Chapter 6 - Chapter Five: Disintegration

I've really got nothing much to say other than I'm hangry and I needed to edit

this chapter to get my mind off the churns in my stomach 🙃

Xavier's POV:

"It was accidental," I said nonchalantly, not looking at the grim face of Mr.

Mark( hostel supervisor) as he kept questioning about Beverly's injury.

"Are you telling me that Beverly just fell from her bunk and crashed her

teeth!" He quaked, hitting his hand against his desk as he spoke.

I smirked clearly and tutted, "Who you gonna believe now huh, me or she?" I

asked, giving Beverly a disgusted once-over as her forehead was covered with brown plaster and her mouth swollen from the "accident".

"I'm believing the obvious." Mr Mark said, a bit calmly now as he sat down gently on his seat.

"Well I'm saying the tru–" I shrugged, but was cut off by Beverly's shout,

"Liar!" She barked, "you threw me down from the b-bed," she sobbed and threw

her face to the floor, and honestly I didn't do justice to that face, she was

terribly disfigured and a part of me felt so fulfilled, but the other part felt, just so...

Mr. Mark interjected, his voice laced with disgust as he spoke, "Do you mind telling me what actually happened between you two?" He asked.

"I've told you." I curtly said.

"We have a roommate sir, her name's Diane, she might testify but I don't really think she would be that unsentimental, they are best friends." Beverly

announced, making my heart skip beats as she spoke and enunciated every

word.

"Keep Diane out of this." I whispered through gritted teeth and she ignored

me, her gaze pinned on Mr. Mark,

"Get me Diane from Hostel B16," Mr. Mark spoke into the microphone, his voice

apparently reverberating in his secretary's office.

"You just don't listen, do you?" I whisper-shouted at Beverly whose face was

painted with a smile as she looked down at her feet.

"You should listen bitch," I whispered again, in a low tone that only her

could hear.

The closed door creaked open after some excruciating minutes and a panicking Diane stepped inside, fear etched on her face as she saw Beverly and I.

"You are Diane, I guess." Mr. Mark spoke, his voice evident with boredom.

"Yes I am." She said in a stable and firm voice, but I knew better, she was nothing near firm, hell, she might just shit her pants at the moment.

"We'd go straight to the point, for you know how late this is," he said, giving his wristwatch a quick glance,

"I understand." Diane said.

"Good, now, did Xavier push Beverly down from the bed?" He asked quietly, but with every ounce of seriousness.

I tilted my face towards Diane and saw that she was looking at me, somewhat pity and disgust painted on her features as she looked down at me.

"Yes." She replied bluntly, her voice sounding very certain as she spoke and I cringed into my seat, feeling betrayed and backstabbed as Diane uttered the

"yes".

"Do you mind telling me exactly what transpired?" Mr. Mark asked, his voice laced with intent as he spoke.

Diane sighed deeply and began, "It happened pretty fast, I must say, Xavier commanded Beverly down from the top bunk and Beverly disagreed so all he had to

do, as a man, a mature man was throw her down and injure her severely, just to protect his chauvinistic ego," she said and hissed, irritation evident in her

voice.

"Okay, that's it, Diane you may go now," Mr. Mark said, then turned his head towards me and said, "Xavier you are going to be punished, of course, I am

contemplating sending you back to city but there's not a chance to that, so you're getting solitary till end of camp." He declared, his eyes furthered

directly into mine as he announced.

My jaw dropped in awe at the absorbance of his statement, this is just Friday for crying out loud and we don't get back to the city till Sunday evening, and how on God's green earth am I supposed to survive over two days confinement?!

"Now!" I heard his quake and I shivered in the seat, looking at him with

confusion.

"I said, leave my office." He repeated, for the sake of me being so lost in

thought.

Oh, Beverly and Diane are so dead

❤️❤️❤️

"That was extreme," Clarke softly said, his voice calm and his words accurate.

Well that was the usual.

"I don't care, what's worse is that Diane, Diane ganged up with her to get me

detention." I yelled as we trudged up the hill.

"Well, I think it has something to do with girl code, I guess." Will finally spoke, that was the first sentence he made aside, "how long", "I'm tired", "can we

stop".

"They chill now, I saw them hang around." Clarke announced, ignoring will as he threw his gaze into void, his eyes glistening with excitement, or maybe not at space,

His eyes were furthered at someone, her dark hair cascaded down her back and

from my vantage point on this sloppy hill I could see that she was slender and without any curves or whatever I regarded as a turn off.

"Well, I wish her luck." Clarke said, batting his eyelids against each other

and now looking at me, directly.

"Did you even get any sleep at all?" He asked, probably trying to digress or maybe trying to take his attention away from the girl.

I laughed cockily, "What's her name?" I asked, nodding my head towards the

girl that climbed the hill wearily.

"Huh, who?" Clarke said, following my gaze towards nothing as he seemed not to

have seen the girl,

"I don't know what you are talking about." He uttered, well he could say he didn't know, he could deny not looking at her but his cheeks couldn't, they

just flushed red and he turned his face away in embarrassment.

"Got a new prey, I see." I said, clicking my tongue at the way his mouth gaped

at me and his nose scrunched up.

"She's not a prey," he declared, squeezing my collar but immediately removed his hands, seeming all tense and scared.

I sniggered at his unusual demeanor and said, "Bro, chill, she's not even my

type," I laughed softly, realizing how insensitive that might have sounded to Clarke, so to soothe things up a bit I added, "she's not even near the ballpark of what my type is like," I concluded, dodging my head from Clarke's clenched fist, and just as I pulled away from Clarke I stumbled upon something, or

someone, I redirected my gaze to the white girl with blonde curly hair and a big smile that soon transformed to a frown when she met my unfriendly glare,

"Oh, Diane baby, I've missed you like hell," Will sprang up and dashed towards Diane and engulfed her in a bone crushing hug and she winced at that, Beverly who was by her side also chuckled and despite her injuries I must say that she looked undeniably beautiful that I had to gaze at her till a nudge from Clarke met my arm,

"What's Diane with Beverly?" Clarke asked, his brow furrowed in evident confusion as he asked,

"Well, that's not my own problem, my question is why the helling fuck is Will

shaking hands with Beverly?" I asked, my eyes trained on Beverly and Will's hands interlocked together.

That should be me, I should be in that spot, of course not shaking hands with Beverly but with Will, I should be holding his hand, I should be twisting it in

a way that he would scream bloody hell.

"What the fuck is wrong with Will?!" Clarke said in a hushed tone and I could

tell that he was mad, but for what? I couldn't say.

I wouldn't even be surprised if he liked Beverly too, hell even castrated men would develop feelings for her, in spite of her disfigurement.

"Will, get back here!" I thundered at him and he shook, stopping the obviously stupid conversation he was already engrossed in,

"I'd be back," he whispered to Beverly and passed her a wink which she merely smiled at.

No way she's liking Will fucking Kirkman

Will stopped by my side, looking at me with his usual pout, "What was that dude? Just when I was about to score her," he cried and stomped his feet.

My lips had already separated to speak when Clarke quickly interjected, "No one's doing any scoring here, you just stick to the plan idiot?" Another smack

on Will's head was given by Clarke and as childish as Will is, he began wincing and jumping up and down, back to Beverly and her crew,

I was going to call him back but was interrupted by the darkness that loomed over the skies, or was it the skies?

The trees covered the bright blue skies and all I could realise was that we had gotten to the woods.

One a many students began slumping to the floor at the recognition of our destination, and man was this place so beautiful.

We all settled down, tents were raised, woods were brought together and

announcements were made, of course Ms Cassy came along.

"Geez," Clarke exclaimed, sitting on the floor as he rested his weary legs, sighing multiple times till he got bored out of it, but for me, I couldn't sit,

I was restless and disturbed by the fact that Beverly was with Will and let's face it, Will is tad cute, no matter how stupid he might be, I would always

respect the obvious fact that he was a very handsome jock and at this point that was the one thing that got me scared and disturbed,

"You seen Will?" I asked Clarke, trailing my eyes all over the woods but yet still expecting an answer from him,

"Duh, he's with his girlfriend," Clarke announced nonchalantly and sprawled inanimately on the floor filled with pines and dried leaves,

It shouldn't have meant anything to me, but it did, my ears perked up at the procession of his words,

"Don't call her that," I said with a low growl and heard Clarke laugh quietly,

"Whatever," he merely said amid a laugh and I nodded inwardly, relishing being the alpha-male.

"Will is such a big fool," I announced more to myself than to anybody that cared to listen, while my eyes still furthered away around the woods and

finally I saw them, getting around a small fireplace as will giggled and laughed.

"Hey, do you mind if I sit?" A female voice peered in from behind me and I turned around in confusion, only to see the girl Clarke was staring at earlier

on.

Her face was smooth and ovally shaped with a tight, slender neck and her nose pointing down at Clarke who was obviously surprised and seemingly scared.

"O-o-of co-course." He replied, and I chuckled quietly at his plapablity but soon took my mind away from him as I remember Will and Beverly,

I began hurrying to the direction I had seen them last in eagerness and rage.

This was the first time since my 17 years of friendship with Diane that I felt so much disdain for her, it has always been one minor quarrel or the other, our

longest fight was for two hours and it was just because she told my mother about me having a condom in my room, well we were both 12 then, but that led to

my mom confiscating my phone and grounding me for a whole week, though I only observed the grounding once.

I could see Will, in the Middle of Beverly and Diane he sat, and Camella beside Beverly, all four of them sat around the campfire, with their legs arched as

they chewed on some of Will's snacks.

"Will, what are you doing?" I asked audibly from behind him and the four of them quickly turned towards me, surprise written on their faces as they saw me.

"Campin' duh." He replied sarcastically and gave me an eyeroll before turning

back to the fire and throwing a used packet of M$M chocolate in it as he watched in admiration as it burned,

"Come with me, Will." I ordered and waited for him to stand up and frown at me with his baby-cute-pout but he did none of these, rather he sat more

comfortably and replied,

"No." He said, his eyes still on the fire as he spoke.

The reply reverberated in my head and I looked at him in stupefaction while he

still gazed at the fire.

"Sorry?" I said in confusion as I crouched to hear him clearly.

"No, I'm not coming with you." He said with certainty and still not looking at my face,

"Yes you are." I growled and held his arm but he quickly shrugged it off, looking at me, not with a pout, a cute frown, a smile but with a glare,

"Don't touch me again." He ordered with a whisper-shout and I shivered at that, looking at his furious glare with terrified eyes.
