite reserve of energy, radiating as brightly as the sun. Amphere positioned the sword sideways and began a solemn chant.
"When the sky above was not named, And the earth beneath did not bear life, The Old Deus emerges from light, and proves his might! Requiem Aeternam, Dona Eis Domine, Et Lux Perpetua Luceat Ei!!!"
The four legendary dragons surged forward, poised to launch their devastating assaults, while Amphere's chant echoed through the battlefield. Famine Dragon released dark chaos balls that exploded upon impact with the Pulsar Dragon, causing havoc. Death Dragon swung its scythe, sending razor-edged waves of wind hurtling towards its target. Conquest Dragon skillfully hurled the swords on its back in a relentless barrage, while the Infection Dragon spewed forth a long wave of toxic green gas from its gaping maw.
The Pulsar Dragon and her knight seemed impervious to the attacks, as the golden light cocooned them, rendering them seemingly invulnerable.
"Requiescat in Pace!!!" Amphere bellowed, swinging his sword with all his might to the right.
A rift in reality tore open, giving birth to a colossal golden oval sun, and everything around turned white. In an instant, the legendary dragon knights and their zombie dragons vanished without a trace. There were no explosions, flying blood, or severed limbs—just a profound silence that engulfed the battlefield, the most peaceful aftermath of a Dracaryx I had ever witnessed.
Rainbow-eyed Nox stood in awe as his zombie puppets disappeared before his eyes. His jaws hung open for what felt like an eternity before he muttered, "I finally saw you, Dragonoid Saint."
The Pulsar Dragon promptly reverted to her beautiful humanoid form, but the strain of the battle overcame her, and she lost consciousness. Amphere caught her in his arms, but now they faced a new dilemma—he was freefalling, and without the ability to fly, it seemed they were in peril.
"Catch them!" I urgently instructed my Chaos Dragon, gesturing to fetch them midair. As my dragon swooped in to save the day, Amphere and Pulsar Dragon were carefully delivered to the airship where I stood.
"Take care of Exceria, Kyrie," Amphere requested before leaving his substitute dragonoid on my dragon's head and jumping to my side.
"What in the world was that?" I questioned, bewildered by the sudden turn of events. "Are those zombie dragon knights gone for good?"
"They're completely erased from this universe," Amphere replied, offering a bland smile. "It's quite terrifying, but it's true. I merely followed Exceria's orders to unleash our Dracaryx. I wasn't aware that her Dracaryx, Requiem Aternam, had the power to instantaneously transport all targets and their souls to the heavenly realm."
"You should've at least fought the four legendary dragon knights longer. They hardly tapped into their power, and here you are, finishing them off so quickly. I was really hoping to see if they had Dracaryxes or not," I pouted, my disappointment evident.
"I truly wish I could have, but they are formidable foes. They are legends, and even with the most powerful dragon in existence under my control, I wouldn't have lasted long against all four of them. I'm just a wimpy knight who can use Vesryn Pulse on any dragonoid, that's all," Amphere explained with a tinge of sadness. "Yes, I wanted to witness their Dracaryxes as well."
Amphere's proficiency in utilizing his dragonoids' powers was undeniable, and I couldn't help but feel a twinge of jealousy towards his Eye of Deus ability. My robot arm felt insignificant compared to the capabilities of his strange eye.
"Amphere Harrison."
The voice of the rainbow-eyed man, Nox, pierced the air. He had leaped from his own airship to ours, driven by the desire to get a closer look at my best friend. His eyes were hypnotizing, each color drawing you in with an almost otherworldly allure.
"You finally learned how to use the Eye of Deus, and you even brought the Ancient Priestess with you. I'm thoroughly impressed," Nox chuckled and applauded with slow, deliberate claps. "Did Vesryn teach you how to use your powers?"
Amphere whispered to me, "This guy seems to know a lot. He might have some valuable information."
"Then let's extract the truth from him," I said, flashing a mischievous grin as I clenched my metallic fist.
"Heh, our first real battlefield teamwork, isn't it?" Amphere remarked, adopting a single-handed sword stance. His crimson eyes gleamed as the sunlight danced upon them. Feeling the surge of energy, I enveloped my entire left arm with Chaos Aura, readying myself for battle with my wide sword secured to my metallic arm, poised for a powerful thrust.
Nox silently observed the two best friends, understanding the gravity of the situation. Sensing he wouldn't reveal or utilize his dragonoid in this confrontation, he unsheathed a thick buster sword from his back.
"Let's go!" I shouted to Amphere, and together, we charged forward to confront our lone adversary.
