"Fuck!" Bella cursed. How on earth were they supposed to fight these things without their QI?! "What are those things, Petne?" Her vision was blurred by the poor lighting, leaving her unable to see them clearly.
"I have no idea what they're called," Petne admitted. He, too, had never encountered creatures like this before.
System! Inspect! he commanded mentally, hoping for some answers.
[Ding! Error! The system cannot operate within the Infinity Tower!]
'Perfect,' Petne groaned internally, his last hope for useful information extinguished in an instant. 'Why didn't you inform me about this limitation, system?!'
[Master didn't ask!] The robotic voice echoed in his head, cold and unapologetic.
'Did I just hear you scoff at me?' he thought, feeling funny.
[The system wouldn't dare, it's just your imagination, Master. Good luck with them though!] the system retorted, its mocking tone unmistakable before it fell silent.
