Chapter 64 - God's Essence

"You two, cast the spell; I will make a barrier." The mages conversed between each other as two of them began chanting while two others fought Ben up front.

"Cracklee!!" Another thunder attack was sent towards Ben, but this time he cleverly hid behind rubbles before the attack shot, avoiding the attack as a result.

But before Ben could move, he noticed the rubble around him slowly shaking. He instantly reacted to it, but it was too late.

The rubbles combined to form huge hands, which clutched Ben into them, holding him by the chest. It didn't matter how much Ben struggled; the hands kept getting tighter and tighter.

"Magic is one fucking trouble," Ben cursed, observing that the other two mage continued their chants. Slowly, a huge golden magic circle started to form into the ground, just beneath Ben.

"I don't have a good feeling about this!" Ben tried to move, but his hands were bent in a way that stopped him from applying force. The golden magic circle beneath him slowly began radiating energy while radiating voluminously.

"Raboot Shooes!" Ben used quick thinking to summon the rabootshoots in his legs. Without wasting a second, he began thumping both his legs on the ground.

"O Lord of Flames, I request your strength. Erupt from the river of flame, and let the sinner witness your power."

Three mages began chanting, and magic circles manifested on the ground beneath them.

Ben, it's a full chant spell. [If you are hit, you are dead. ]

"Fuck, don't make me more nervous than I already am," Ben said, noticing the boots slowly charging up in pink. He continued to thump even more. In a matter of seconds, it was fully charged.

"Hail the Empire: Dragon Breath!" The mages chanted as the magic circle beneath Ben burst.

"Come on!" In a matter of milliseconds, Ben took a stance to jump. Using all his strength and boots ability, he broke through the golem hand as his body was thrown upwards with massive force.

A humongous tornado of flames erupted from the magic circle, shooting up into the sky. Its flame was so strong that even the wall of stone began to melt.

While Ben was in the air, he managed to avoid direct contact with the attack, but the heat released from the attack was not something he could dodge.

His clothes burned, and his skin began to tear off. His black hair burned so fast that it looked like it had evaporated into gases. While a foul smell of burning his own flesh evoloped his nose.

Ben crashed into the ground, head first. If not for the mental barrier, Ben would already be unconscious from the pain. He breathed heavily, feeling his body melt like sand sticking to the ground. He could only hope for the system to heal his wounds..

[ HP: 12/100 ; BE : 000 ]

[ Your hunger level is extreme; a transformation is being forced.]

New notifications began to sound, but his ears were filled with a ringing sound. His vision was envaloped in red, and the only thing he could see were red figures, representing blood energy.

"Arrrrgghhhh!!" Ben let out an uncontrollable chilling scream as his body began to heal and mutate at a rappid pace. His crimson, humanlike eyes truned crystallic.

Black scales began to grow on his hands, taking the shape of sharp claws. A whiet exoskeleton mask slowly formed atop his head, covering the upper half of his face.

As Ben continued to suffer in agony, he stood on his four limbs with two elongated fangs out of his mouth. Tearing the back of his skin, a purple wing like structure slowly emerged out of his body.

Before the transformation could be complete, a sweet smell entered Ben's nose. He looked at the red energy in the direction that was coming from the poison mage, almost 30 meters away from him.

And suddenly, an evil smile played on Ben's lips.

[Outside-]

"I am resistant to flames; I will go first," Ray shouted, taking charge. Freya and Alex remained frozen in their places as Ray boldly rushed into the remnants of the gigantic flames.

Being a flame magic user, Ray's body displayed remarkable resistance to normal flames. With the spell now subsided, the once-majestic church lay in ruins, its destruction extending hundreds of meters around.

Spotting the retreating figures in black cloaks, Ray wasted no time.

"Fireball burst," he chanted, his hands moving in a practiced pattern.

Within seconds, five blazing orbs shot towards the enemy group. In a swift reaction, one of the opposing mages retaliated with a volley of fireballs. However, Ray's attack exhibited clear superiority.

"Boom-Boom-Boom."

Consecutive blasts resonated as the fireballs collided. Unexpectedly, Ray's attack pierced through the other party's weakened fireball, hitting the mage who cast the spell.

While the impact wasn't as potent due to the earlier collision, it created a diversion. Seizing the opportunity, Ray closed the distance and delivered a powerful punch to the mage's chest, sending him flying 5 meters away, unconscious.

Ray wasted no time and cast another series of fireball spells at the remaining two mages. However, their agility proved sufficient to evade the attacks, allowing them to escape.

-Water Bullet-

As the mages stepped beyond the church's range, a sharp pain coursed through their bodies as if an unseen force had pierced their very essence.

Before collapsing to the ground, the last sight they witnessed was a silver-haired girl, her palm pointed menacingly in their direction.

"Good aim. Let's find out where Ben is." Ray walked out of the flames, dragging the first mage with him. The unique skill displayed by the silver-haired girl had surprised him, but the urgency of the situation left no room for pondering.

"No need for that; I am here."

A rough but clear voice entered as a figure huffing and panting emerged out of the flames, his legs trembling. Though there were no visible marks on his body, the same couldn't be said for his soul.
