Life restarted as usual after the short trip. The oil refinery got more project than they asked for, much to their benefits. The co-owners were really busy.
Eder did his best to be able to talk with Dahlia but she always avoided him. He wanted to talk to her and know what was happening to her but she was always cold or curt with him. However, his determination didn't falter one bit. On the other hand, their was Dola disturbing him and constantly reminding him that his father wanted to see him. Eder was getting fed up with her. With them both. His bastard of a genitor couldn't come to him himself, he had to send Dola.
He also thought back to what Emmett told him. The proximity. Dahlia told him to stay away when the only thing he wanted was to keep her close. He wondered about her motives and why she needed him away . It was undeniable the pull between them but she was stubbornly staying away from whatever reason. In the end, the conclusion he came to was that she was trying to severe their bond. Vampire's mate bond was not very pronounced. It could be easily severed with harsh tenacity. If that's the reason why Dahlia was so adamant to stay away from him then he wouldn't let her. If she was really his mate, then he would claim her no matter what happens. Hell, even if she wasn't! because right now he was too far obsessed with her to let her go. She got under his skin. Eder knew then that he must have her, one way or the other, the ruthless goddess was his to worship.
...
A week passed, Dahlia did not show up at neither companies. Dola waited for her to meet her but she did not. When she investigated, she found that Dahlia was absent, they had gone on a trip and came back a few days go.
Eder on his side became worried. He asked Freya but she could not tell him anything. Surely Dahlia asked her not to. Eder then started to look for their house address. It was well hidden but he was relentless and ended up having it. He also kept an eye on Dola. He got to know that she had gone to the Quinn corp with the intention to meet Dahlia. He was curious about what he wanted from her but his first priority now was to see Dahlia. Her sudden disappearance made him feel uneasy coupled with the fact that he was unable to feed, it just made him restless. Whatever or whoever's blood he tasted was just horrible and unable to satiate him.
He just reached Dahlia's house. If it could be called a house. It was a big beautiful white and black mansion standing at the foot of a hill and surrounded by a large wall with a gate. The mansion was lost in the forest on the outskirt of the country, in a deserted forest far away from civilization and not easily found because it was camouflaged in the dense forest. One could even miss it if not extremely careful.
Eder stood in the distance watching the house. It looked unoccupied. Eder could not help but compare the house to Dahlia. It was so beautiful, black and white, with tinge of mysteriousness and also very lonely. He looked around the house and it was not too guarded. Matt drove them over to the gate, then he climbed down to meet the guards.
"who are you?" the man asked grimly.
"Eder Galann" he replied.
"what do you want?"
"Dahlia Quinn" as soon as he said the name, the man's face turned dark and Eder couldn't understand exactly why.
"wait here" he said and walked over to the other men.
Eder heard him relay the information to someone. He folded his arms and waited. Soon the tall man with shoulder length golden hair and blue eyes came out.
"good evening, Mr Galan" Emmett greeted him.
"good evening" Eder replied. He was doing his best to contain himself even though all this protocol was getting on his nerves.
"Ms Quinn is not available for any visit right now"
"why don't she tell me herself?" he asked.
"like I said she is not available." Emmett repeated calmly.
"I really need to talk to her Emmett" Eder tried to be persuasive but the man was unfazed. Though Eder could see a particular gleam in the man's eyes. Which meant he was right. he had found the real solution. Eder then finally understood Emmett's enigmatic answer; stick to her and never let her go.
"I am sorry. I got orders" Emmett apologized.
"okay" Eder surrendered, which surprised the man before him. Then he walked to his car, where Matt was waiting, climbed in and drove away.
Emmett had thought he would insist a bit more or do something to get her to answer him. Emmett knew Eder could,if he wanted, easily walk past them all and get in but why was he just backing away? did he make a mistake trusting this man?
What he didn't know was that Eder did not leave. He just parked his car few kilometers away out of their sight and perimeter. Then used his natural strength to go back. As he jumped and leaped through the dense forest, he saw some vampires around seemingly on patrol. He smirked. He had pleasure going through them unseen. He was like a gush of wind, they couldn't even feel him much less see him.
After a while, he found himself near the west wall of the mansion. There was only one guard there. Eder did not think much, he walked soundlessly over to the man and knocked him down from behind. The man fell on the floor. Eder hid him, in the bushes and climbed the wall. Once he was on the other side, he noticed their were no guards. So finally he got into the house.
Eder took his time to admire the house structure. It was a very elegant and luxurious house. It was painted in black and white. Their was a fire place but it was off and then few couches with chandeliers on the ceiling. He took in a deep breath and he smelled her. She was here. He followed her scent and ended up in front of a door. Her smell was strong from here. Eder held the door knob, turned it and walked in.
