"Ok, tell me where I can get these beast core things first. I am quite tight on time." Ben asked, flying in the air, searching for the pathway he was following the waggon on.
[In short, if you kill a normal-tier beast, you will obtain this thing in place of their heart.]
Ok, and I need three of those things. Not a problem," he said in a serious tone before Ben activated his new 'Blood Vision' skill to look for prey. After the upgrade, not only could he see quite far with that skill, but he was even able to determine targets health and strength depending on the intensity of the blood aura coming from them.
"Found one!" Ben claimed that before he used shapeshifting to shrink his size to that of a normal mosquito, he flew in a certain direction faster than any human eye could track.
-Blood Bullet-
Ben chanted, appearing before a mutant black bull, similar to the one he saw earlier. With Ben's new incomparable speed and small size, the bull was barely able to track its enemy before it felt a sharp pain in its neck.
"WooooNNNNNN!" The mutant bull roared in pain before he lifted his two forelegs in the air, ready to slam on the ground. Ben, on the other hand, was preparing another bloody bullet skill.
"Bangg!" With a deliberate stroke, both skills were used at once. While the blood bullet successfully hit the mutant bull's neck, making two big fist-sized holes in it, the shockwave from the bull's slam hit Ben, and he was sent flying back to hit a tree in his original form. (bigger size form)
You are stunned by an enemy attack. [Shapeshift has been nullified.]
[HP: 21/25]
"gRAAAHHH!" Ben grunted in pain from the impact. In his last battle of life and death, his purple ant armour was damaged to the extent that the soul weapon was unable to recover and disintegrated from his inventory, which was quite a huge downside from his side.
"WOOOoooOOONNNHHHH" While Ben was still cursing his back pain, the mutant bull with five horns pointed his horns forward, running towards Ben, who was still lying next to the tree.
-Shapeshift-
Benchanted, instantly looking at the enemy coming ahead, a cracking noise reverberated in the air as half of the thick tree broke apart.
-Blood bullet-
Ben chanted again, hitting the mutant bull twice in the sky while flying about 7 metres in the air.
"I really have sympathy for those beasts that can't fly, lol," Ben said in a sarcastic tone as he continued to launch a bloody bullet attack to hit the enemy below.
After 2 or 3 minutes of continued attack, a notification popped up on his screen before the bull collapsed on the ground.
[Mutant black bull killed]
[No soul essence was obtained.]
"Sigh, I am having quite bad luck with soul weapons these days." He grumbled before he flew towards the bull and used his beetle's chitin dagger to slice open his heart, picking out a voile-coloured crystal out of it.
"So this is what you call beast crystal?" Ben muttered, observing the voilet crystal, that it was about the size of a tennis ball in his hands—or legs.
[Low-tier beast core obtained: 1/3]
While Ben was still observing the crystal, a notification popped up on his screen, and the purple crystal in his hands disappeared into white light particles.
"What the hell? I was still observing that thing. You should have asked it before the consumption system," Ben said, with a bit of annoyance in his tone.
[Poinyt noted.]
[Host, would you like me to consume 1 litre of blood from the beast you killed?]
"Yeah, go on." Ben said it in an emotionless tone, still annoyed by the sudden disappearance of Beast Crystal.
[Beast blood consumed: 1/1 litre]
A notification popped up on Ben's screen as he saw blood inside the bull's body, as well as the blood outside, slowly levitating above into white light particles before completely disapearing into the air.
"That's so cool! How are you able to use this system?" Ben asked with sudden enthusiasm, as if the changes before him were truly magical. But disappointingly for him,the system didn't reply with anything as an answer.
With a little frustration from being ignored and nervous about clock time, Ben used his blood vision skill again to scan the area around him.
After evolving into a 'Vampiric Dreadwing Mosquito', killing normal-tier beasts wasn't a big deal for him. especially when he could snipe them while flying in the air.
After what seemed like an hour or two, Ben was finally able to kill two more beasts and obtain their beast cores. But with bad luck on his side, he was still unable to get any soul essence altogether.
[Primary goblin killed; beast core obtained. 2/3]
[Mutant Sloth killed; Beast Core obtained: 3/3]
"Finally done!" Ben shouted, making a victory pose while standing next to the road he lost track of. It was already quite late in the evening by now, and the waggon had moved too far for him to catch up in a few minutes.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm orange glow across the landscape, Ben realised he had lost precious time in his hunt for the beast cores. He knew he had to act swiftly if he wanted to catch up to the waggon before it vanished from sight.
It was already lucky for him that he didn't forget the directions, or it would be quite a mess if he flew in the opposite direction, searching for the waggon.
With renewed determination, he took to the skies, his wings beating with vigour as he followed the familiar path in the distance. The cool evening breeze caressed his face, a gentle reminder that time was of the essence.
The moon began its ascent, illuminating the road ahead as most of the monsters in the forest were now inside their hideout, leaving him a clear path to fly up.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR THE READERS
Hey everyone, I read some of your comments...and it kinda makes me sick.
First, the book's name is- "Reincarnated As A Mosquito", it follows a MOSQUITO mc reincarnated into a magical world. This will hold for the very last chapter of the book.
Second, this is not a meme book. If you came here expecting a certain overused plot, harem, and smut, leave this book, it's not your thing.
Now for the readers who are staying, I can assure you I have written this book to the best of my capabilities. The highlight of this novel is not the MC, but the world-building that I made as authentic as possible.
So, just read the book with an open mind and trust the process. You will get better than what you came here looking for.
