Amphere Harrison
Dragonoid Evolution. Never before has such a phenomenon been unearthed before my very eyes. This extraordinary revelation stands as the first and only proof that this enigmatic occurrence is not an implausible notion. Just like my Eye of Deus, Airi's current dragon form brims with an aura of mystique and wonder.
Her once steampunk Futuretech Dragon form has undergone a remarkable metamorphosis, adorning her steel armor with a lustrous crimson hue that imparts a futuristic and technological allure. The towering cybernetic dragon, now eight meters tall, boasts a mesmerizing display of photon circuits that course through her entire frame. Two shield-like saucers positioned on her back emit a radiant blue photonic energy, akin to the ethereal glow of celestial wings. Furthermore, at the bend of her wing, two glasslike pincers emerge, adorned with captivating neon light effects. Is it truly Airi? Her Chimeratech Dragon form is nothing short of awe-inspiring!
"Y-You're beyond cool!" I couldn't help but exclaim. This experience fills me with an intensity akin to a non-sexual orgasm, a surge of euphoria like no other!
"I'm flattered, Amphy! But now isn't the right moment for admiration! Let's focus and give it our all! Totally!" Her words reached me via telepathy. I responded with a resolute nod, and my crimson dragon sprang forth, propelled by the quad-boosters on her back.
The adversary dragon showed no hesitation either, lunging forward with a phalanx-style assault, shield leading the charge, and sword poised for battle. Nevertheless, we had come prepared for this confrontation! Airi's arms unfurled into two jet-wings, equipped with additional boosters, propelling us forward at an astonishing fourfold speed! They were caught entirely off guard by our swift maneuver! Airi's left pincer gripped the enemy Gladiator Dragon's golden shield, while her right pincer secured a firm hold on the colossal sword.
We both understood the Gladiator Dragon's limitations—incapable of projecting any projectile from its mouth, unlike other dragons. I had meticulously studied my adversary's past battles, formulating this precise strategy from the outset. The only lingering challenge was its trump card and the enigmatic Dracaryx it possessed.
Four colossal dynamos sprang forth from the Chimeratech Dragon's back, dwarfing my own in size and enhanced capabilities. These behemoth dynamos unleashed formidable laser volleys upon the enemy Gladiator Dragon, shrouding the battleground in a dense cloud of smoke. Concerned about the possibility of Mark launching a surprise attack, I urged my dragon to swiftly retreat from the dusty chaos.
Each of the dynamos honed in on Mark, their primary target being his shield plate, not to inflict harm upon his dragon. As the smoke dissipated, we were met with an unexpected sight. The golden wings of the Gladiator Dragon lay in tatters, sacrificed in defense of its knight. Though grounded and flightless, it proved a strategic move to protect its knight's shield plate from depletion.
Mark's emerald eyes bore an expression of fury directed at me. "I'll utilize every resource at my disposal to defeat you, Amphere!" he bellowed as he launched himself forward, landing with the flair of a superhero, causing the ground to tremble beneath him. Firmly gripping his halberd, he drove it deep into the earth, sending a silent yet visually arresting shockwave pulsating throughout the arena. He murmured, "Negate!"
A brilliant light enveloped my Chimeratech Dragon's form, and in an instant, she reverted back to her humanoid shape, causing me to tumble to the ground. However, Airi swiftly deployed her plasma wings, catching me in midair and ensuring a safe landing to minimize any potential shield plate deduction.
This is the magic I feared the most—the Vesryn Pulse Canceler, a bloodline thaumaturgy unique to the Octavius family. With a mere tap of his halberd on the ground, Mark could nullify any Vesryn Pulse within the vicinity. The odds seemed stacked against us in this battle, but hope lingered. After all, Airi once vanquished a dragon in her human form before, and now with her enhanced abilities, I believed she could match the colossal gladiator lizard before us.
"Don't worry, I'll handle the Gladiator Dragon, no sweat!" Airi assured me with a confident smile, propelling herself forward to face the colossal beast. With the agility of Tinkerbelle, she nimbly engaged the dragon using a hit-and-fly tactic, proving to be a vexing adversary.
Before me, a warcry pierced the air, signaling Mark's relentless charge once again. Knowing that I stood little chance in a direct swordplay confrontation, I swiftly deployed four mechanical arms to thwart his advance. Despite my efforts, Sir Octavius' nimbleness allowed him to elude my strikes effortlessly. With a sidelong and upward swing of his halberd, he severed two of my metallic arms, setting up for a lethal thrust aimed at my stomach!
Fortunately, just in the nick of time, six curved plates resembling a projected ribcage materialized, providing a protective barrier that thwarted his attack. Mark was taken aback as he witnessed his strike deflected, realizing the impending counter-attack I was readying! He hastily retreated, evading the wrath of my other gigantic arm that sought to vanquish him.
Mark was visibly struggling to catch his breath after those gracefully agile halberd maneuvers that should have left him winded. On the other hand, I found myself drenched in sweat, for activating Deus Ex Machina strained my muscles and blurred my vision. I couldn't sustain this state for long, as it would jeopardize my sense of balance, rendering me unable to move effectively.
At present, Mark's shield stood at 54% while mine was at 32%. My most potent spell could leave him utterly defenseless, and with that realization, I decided to unleash it right here, right now. "Let's bring this to an end!" I exclaimed, clasping my hands together.
The colossal head of Deus Ex Machina emerged, its hands mirroring my own. Three meters above the giant skeleton's skull, an overwhelming gravitational force field materialized. With its immense power, debris from Deus Ex Machina was drawn into the void, leaving nothing but a colossal planet-like ball hovering above me. Its diameter measured eleven meters, and it stood as my ultimate trump card.
"Asgard Down!" I commanded, raising my hand to dictate the precise location of its devastating impact!
An echoing whirling sound resonated as the colossal ball of metallic trash plummeted toward the gladiator knight. However, to my astonishment, he appeared strangely calm, almost uninterested in evading my attack. It became evident that he had another trick up his sleeve.
"DRACARYX! Activate Spartacus Field!" Mark's commanding voice echoed through the arena.
The Gladiator Dragon hurled her golden shield skyward, releasing a dazzling blue sky beam. Subsequently, twelve lights descended to the periphery of the arena, transforming into statues of formidable Spartans, all facing the center. In a twist of fate, my falling planet vanished into thin air.
"This is the Spartacus Field," Mark explained with a sinister grin. "As long as you remain within my Dracaryx's area of effect, all your special abilities will be nullified. Not even your dynamos or Deus Ex Machina will function... The only thing that could possibly work in this field is a Dracaryx of equal caliber. But from what I know, you haven't unlocked your Dracaryx yet."
Abigail, the Gladiator Dragon, reverted to her humanoid form, but this transformation proved short-lived. With another touch to his chest, Mark bellowed, "Activating Vesryn Pulse!" Instantly, the imposing eight-meter-tall warrior lizard returned.
It was becoming increasingly clear that Mark Anthony Octavius was a truly formidable General Class Dragon Knight, possibly even more potent than Estoff or Kyle.
As the dragon let loose a deafening roar, I tightened my grip on my sword, knowing that facing my impending doom was inevitable.
