Chereads / The Wanderer: At World's End / Chapter 2 - Prologue

Chapter 2 - Prologue

Do you know what it's like to be paralyzed in fear? Well, personally I never thought I'd have to ever experience something of that sort. Until I was in the middle of an empty field drenched in rain. The deafening sounds of the buildings crashing to the ground overtaking the loud thunders and screams of the people that were running for their lives.

Fear...was just one of the many emotions I felt that day. When I along with many others witnessed what we now call 'The world at its end'. The world that we now have to survive.

No continents, no countries, no borders. Just survivors of a mighty earthquake that had shaken Earth to the point that the continents collided with each other.

Billions of lives were lost, concrete jungles that were once called cities became nothing but dust and debris. Humanity was left with barely a million survivors, some minimal technology at hand, and a broken world.

Karma is a bitch after all. It was about time mother nature punished humanity for its insolence towards her. Of course, the wrath of nature was something we humans deserved. We reap what we sow kind of thing, no?

Fear...is one thing but even when the world was or still is 'at its end', nothing can truly compare to the beauty that is only brought out by or only after destruction.

After all, nature is always at its best when it goes into chaos.

Wouldn't you agree?
