Chapter 22 - Divorce?

Sierra and Denis lay on the bed while Denis wrapped his arm around her naked shoulders.

He took a sip of his drink under the dim light of the room but Sierra was cuddling to his bare chest.

"Denis.... don't you feel that Lucy is a threat to what we are planning?" Sierra couldn't help but raise her voice and inner thoughts. "She appeared from nowhere and suddenly became Davis's wife. We don't want her to come in between what we are planning, right baby?"

"I don't think so. She has been in Davis's office and is one of his top secretaries. Indeed she matches Davis in terms of intelligence but in terms of status.." Denis need not blur his opinion since it was unsaid but known.

Sierra adjusted herself more comfortably. Her fingers softly played with Denis's abs and a dark giant thought appeared in her eyes.

"She is dangerous. I think we shou-"

"Sierra."

Denis called her name softly, interrupting her words. She raised her head in his arms to look at his face, and his perfect jawline came into her view.

Upon her gaze, Denis mumbled, "Your effect on Davis is waving, my girl. That is the reason he married Lucy. It's not upon her but on you."

At the realization, Sierra's eyes widened. How could she not understand that? The previous hot makeout session made her forget about all her jealousy, they now originated back.

Her lips parted but no words came out but Denis chuckled at her reaction.

"Relax. Sooner, Lucy will go out of the scene. Just wait and watch." Denis's overconfident tone made Sierra a bit less alarmed. She gulped down and rested her head again on his chest, but this time her mind was wandering at the thoughts of Davis and how gently he tugged Lucy beside him.

'Is he seriously moving on? Definitely not! This is purely because he needed a wife within a month.' Sierra refused to believe the reality.

Knowing Davis too well, the wound she left won't be recovering so soon. And if it did, what would she do?

As she recalled those happy days spent with Davis, her eyes were still warm. But then there was a sudden spanking on her ass under the blanket, bringing her out of those dreams.

She passed Denis a questionable glance to which he said, "It's either me or me. I know you are afraid that he will forget you, he will not. Wait for his divorce."

"B-But she is his legal wife. If something happens to Davis in the meantime then..." Sierra didn't dare to imagine how their plan would crumble down. This was a plan they were bewitching for the past year!

On hearing her, Denis's eyes could only turn black. They were once again filled with hatred, what he felt was originally for this older brother.

"Davis will have to die..but not before he divorces Lucy. She will not stick for long, mark my words."

...

In the meantime, Lucy and Davis were driving back to their home. It was the mansion where Lucy came yesterday and when Lucy saw it again, a lump came in her throat.

She stepped inside the home and Davis helped her in getting accustomed to everything.

He personally gave her a tour of the house and she was grateful for this to not leave her alone with the maids.

As they were coming across different rooms and entertainment rooms, the first question thrown at him since the time they came back.

"Is there any terrace at your home where I can see the sky at night?" hearing Lucy's question, Davis gave her a nod. "Indeed. Let me take you there."

Lucy followed Davis and they entered one room. From the interior, she could recognize its aesthetic manner. Everything was neatly arranged in order and so was the color of the walls.

But she didn't stop to take a look but walked with Davis where he opened the door leading to the balcony.

Outside the transparent sliding door, there was a large terrace and it gave the view of their private garden and the mountains at a clear distance.

At first glance, Lucy's heart skipped a beat on such beautiful scenery but subconsciously, she watched Davis looking at her with his fierce gaze.

"Umm..is there any problem?" Lucy asked again and Davis Shook his head. "Do you like seeing stars?" Davis questioned softly and Lucy didn't say much.

She raised her head to find herself staring back at the sky, and a genuine smile reached up to her lips. "Yes. Night...calms me. When I was in an orphanage, my brother and I used to sit under the night sky and think a lot. It gives me a sense of peace."

"Seems like you are a very dear friend of darkness." Davis's words took Lucy back but she adjusted her expressions before.

"You are wrong. I'm not a big fan of darkness but how the moon illuminates the darkness. Moon is alone but shining brightly despite the darkness around it, that is what calms me."

"It makes me realize I'm not alone." Lucy smiled at Davis.

In response to her words, Davis's eyes narrowed but he didn't comment back. There was nothing that could change her point of view but she is too optimistic about everything.

Her life was filled with thorns yet she is laughing like a flower.

A thought dwelled upon Davis's mind but he couldn't say much. "You can come here whenever you want. But make sure you don't disturb me when I will work in my room."

Hearing this, Lucy couldn't help but ask, "That is your room?" Davis nodded his head.

Lucy accepted that because from the room, she was able to make some valued guesses. As the couple were still standing under the sky, one was finding peace and the other was only feeling worse.

But to break the silence, Davis approached first. Then he said, "I have asked the aunt and she has prepared a room for you. We will sleep in different rooms...without any contact."
